Dead Or Alive / Nude coloured vinyl
Music On Vinyl will reissue Dead Or Alive‘s fourth album Nude, as a limited edition 30th anniversary coloured vinyl pressing, in February.
The 1988 album saw Pete Burns and Steve Coy take over production duties (after two albums with Stock Aitken Waterman) and while the album lacked a big mainstream hit either side of the Atlantic, ‘Turn Around And Count 2 Ten’ was massive in Japan and ‘Come Home with Me Baby’ was a dance hit in America.
The songs on the album are deliberately sequenced to run into each other, like some kind of non-stop dance party!
The new reissue is a numbered edition (limited to 1500 copies worldwide) and pressed on pink & black ‘marbled’ vinyl. Anyone who bought the Sophisticated Boom Boom orange and black limited edition will know how good these dual colour pressings can look.
This Nude limited coloured vinyl pressing will be issued on 2 February 2019. Like the three previous DOA releases it is available to pre-order via the SDE shop, via this link or by using the button below. We still have some of the “Last Interview‘ booklets available as well (which won’t be reprinted, when they’re gone).

Thanks Paul, for the super fast dispatch of both this fantastic Dead or Alive colour vinyl and the signed Roxy Music Phil M CD’s from the Superdeluxeedition shop :)
You’re welcome. Thank YOU.
To me by far their best (#2 being Mad Bad & Dangerous To Know) and easily one of my all time favorite albums. So an absolute no brainer.
I don’t even own a record player anymore (and I do not intend to get one anytime soon) but I’m just a sucker for colored vinyl. Have been ever since the 80s. So thanks for this release.

Amidst all the confusion of the sophisticated boom box set with the wrong versions, bad sound quality etc i totally missed out. Now i see the corrected boxes selling for obscenely high prices online. I’m just waiting if ever for regular deluxe cd album reissues to happen. My turntable doesn’t even work, so buying LPs is out of the question.
I don’t think the boxes were corrected (unless the original purchaser manually swapped the faulty discs with the re-pressed discs that were sent out), Mr Sinclair may be able to clear up the confusion.
I had the SBB CD set pre-ordered, but had to cancel due to a lack of funds. So I missed out on the box AND missed out the replacement discs too. That’s why I’m reluctant to pay those obscene prices – all that money for a box where half of the discs have errors. And then forking out a small fortune for the replacement discs as well.
All I can hope for is either winning the lottery, or an error-free full reissue.
The replacement Cd’s were free ! One e-mail and a few weeks later all the perfect replacement discs were received. With the replacement CD’s in place the CD box was absolutely sonic perfection.
Ordered. The previous DOA releases have been fantastic quality both in visual and sound.
Fan The Flame next pretty please!
Is that what “nude” vinyl looks like?
What are we talking about here…one of Captain Kirk’s alien girlfriends?
;-)
I was going to say… if it’s called “Nude” shouldn’t it be on clear vinyl?
The clear vinyl was part of the vinyl box set. My box had the mispress which plays Elvis (!!!) on side 2 and I received a free correct replacement copy. I still have both.
ordered it, many thanks, Im hoping they issue ‘Fan The Flame’ in its original artwork next, I notice they’ve missed the ‘Rip It Up’ compilation LP
I am waiting for any news on the 12 Inches Collection… again!
Agree with Anthony and Lee above… would love to see MOV do a stand alone re-release of “Fan The Flame (Part 1)” with the original artwork (not that dated artwork Pete chose for Demon’s “Sophisticated Boom Box”).
Bought this at the time. Cover is beautiful by the late great Andie Airfix. Pete Burns was his favourite client. Duh! He did their artwork from You Spin Me onwards.
Great to see these are continuing, have the other 3 from you Paul and have ordered this one too.
Do you know if they will do all of the albums ?
Thanks for a great site and providing us with these gems.
All the best to you and your family for Christmas and the New Year.
Peter
Thanks Peter. Will see what I can find out…. Have a great Christmas too.
