ELO / Original Album Classics
Good value five-CD ELO and Jeff Lynne set that features the albums Armchair Theatre, Zoom, Mr. Blue Sky: The Very Best Of ELO, Longwave and Electric Light Orchestra Live. Mr Blue Sky contains Jeff Lynne’s re-recordings of the ELO classics, not the originals.
Tom Waits / Heartattack and Vine (vinyl reissue)
Tom Waits‘ sixth studio album was issued in 1980 and was the last on the Asylum label. This has been remastered and is reissued on vinyl.
Eddie and The Hot Rods / The Island Years (6CD box)
Generous six-CD set of Canvey Island pub rock that includes the following albums: Teenage Depression (1976), Life On the Line (1977), Thriller (1979), BBC Sessions, BBC In Concert and Rods Fan Club LP.
Richard Thompson / 13 Rivers (new album)
13 Rivers is Richard Thompson‘s first collection of new material since 2015. Recorded in Los Angeles he has produced the record himself.

I’m looking forward to Angel the Casablanca years box set. Probably in the minority here”
Mine’s on order too!!

Original album series are always just the original CD versions, never the remastered versions”
….except the Cheap Trick which had the full bonus boosted reissues.
That Jarre cover looks like he got snapped by Thanos…
I really want the BluRay for the Bananarama release, but it only comes in the giant photobook pack, and I can’t justify the extra $100 for just the one disc. guess I’m going to settle for the DVD.
I bought it on Pledge. Has it now closed?
Thank you for the heads up on a different place to look. I’m apparently a bit out of touch on this release.
Hi Paul…..
You forgot to mention
Joni Mitchell – Live at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970 Blu-Ray out also on the 14th!!
Only $16.39 US at Amazon.com
I’m looking forward to Angel the Casablanca years box set. Probably in the minority here
That ELO box looks great although looks like it doesn’t have the bonus tracks from the reissues of a few years back. Still great place to pick up those albums…does show that Jeff Lynne just considers ELO to be solo albums now! Only missing the excellent Alone In The Universe..
For E.L.O.-supporters who are interested in vinyl: According to Jeff Lynne’s website there will be a release of “The U.K. Singles 1974-1978″ through Legacy Records on September 21st, including 16 vinyl 7” from that timeframe.
Original album series are always just the original CD versions, never the remastered versions
Sorry to say Mark, but that’s not true.
Out of my head i remember OAC-releases e.g. by The Byrds, Weather Report and Cheap Trick which all included the remastered versions, even with bonus tracks and i’m quite sure that there are more.
So many of these comments are cranky as hell. Hey fellas, this website is a godsend, costs you absolutely nothing to enjoy, and has brought to your attention scores of amazing releases/reissues that we would have otherwise missed. Many of you would do well to remember this.
Stan C; I’m sure we’d also be cranky if we lived a life of celibacy in our mothers basement. That said, people tend to complain most when something is free.
I’d more that happy with the service that folks on this site provide.
rock on til the break a’dawn.
The original version of Bananarma’s ‘Aie A Mwana’ from 1971 by Yamasuki (and known as Aieaoa) is superb, as is the whole album that was given a reissue by Finders Keepers about 10 years ago.

Some more trivia: Yamasuki is actually the the dad of Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk.
That Eddie/HotRods set is a bargain if you go the German Amazon website
Thanks for the reminder, Mark. Madness. I was going to hold off buying this for a couple weeks, bu that reminder meant I was all in.
Wasn’t sure where to post this, but to anyone who ordered the Brian Eno Installations set from the (US?) Amazon for that crazy bargain-basement price highlighted in a deal a month or so back, has anyone else had the dreaded “item is no longer for sale” email? I got mine at weekend, so bah to that. I guess it’ll teach me for being a tightwad and was designed to persuade me to part with the £200 or whatever the deluxe box set is…
Yes, I also received that e-mail.
I’ve been let down by Amazon on the Eno box as well. I wonder if they actually shipped any for the advertised price!
Same here. Ah well.
Me too, but was worth the try.
I put in 2 separate orders and both got cancelled at Amazon, call this past weekend
That’s really a shame. This is why I miss Amazon having some competition–when there were other sites to go for, there was a mistake in the listing for the 5-disc Michael Jackson box set when it was up for pre-order. They listed is for $6.99 when it was supposed to be $69.99. I jumped on the pre-order and figured I wouldn’t actually get it. Sure enough, two months later, when release day came, they shipped it for $6.99. They owned their mistake and made good on it. I guess they have to punch every penny now that they’re a trillion dollar company.
@CJ:
Amazon accepting their goofs don’t always happen. A number of years ago, I caught Porcupine Tree’s In Absentia DVD Audio for 97 cents. Told a few people about it. Still got mine for 97 cents but some got their orders canceled.
Why there is absolutely not a word on your site about the reissue of all siouxsie and the banshees albums on vinyl ?
Because I can’t write about everything.
Thank gawd. Some of us have to eat. ;-)
I understand, It’s just that you talked about the siouxsie cd box sets in the past so I thought that maybe you could say something about those reissues. But anyway, you right, hard to write about everything. Thanks ;)
Might still give them a mention… sorry!
I accept that Paul can’t write about everything, especially on a personal website that’s free to everyone. That’s why i make sure to read all of the comments on the “out this week” postings–because anything he misses, someone else will provide the info for. And here it is–Siouxie and the Banshees are also putting out something this week. Wish I was into vinyl, but now I know.
And that’s the understated benefit of this amazing site–the community that posts on it and brings their own bits of information to the party as well! Thanks Phillipe, for sharing the information with us!
The Bananarama discs are worthwhile if you’re even a slight fan. So fun.
Booo to Demon reissuing that Suede vinyl the week before their new album. Poor show.
Suede would have approved that, I think.
I pre ordered the Paul McCartney green vinyl LP via his Official Store which due to be released last Friday. It’s not in stock yet. Could take up to 2 weeks I was told by customer services. Surely the production of the green vinyl would have been prepared months ago? An artist’s official store who can’t supply a new release for release date. Not the first one either. Pathetic.
Did not know about the Eddie and the Hot Rods box.
Great to see this as their 2 first albums are classic punk (?) albums.
Weller’s 14th solo album ; 26th of career
Let’s not start that up again. We’ve already had that discussion.
I feel your pain Paul:)
Good info on the E.L.O./Jeff Lynne-release which seems like a good companion piece to “The Complete Albums Collection” and will be available here in Germany for less than EUR 10 sometime soon, i’m sure.
