  1. Final postscript to this … I contacted amazon.de using the chat feature, and in poor German was able to arrange a refund with the help of a very patient and helpful customer service rep there. In the words of the Bard: all’s well that ends well. Thanks again, Paul.

  2. Very disappointed. The package arrived today, but the flimsy packet that should have contained the Fotheringay set was torn and empty. No packing slip, no CD/DVD set. I have to send the empty packaging back to Germany, quite possibly at a cost that will drive the bottom-line price of my purchase to what it would have cost to get the set from Amazon US. And there is still no guarantee that the replacement will arrive intact. My previous experience with shipping from an Amazon site in Europe was also disappointing … the Beach Boys Made In California set arrived very poorly packed, CDs were loose in the box, and it was a miracle that the CDs didn’t come out of the gaping tears/holes in the box. I still have two box sets from the Easter sales that I’m expecting in the next few weeks, but I seriously doubt now that these packages will arrive in any better shape than the first two.

My days of shopping at Amazon UK and Germany are over.

    1. Sorry to hear this Steven. Seems to be very hit and miss with Amazon. It’s either excellent over-the-top box-within-a-box type packaging, or virtually nothing, like the guy whose ABBA vinyl box was sent with no packaging to Australia!

  3. Strange choice of title, don’t you think? Is this really the last word on Fotheringay? I think people have already said some recordings are missing. I’d be surprised if there actually wasn’t “A Little More” somewhere, sometime in the future — radio sessions, obscure outtakes, the inevitable remixes…

I guess we should be thankful it wasn’t called “Too Much Of Nothing”!

  4. Thanks for the original tip, and for the JPC tip. JPC is the same price, but their shipping is slightly less — plus they have their site in English.

  5. Cheers Paul. I was always going to buy it, but the £38 Amazon UK price wasn’t attractive. Cheapest elsewhere was £35, so this is a great saving. Just over £23 including postage.
