Good Omens is getting much publicity right now as a ‘major’ Amazon Prime TV series is imminent. This will star  David Tennant, Michael Sheen, Jon Hamm. It tells the story of how the fallen angel/demon Crowley and the angel Aziraphale work together to prevent the coming of the antichrist.

The novel was adapted and co-directed for BBC Radio 4 in 2014 by the award-winning Dirk Maggs who also tackled The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, amongst others. This is the first time it has been released on vinyl.

[…] have put together the acclaimed Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy vinyl packages as well as Good Omens, Pratchett’s collaboration with Neil Gaiman, memorably adapted for TV on Amazon […]

Ooohhh that’s damn pretty !!
… £100 pounds though in NZ$$ … maybe not .

Heap and Serafinowicz. There is a talented pair.

Serafinowicz is a real odd bod, so super talented and yet he always seems to be so aloof as if to prove he is not really trying. If you haven’t seen the Peter Serafinowicz show, youtube it, it’s brilliant (his Wogan is superlative). And as far as his marriage goes, lucky sod, he’s really punchin’ (as my daughter would say).
On Topic, as far as the record goes £99 for seven sides of spoken word is a tad steep, however it won’t be around long I don’t think. Particularly with Mr. Gaiman’s stamp of approval.

To answer CJ Feeney’s question, below, I have listened to the first two Hitchhiker’s (I bailed after two) and Alan Partridge and they sound fine, the mass of dialogue doesn’t put the same pressure on the vinyl real estate that music does. Nothing so far has made me think “ooh, that’s off”.

Looks as good a package as the Hitch-hikers ones and with the signed print, ordering this is a no-brainer.

CJ Feeney

That looks very nice. Can I just clarify, when you say etched side B, does that apply to every disc? It would be exreme to put it a double album on 4 LPs

It would also be good if Gaiman’s Neverwhere radio series (6x 30mins) came in this format.

Can anyone comment on how the long sides sound on these radio vinyl discs.

This is the radio adaptation with a different cast

I’m getting rather jealous of radio/comedy fans as they do appear to have much higher quality/interesting releases than other genre (including soundtracks) – and from the comments of others on here, they more than live up to their expectations…

It’s strange to buy the soundtrack of a TV series that’s not released yet but I’m a fan of Gaiman so I just can’t resist. :-)

This isn’t a soundtrack to the TV series: it’s the BBC Radio 4 version. ;)
