  8. Well, I played Nebraska last night and I have to say I didn’t like it at all. The only Springsteen album that I own is The Rising and I love it. I am beginning to think that I may be more suited to a volume 2 box set.
    Anyway I will now start listening to the other albums in the order they were released. I will surely like The River at least.

  10. Bob- you’ll either love or hate Nebraska! It’s such a lo fi recording. I love the songs on the album but prefer live versions to the album versions

    1. I can’t name Nebraska as my favorite, but it’s the only one where I’m genuinely interested in the additional material and backstory that would come with the deluxo treatment. It was dark and sort of gutsy coming after The River, which as I recall was a mixed bag and not nearly as revered in its own time. And Nebrasksa was sort of under-represented on Tracks, so there’s that.

    1. Onnie, there are no live recordings here, these are the original studio recordings with no extra tracks. As for 12″ mixes, that was never Springsteen’s thing. A handful of Born in the USA era alternative versions came out in 84-85. I suspect Bruce had little to do with the actual remixing.

    1. I have the original CDs , including the Born to Run and Darkness… deluxe box sets, but hoping these remasters are as good as they say. For £25 it’s worth it. Oh and by the way, the Boss is at his best when he’s rocking.

  14. I have only one Springsteen album ‘The Rising’ which I love and I was looking to buy ‘Nebraska’ as I heard that it is more acoustic and less rocky than his other albums. However I decided to take a punt on this given the price. I am sure there will be a couple of albums I like in this package.

  21. Grabbed it this morning, finally. I have now bought this, the Simon and Garfunkel box and the Sparks box in the past couple of weeks. Hope no more deals come up for a while….
