Reconstructed: The Definitive DJ Shadow box set

Reconstructed: The Best of DJ Shadow is due on 24 September in one-disc and two-disc editions, but a special made-to-order deluxe box set is also being released, with sets due to ship on 12 November.

Reconstructed: The Definitive DJ Shadow box set will consist of seven CDs, one DVD and a 180gsm 12-inch vinyl, housed in a 12-page black laminated and embossed wire-bound book. The book sits in a 6mm thick black acrylic slipcase which comes engraved and infilled with glow-in-the-dark pigment. Each box set comes with a numbered certificate signed by DJ Shadow

The four CD discs are presented in pockets to the inside front cover. Three CD discs and one DVD disc are presented to the inside back cover. The vinyl record is held within a pocket bound into the inside back cover.

This set is £170 and can be pre-ordered from the DJ Shadow website.

Some top-notch music contained within, but it does seem to be the ultimate example of selling music for high prices to people who already own it. Six of the eight discs are readily available & the other two (plus the record, depending on what’s on it) are the only thing of interest to people will to plonk down a few hundred dollars. And no, I’m not going to pay that much money for one cd, one dvd & one record I don’t already own.

A very puzzling release, I must say.
