We Are Vinyl: Sony offer vinyl fans superb daily deals throughout July

I managed to pick up the 4LP Springsteen Live at Hammersmith Odeon in my local record shop on Saturday – it had a WeAreVinyl download coupon inside. I assume the brand hadn’t launched on Record Store Day, so I guess they are reissuing RSD releases – I see they have a few releases from previous RSDs on the site.

I thought the Springsteen 4LPwas limited release – copies were on the web for £100 after RSD (I paid £36), it seems not to be the case and some collectors will be annoyed.

Seems completely reasonable that Paul would run a piece like that, sponsored by Sony. It’s clear that is the case, and as someone else pointed out, it only states the facts. At the end of the day, he has to make the blog viable and it is a relevant offer which could be good for some of us, as some of the prices are very competitive… it certainly drew me to the classic first Santana album today… although ultimately the £4 postage makes it cheaper at £12.99 on Amazon. That’s the name of the game with these record company owned online stores… The Sound Of Vinyl consistently looks cheaper than Amazon at advertised prices, until you add postage and the whole equation generally changes. They even ran a “free postage” offer last weekend but only allowed it in one delivery per account. So I tried ordering some of the Elton John reissues, but unless I waited until October to receive everything, only one of them would be postage free!

No need to get rude mate. Like it was pointed out already noone forces you to buy anything after reading here about it.
For me this site is quite a time saviour and even if i looked at the websites covered here on a regular basis i fear that i still wouldn’t find all of the offers that might be of interest for me.
On the downside like also pointed out by other members of this forum before it can become quite expensive to visit this site because of the great offers that are posted here.
I have no problem whatsoever with Paul taking money from the record companies because in the end it’s still me who decides what i want to buy and what i want (make that can) to spend for it.

I didn’t even notice the disclaimer, I had to scroll back up and have a look. No problem for me.

This is one of the most honest forums for music I visit!
If any one bothered to check the offers, like I did, there is no post charges.
What do people want from Paul and this site, any one can see the passion and and professional attitude he takes to any thing done on this site.
I cant wait to open it up each time, though it keeps me poor!
I hope everything is as it should be!

Paul simply states the facts of the deal, not like he’s gone overboard and said it’s the deal of the century etc etc I found out about this deal 3 days ago, looked into it and decided it wasn’t worth it with the additional postage. Paul has put us onto some cracking deals so if don’t trust him don’t read the blog and don’t buy the products !

Not a problem and I appreciate you have to make some money. Just eats into my impression of your impartiality.

Haven’t Sony recently announced they are opening a new pressing plant?

Looks like they are jsut trying to shift dead stock. so much vinyl is in production many titles are simply unsellable. Things like the Dirty Dancing soundtrack you can find in any charity shop or record shops £1 bin !!

Hmmm, I can see what they are trying to do, get people to go back every day. What is the situation with postage? Now, if I wanted 6 or 7 of these titles why would I go back 6 or 7 times and pay 6 or 7 sets of postage of typically £3.95. They can’t know whether you will be back for more so one would be billed at every sale. So if it’s £9.99 + postage every time it doesn’t seem like quite the deal….
