DEAL ALERT / John Martyn: The Island Years 18-disc box
This John Martyn Island Years box set contains 17 CDs featuring the 12 key studio albums (recorded for Island between 1967 and 1987) with previously unreleased mixes, outtakes, unheard songs and two complete, previously unreleased live solo concerts from 1972 and 1977 and the complete demos for The Apprentice, the last album Martyn delivered to Island. Add to that a DVD with loads of TV performances, a large hardback book and you have an amazing set.
You can pick this up now from Amazon UK for virtually half price at the time of writing, not quite as good as last year’s ‘accidental’ deal on Amazon Germany, but at least this should be honoured! US fans should note that with tax deducted this works out at about $122 plus shipping.
You really make it appear so easy with your presentation however I
to find this topic to be really something which
I believe I would never understand. It kind of feels too complex and extremely broad for me.
I am taking a look forward in your subsequent submit, I will try to get the dangle of it!
I have now received mine from Amazon and paid £38. Very happy.
Hi Michel
I received an e-mail this afternoon from Amazon informing me my order has been dispatched. I am keeping my fingers crossed as at £38 it seems to good to be true. I missed out on the deal last year and bought this set with the intention of giving it to a friend as a (extremely generous) birthday gift. However after reading the reviews and seeing how fantastic the whole package is I am now tempted to keep this for myself.
Because the whole world does not revolve around you…
LOL! Who the fuck IS this?! And why isn’t this happening for my favorite recording artists?!
I managed to order 2 of this fantastic box set, one for a friend, when the alert first came up for Amazon Germany. They did honor my order, I received it 4 days later. At £38 it is an amazing bargain, well done to those of you who have managed to get one or two. And thanks to Paul for alerting everyone on each occasion.
Just curious if the ones ordered for 38 pounds are shipped for this price. Mine, ordered voor 88 pounds has just depatched from Amazon…..happy..!!!
Still only one left and up to 169 pounds. Second time I’ve missed the deal on this set.
Σας ευχαριστώ, καλημέρα και σε σένα!
thanks… ;-)
I’m currently stuck in a huge traffic jam in a wonderful part of Kefalonia whilst sucking on an ouzo on my sun lounger. I missed out on this great offer, but feel so glad that all the other punters got this for next to nowt when some of us other schmucks paid a shed load when it came out.
Kalimera… ;-)
Being in Australia, I slept through this deal. Back to £149.95 with only 1 left. :(
pps, I love these deal alert posts. I managed to blag the T.Rex Tanx\Zinc Alloy box set for £44.00 when I was hesitating at £66.00
Hi Paul
I am actually in Greece on holiday and was checking the website on my mobile whilst in a bar (sad I know) the second I looked I saw the £38 price so ordered it immediately. I did suspect it was a mistake but ordered anyway. I then went onto a bar without wifi and was worried that I had perhaps ordered at £138!!
As I said I don’t really know this artists work but it will make for a great extravagant gift (they will never know what I paid) lol
ps Michel, what price did you pay?
88. But still a good bargain considering its now again 149
Keep trying guys. It seems to be a bug. I’ve managed to order a second one for £38 (the first was £88). And this was right now – after Paul’s and Michel’s posts. Zon has a strange relationship with this box. First was German (that time, they haven’t honored my order), then Amazon.fr. Now UK….
up to Price: £149.95
Hi Paul
Thanks for that.
I just ordered at £38, is that the price you saw? I checked when I first saw your post and it was £88. 38 seems an amazing deal. I have a friend who will love this for a birthday gift.
Well it was £88, but I briefly saw the £38 price although it more or less disappeared before my eyes!
did my order one hour ago… only 15 left !! Looked a minute ago and you know what… only FIVE left… thanks Paul for letting us know.. !
