The Auteurs / Cowboy, Murder Park and Bootboys issued as 2CD deluxe
Having put out deluxe editions of The Auteurs‘ debut and the Baader Meinhof album earlier this year, 3 Loop Music will reissue the remaining Auteurs albums in June.
Now I’m A Cowboy (1994), After Murder Park (1996) and How I Learned To Love The Bootboys (1999) will all come with bonus discs featuring previously unreleased tracks, B-sides, radio sessions and live material.
All three two-disc deluxe editions will feature new sleeve notes by Luke Haines and are likely to match the six-panel card sleeve packaging used for New Wave.
The albums are re-released on 10 June 2014.

[…] Now I’m a Cowboy and After Murder Park were all reissued as two-CD deluxe sets earlier this year but no vinyl was forthcoming. That’s now corrected with LP versions of all […]
New vinyl releases for these three titles!
Chuffed to hear this. I thought the two reissues a few months back were going to be our lot. Any reason as to why the releases were staggered? Get a better idea of interest from the first two to see if the rest are worth bothering with? Clearance issues? Or maybe they realise Auteurs fans need to save their pocket money if they want the lot…
Also, are any of these remastered? I seem to remember in his acerbic memoir that Haines had to do a lot of remixing of the sound on Cowboy originally.
Now I’m A Cowboy is one of the great lost Britpop (yes, I know Luke would not want his music to be lumped in with it) records of the early-90s. It’s a shame that hardly anyone has ever heard it.
Funnily, I saw them at the Whisky on that tour and thought they were the most boring band I’d ever seen. They sounded perfect, just like the albums, but there was a major lack of personality on the stage. Maybe it was an off-night or something. The show didn’t deter me from loving their (and Haines’s) albums for 20 years now.
I felt the same way after I saw them live too Mike. Compared to contemporary bands such as Suede The Auteurs weren’t in the same league. Of that whole era though it’s them and Pulp that I still listen too all the time. Suede faded quickly after album three for me.
Luke said on Twitter that it is on there, just not on the listings althought “it did wander off for a bit”
He also says that there will be no vinyl pressings due to a new ruling by Universal. Wonder what that is? They wasted their time repressing the H17 Temptation 12″ for Virgin’s 40th when dozens are available for 50p in your local charity shop
Damn Universal! I was really looking foward for the vinyl, this albums are very expensive on Ebay or Discogs
I’d suspect the ruling is that Universal wants to do the vinyl reissues themselves to reap the profits. They’ll sell far more of those than the CD reissues.
These look pretty comprehensive which makes it all the more odd that Back with the killer again is inexplicably omitted when they have the other songs on that ep.
So glad to see No Dialogue as part of these packages. I remembered when that was given away free via download, and you had to do it song by song; it took forever and I gave up halfway through. A proper release is the way to go!
Any chance of vinyl editions, as per the last two, I wonder?
I’d love ‘After Murder Park’ on LP.
In 1996 Dublin the only place to stock the vinyl of After Murder Park was Virgin. They got four copies, sold one and the other three hung around for a few months before being reduced to £1.99 before they all shifted one Saturday. I got one – should have bought all three…
Good story. I had a friend that worked in that Virgin, although that was back in the 80s.
Ooo much more tempted to pick these up. The live stuff alone is enough. I have both No Dialogue and Black Sessions, both are really good. Great.
