NewsEels / The Deconstruction
Eels return in April with a new album, The Deconstruction.
The band’s 12th studio long-player contains 15 songs and you can preview the title track below. Fans in the UK/Europe should head over at the official Eels Store where the album can be pre-ordered in various special editions, including a double 10-inch yellow vinyl pressing (33RPM) and a vinyl box set edition that contains two 12-inch pink vinyl records (pressed at 45RPM), a CD, a lyric book an artwork print and more.
The band will be touring this year and as tends to be the way these days, fans who purchase anything from the webstore are rewarded with pre-sale access to tour dates. In this instance, the UK tour (pre-sale starts on Tuesday 23 January). The 2018 World Tour starts in California at the end of May and you can view all the dates here.
The Deconstruction will be released on 6 April 2018.

A new E and the guys álbum… finally!!!!!!!!! It been a long time since the last one (got the chance to see them playing live on last tour and was one of best concerts i’ve never been, good music and a lot of laughs, just a Little too short and no “hidden” extra bis since being a place with no organ they couldn’t enjoy the show like does on the last live álbum at Royal Albert Hall.
And for Gareth and Evan with all my respects would like to disagree. As for me all the albums are totally great even the one a year period so is just a question of tastes after all.
Also for those they still didn’t read Mark autobiography book go for it without a doubt. In my case took me less of 24 hours to read it from the momento i bought it, that great addictive it is for sure…

Been waiting for ages for a new Eels album. Can’t wait. A bit disappointed with the vinyl box set. A bit over priced for what you get. It’s actually £4 cheaper from Record Store than from the Official store.
And what is it with artists who have bundles with t-shirts, hoodies etc ,or in Eels case a pair of socks? Autographed prints or special 7 inch singles containing unreleased tracks I get – but clothing? Do me a favour!

Great band but too damn prolific. I no longer look forward to an Eels album after Mark was churning them out every year for a period. Maybe now there’s been a 4-year gap, this one will actually be worth waiting for!
You know that an album a year used to be considered the norm, and that some bands even released two albums in teh same year, don’t you? :)

Totally agree Gareth. The Eels are still great and all, but Cautionary Tales was such a dud. It felt like a bunch of outtakes and leftovers from their previous few albums. Redundant and just overall uninspired. I’m glad they’ve taken some time off–some artists need to do that to get the creative juices flowing again. Hopefully this one will be worth the wait!
