Singles soundtrack delayed ’til May

The previously announced deluxe edition of the soundtrack to the 1992 film Singles will now be released in May.

We do now have the revised cover art to the Cameron Crowe movie soundtrack – which boasts a sepia tint – but the vinyl and 2CD deluxe editions are now due on 19 May.

Update: The vinyl edition is actually 2LP+CD – it comes with CD 2 from the two-CD deluxe edition

According to the description on amazon.com this will be a 2LP-Release with the bonus tracks on a CD.

Why would they not just release a reissue of the LP? The bonus tracks seem to all be repeats of the same tracks with very few new additions. I certainly don’t need a 3 LP version of this… pair it down to something listenable rather than just adding crap. Added crap does not a good reissue make.

The delay works for me, i was considering cancelling pre-order as there’s too many releases coming out right now for me, but May works just fine.

I havent ever sold vinyl before but now finding i’m running out of room, will look to sell my Singles vinyl, 65mins on one vinyl too long anyway so no special need to keep it. Looking forward to the reissue.

So there is no delay then, May is merely the official release date…?

Given the topic of the film the soundtrack comes from, it seems appropriate for it to be late!

I can never work out why these things get announced and then pushed back. Surely when they do announce them they already have the music ready to go, hence said announcement, so why the subsequent delay(s)?
