The fast, but furious, xPropaganda competition (as announced on Saturday Deluxe) is now over and we have a lucky winner…
Congratulations to Dave Farrell who has won a pair of tickets (my tickets!) to see Claudia Brücken and Susanne Freytag (and band) play A Secret Wish in full at The Garage in London, on Saturday 24 March!

By the way, the xPropaganda gig on Saturday night was great fun. The band looked like they really enjoyed it and the atmosphere throughout the evening was really terrific.
Both Suzanne and Claudia sang fantastically well.
The sound overall was great. All the songs had the recognisable backing elements to them but they were really enhanced by the live musicians including drums, keyboards, trumpet and guitars.
They played the full album and then for the encore they played
– Thought (part 1) – it’s on the deluxe CD and they introduced it as a tribute to Andreas, who I believe was a founding member of the band who sadly passed away a few years ago. It was a quirky but funny number to do.
Then they performed their version of ‘Femme Fatale’ which I recall was on Dr Mabuse 12″ and they finished with Duel (again!)
The band came on just after 8:30 and finished just before 10pm – I’ve never been out of a gig that early before!
But it was quality not quantity on the night and if you have tickets for Heaven 17’s Luxury Gap tour later in the year then you will really enjoy Propaganda as a support/double act.
So, thanks Paul for running the competition for “Your” tickets – Roll on the next competition!

Thanks Dave. Appreciate the report.. sounds really great! Gutted I missed this one but unexpectedly saw Jack White play in Brooklyn last Friday and that was an amazing experience. Might try and get to a Heaven 17 gig to see xPropaganda. I still have a massive interview with Claudia and Stephen Lipson to publish… so watch this space!

Wow, I cannot believe I have won these tickets – it’s like a dream within a dream ;-)
The last time I won anything was back in 1983 when I won choice of 3 chart 7″ singles on a pirate radio station back in Dublin in 1983!
