Anniversary reissue for the album that redefined U2
U2 are preparing to release their most lavish deluxe editions to date, on October 31st this year, to mark the 20th anniversary of their seminal album Achtung Baby.
The album will be reissued across five formats and content will include previously unreleased material, live and documentary video footage, remixes, b-sides and even an album full of demo and early versions of the final 1991 track listing.
Confirmed track listing details for both Uber and Super Deluxe Editions are detailed below along with an overview of all the various physical formats.

The Uber is too much… just for the serious-obsessive type of collector I think. I guess I’ll go for the Super Deluxe since I don’t have any of the post-Joshua Tree U2 albums as original CDs, and that one comes with the bits that interest me: the albums, the DVDs… and well, also some crap like those remixes… but I can live with that…
I’m not interested in Bonos sunglasses, bloody badges and stickers… I don’t care… but I guess that box wasn’t made for me, was it??
At least these guys had some level of decency and crafted 2 different options or “levels” for their boxes, so I don’t have to get stuck with my only option being to pay about 500 bucks to get some sunglasses. I still can get the cheaper one with the discs only.
Not like some other band whose box I got some days ago, for which my only option was to pay 99 Euros and get stuck with crappy coasters, marbles and a scarf…
You don’t know yet – it’s not been released – so I think it’s okay to have an opinion but I’d be keen to know if when it is released and available that you all don’t change your minds. U2 feedback like this happens before releases and 90% of the time they come out trumps!! I’ve ordered ther super deluxe ed and SOOOO can’t wait!!! Peace
I can’t wait for the “Hyper Deluxe” edition, featuring 47 remixes of “Lemon”, a set of “Achtung Baby” napkin rings, and a small bag of Larry Mullen Jr.’s toenail clippings.
Why the hell is there a Zooropa CD included? Surely someone that is ready to drop £250 on a U2 album will already have that, or be able to spring the fiver to get hold of it. Padding at all?
I would like to have the a Blu-Ray disc remastered in 24bits and in 5.1 sirround sound. I would agree with Bruno that I am not excited about the remix.

thanks Mark – two discs of remixes does seem excessive. No surround sound or hi res is the big hole in both the Super and Uber deluxe editions. As Bruno says those b-sides have been made available a few times. I have all the original UK CD singles from this album and that covers much of the material on the b-sides/rarities disc.
Not MORE remixes… the ones on the Best Ofs were bad enough. And the limited editions of those had the decent B-sides, didn’t they?
A sensible set would be the remastered album, a disc of demos, and a DVD of the live footage broadcast on the BBC from earlier in the tour than the Sydney show.
Another few nails in the coffin of a band I once loved…
Agreed – this is a shocking dollop of mainly useless periphery at a shocking price. Concise 3 disc set of Sydney dvd, remastered album and possibly remixes cd retailing at £15 would have made u2 come off much better and, more importantly, been of some attraction to fans with more sense than money!
