I was tempted to get this until i noticed the postage was £7.
I finally pulled the trigger on the Simple Minds box, after months of procrastination. It was only after I had paid that I remembered the whole issue with the DVD-A disc!
Anyway, I was stunned when, after ordering it yesterday morning (25/11) at 9.30am, it arrived this morning! I only paid for regular shipping too!
Upon opening, I verified the matrix codes on the DVD and am happy to report that the disc is the corrected version, as is the booklet :-)
… And iirc Elvis was £65.
Slade was £75 – all claimed eventually but percentage was going up and down between 40% and 60% for ages.
Can anyone tell me what the deal price of Slade, a-ha, Elvis and The Who was? I didn’t have internet access when those deals were live, unfortunately. Thanks.
Slade was £74.99 and IIRC Elvis was @£80 so neither were anything special. Alright if you planned to buy anyway but wouldn’t sway a fencesitter.
£75 for Slade is good, is it not?
I look at the percentages so 40%+ is where I start getting interested. Some of the DVD sets in these Lightning Deals have been 50/60% off so 25% didn’t strike me as that great. As I said if you were gonna buy it anyway then happy days but those who aren’t that sure might’ve been swayed by a more generous discount.
Fair enough, but when you consider that Slade has literally only just come out, I think 25%+ is a decent discount. 40% – 50% on stuff like Nirvana’s Nevermind SDE is more appropriate, because that seems ANCIENT now :)

The Simon and Garfunkel box was / maybe still is £22 at my local HMV last week in Leeds.

That Simple Minds set is no longer at that price perhaps because of that warning about it not being as described.
