Norah Jones / Pick Me Up Off The Floor

Norah Jones / Pick Me Up Off The Floor

Norah Jones issues a new album, Pick Me Up Off The Floor, in June.

Like last year’s Begin Again this album features a number of collaborators including Brian Blade and Jeff Tweedy. Incidentally, it seems that Begin Again is not regarded as a ‘proper’ album because Pick Me Up Off The Floor is described by Jones’ team as her seventh studio album.

You can preview the first song from Pick Me Up Off The Floor, the laid back acoustic lilt of ‘I’m Alive’, above.

In terms of formats there’s an ‘indies-only’ black and white vinyl pressing along with standard black vinyl and CD editions. Rumours of a deluxe CD coming, but no details as yet.

Pick Me Up Off The Floor will be released on 12 June 2020 (was 8 May).

I believe the Japanese edition will feature a DVD-or at least one version of the disc, which I have preordered. Also SHM CDs, Universal’s usual format.

The vinyl looks very tempting!

Signed Coloured LPs and CDs Available from Newbury Comics In the USA – they only ship these within the USA – most of the time Newbury ship worldwide! If you sign up to Stackry or another mail forwarding service you can get them shipped on Cheapish!

No signed LPs by Norah Jones available at Newbury Comics – never was. Just signed CDs.

I’ve read that this album is compiled from various recordings from previous albums that failed to make the cut at the time. Maybe picked up from the floor where they were discarded at the time?

The entire video is Norah Jones singing in the background of a party as everyone drinks wine and plays cards while nobody pays attention to the music. Seems a little too on the nose there.

I finf her sonincredibly boring though. Maybe i just cant shake her debut tracks where i felt that there was nothing original about tackling GAS tracks. Also i cannot stand her voice. Sorry bit the Christine comments i read inspired me to be honest too.

“…the Christine comments…?”

I’m with you on her. It’s almost painful to listen to her.

I would love an SCAD. Her other ones are fantastic.

I See Jeff Tweedy in the vid…

All new songs I believe. Nothing repeated from the
recent singles and collaborations, right?
