[…] Box Recorder say “told you so” by including a CD in their Life Is Unfair VINYL box set that isn’t in the CD […]
The vinyl box set is down to £47 on Amazon!
So, I preordered!
Does anyone know what the quality of the live cd is like in the vinyl box set? Have the cd box already but might get the vinyl one too if the quality is nice enough. Have asked BBR about a single release of this for us cd box set owners but after saying they’d look at it I’ve heard nothing. Any thoughts appreciated.
I pondered this, this way and that, but couldn’t justify the big extra price for the same music, just for an extra live bonus CD. So, I went for the compact and secure CD box, and it’s just arrived, lovely.
If the live bonus pops up on Spotty, lemme know, yeah?
BBR vinyl box and Andrew Ridgeley memoir announced the same day? SDE and Sarah Nixey are clearly on the same wavelength. Great news on BBR. As a confirmed Luke Haines nut, this is a must have.
Haha… yes, the connection wasn’t lost on me :)
Nice, especially as I’ve been looking on Discogs etc and you’ll normally see ‘England Made Me’ on vinyl for £100+ so £64 for all 3 albums seems a bit of a bargain.
fantastic band, great news !!
So glad I checked into the site today – got all of the original cds but nothing on vinyl, delighted that this popped up again, I didn’t think it would. Ordered from Bandcamp. Cheers!
Certainly an odd way to present the material, I was waiting for the rarities and live stuff to be on vinyl too. True it would have bumped up the price but surely having vinyl in a vinyl box set and CDs in a CD box set isn’t too much to ask??
If only Luke Haines would sing this….
Life is unfair. But OLI is worse.
The quality of the filmed live recording on the DVD is atrocious.
I doubt the Train Driver in Eyeliner tribute concert was filmed with the intent to commercially release it, but more for posterity’s sake. Its a bonus curio to an otherwise excellent box set and, I suspect, not the main reason anyone bought the CD box or the main reason anyone will buy the vinyl box.
Thanks Paul for the head´s up! I actually didn’t know about this group until I read on your site. Got the vinyl box from Bandcamp, including the complete download in FLAC. Great listening already!
This looks incredible. Has there been any indication as to how limited this is?
Don’t know, but I’d be amazed if they’d pressed any more than 1000…
Ouch, so if I have the cd boxset and want the live cd I have to buy the vinyl boxset??
Life is unfair indeed
