I definitely won’t be ordering from Amazon Italy again. I have placed three orders in the last few months and all were majorly delayed. However, of more concern is the fact that every single item has arrived damaged, notably due to poor packaging. A cheaper price for an item does not compensate for sub-standard service.
You’re right – Dunfermline is indeed the return address but closer inspection reveals that mine came from much closer to home. In fact, Hemel Hempstead, about 5 miles away…
Dunfermline is the return address but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it was sent from there. What surprised me is that I received the Dylan box set within 36 hours of ordering it from Amazon Italy and it had an Italian import hologram sticker on it.
My Dylan set also arrived this morning – sent from Dunfermline.

Extraordinary. I ordered the Basement Tapes box set from Amazon Italy at 11.50pm on Friday night and it arrived at 10.30pm this morning! It looks like it’s been sent from the UK but it has a Sony Music Italy hologram sticker on it.

I’ve ordered several things recently from amazon.fr and they have been dreadful. One thing is lost in space and they tried to send another copy and it hasn’t made it to me(United States) for weeks.
Another item is in stock but they haven’t released it for 8 days. Hopefully amazon.it is better.
The shipping cost for the Dylan box was only €3:83 so I’m not sure how they calculate their charges.

Amazon Italy are charging 18 euros for shipping the velvet underground loaded. this makes it more expensive than buying it in the UK.
Just saying..
I only got charged 4 pounds for the shipping for Loaded. Ended up paying £37 including postage. Though when I ordered the White Light/White Heat super from Italy it ended up being sent from Scotland!
