Deal alert / Underworld: Second Toughest in the Infants super deluxe

This is one for UK fans only, but last years rather pricey Second Toughest in the Infants Underworld super deluxe edition is now available much more cheaply…

The four-CD box includes the 1996 album, singles, B-sides, previously unreleased tracks and a whole disc devoted to the iconic Born Slippy (Nuxx). This is just £39,99 at the moment on HMV in the UK (who will only ship within the UK – although shipping is free!). It was £65 when released at the end of November (see price comparison widget for a ‘sanity check’ on current pricing at other retailers).

I had been uming & aaring as to where to buy it from, £39.99 from amazon or HMV both with free postage. On Friday I popped into my local HMV & found on the racks for the same price.
I’ll take one, thankyouverymuch.

I emailed you about this a few weeks ago Paul, but this set is still only $48.99 USD at the Universal Great Offer Store here: https://greatofferstore.com/*/Boxset-Offers/Second-Toughest-In-The-Infants-Super-Deluxe/4VMX065C000

I am a third party marketplace seller on Amazon for older, rarer items and ship within hours. Just sayin”. But in fairness I have often had issues with receiving the wrong version of a disc. Example: The regular pressing, not the remaster, the older, not the deluxe etc.

no offense against your point of view which is the convenient and much cheaper option.
However I personally don’t trust streaming services much, offers on streaming portals are often withdrawn (and very sudden and without notice), get censored (films, books) so I always look to have those releases that I really like and want in physical format (or download at least) at my home.
People living in the US might have a more relaxed point of view towards streaming because restrictions or deletions might appear less often but in other parts of the world this is rather common.

I agree with your stance, 2wicky, on streaming services. But, I personally, I didn’t buy this and the “Dubno…” set for the music so much as the objet d’art (same goes for most SDEs I own). In fact, I haven’t listened to the discs of either set yet. And when I do get to them on my “to listen” list, I’ll realistically only listen to the bonus discs once (perhaps more if they really inspire me to rip them to my phone). So for just listening to the music, I’d probably find Edward’s stream to be sufficient as the file permanence wouldn’t be an issue (though I think I’ll never ever subscribe to a streaming service, so…).

fantastic looking box-set and would consider myself a fan but the fact I can stream all these extra tracks takes the need for me to spend £40, sadly

Shame they don’t send to The Netherlands. I will just have to wait some more.

Brilliant! job done been looking at this for months
couldn’t justify the price. Thanks again Paul

Your widget says Amazon US has it for $68.75, but it’s actually $91.37, and has been for some time. What’s up with that?

Ah, thanks. I rarely look at third party sellers, as they look about as reliable as the bulk sellers on eBay (with whom I have had not very good luck much of the time). Good to know.

Rarewaves is a reliable seller, in my experience.

Adam, you need to look at these sellers I buy 75% of my music and I do buy a lot, from market place sellers. Check out their reliability ratings, I never buy from anyone rated under 95%. They do take longer to deliver than Amazon but you can save on price. Amazon also have a refund scheme if you do have a problem.

Still kicking myself that I didn’t pick up the Dubnobass… SDE from Great Offers Store when they had it for £25 last year. Hindsight…..

it’s not far off that on Amazon.co.uk on and off, keep an eye on it.

It’s £25.54 on Amazon right here, right NOW!

Jakob Rehlinger

I’ve learned to not pre-order these. If they a 3rd in the series, I’ll be waiting to buy it on Amazon for half-price.

Chris Lancaster

The set has been £34.99 at http://www.greatofferstore.com for a couple of months now. I’ve just checked, and it’s still available at that price. A delivery charge of £6.95 makes it more expensive than HMV, but it’s worth bearing in mind if you miss out on the HMV offer. I got my copy from there in March.

This is one of those times when I wish I was a fan of the artist because the box set is so tasteful and pretty.
