  1. Looking at the vinyl edition, the considerable length of the 70’s volume would have made it wise to have included just one more record, rather than mashing too much music on each side. Running times of 25 minutes plus are definitely going to affect the audio quality. Wonder if Matthew had any input on that? The 60’s & 80’s albums should sound just fine.

  2. Paul, do you have any idea why the vinyl box has yet to show up on Amazon, DeepDiscount, ImportCDs or any other online retailer here in the United States? We Americans are getting hosed. Is it a distribution problem? Anyway you can find out for us? By the way, enjoyed your video.

  3. Many, many thanks for the videos Paul. I love em and have bought pretty much all the ones you did. Your kindness and sense of humor shines through. Many thanks for what you do! I so love this site!

  4. Hey Paul Sinclair
May I request an unboxing video for SDEtv?
I have enjoyed your Queen & a-ha videos.
Can you do an unboxing video for “Bananarama In A Bunch: The Singles 1981-1993”?
At the moment there’s none on Youtube. Yes I am aware it’s 33CDs, but I trust with your LPs handling skills you can easily limit the duration to <10 minutes.
I already ordered my set, but since I am overseas the box is sitting pretty in my sister's house awaiting my return.
    Pretty please?

  5. I love the unboxing videos, long may they continue and I’m looking forward to this being released…although you might want to add an ‘S’ onto the ‘Hoff’ on your video :-p

  6. There’s no substitute for seeing the products like this; all the flowery record label PR in the world doesn’t help you know what things will actually be like once you get them in the post, or see them on a store display (if you’re that lucky!).

It’s a great feature and as a self-confessed “fusspot” myself, I don’t see anything amiss in Paul’s handling of the vinyl!

That said, I won’t be paying the extra £33 for these LPs over the CDs.

  7. I’d ditch your video unboxings, they are very ‘nerdy’ and you look like someone who isn’t at all careful with their vinyl/cds, etc. I wouldn’t let you handle mine!

    1. Personally can’t see whats wrong with Paul’s handling
technique?? As for nerdy the very fact of being on a site
for deluxe editions of music makes us all a little nerdy surely?
Or do you live in a cave mumbling “my precious?”

    2. I would ignore that comment Paul.

A chance to see the product before buying with an overview commentary is more than adequate and most people viewing this site will see the videos as a nice follow-on from the written previews.

The way people whine about handling vinyl makes me wonder why they bother with it as a medium. The care needed before and after playing it for enthusiasts is such an obvious pain.

I’m more than happy with my hi-res 5.1 blurays and hi-res digital files. If I want to see enlarged artwork or lyrics I have that online. I do remember when vinyl and cassette were the only option and would never go back.

    3. I don’t mind how Paul handles the records in a video.
he is making a video showing the product, not giving a 101 on record handling. he has a lot going through his mind, what to cover, mention etc.

I love the videos, they are now my favourite part of the site.
aside from making me want everything that is shown, Paul has a
lovely manner and friendly voice and this all comes across.

keep making the vids Paul please

      – george
      *nerdy and proud

  8. Hi Paul
Sorry to jump on this thread but are you going to be reviewing the Bowie CD box anytime soon? I haven’t bought it yet and am waiting for your opinion on it before I take the jump.
