Jungle Records have some bundles of the Hearbreakers LAMF record store day LP on purple vinyl available. This is cut from a new tape source and sounds to be a significant improvement from the samples available.

Heartbreakers sold out quickly. I was too slow this time.

Hello. I just spotted the 10-DVD issue of the Rush R40 live anthology down to £40.85 at Amazon.co.uk, a 65% discount off the usual excessive list price. That’s the first of my Christmas presents picked up for this year.
So My Prince Welcome 2 America Box Set Just Arrived from Amazon France – Absolute Joke packaging – Arrived with No Box and No Protection at all – needless to say 2 copies arrived damaged – now i have to pay £38.00 to return them
Buyers beware you have to pay shipping costs for returns to Amazon France and then they will pay you back up to a paltry 7 Euros – a Joke of a Policy for a Joke of a company with Joke Packaging
What person sends an expensive box set with absolutely Zero protection? AMAZON !!!
I’m done with Amazon !
I don’t know even know why it’s called a Box set? It’s not even in a Box but a Book………
My Prince Welcome 2 America Box set also arrived yesterday. It was ordered from Amazon France but actually posted from Scotland. And it was actually posted – delivered by Royal Mail on Tracked 48 service rather than usual Amazon van driver. It was in the standard thin & long Amazon packing box with the usual token scrunch of brown packaging paper. Condition was fine but more luck than anything.
I got caught on the Amazon EU return thing earlier in the year. I had to return a heavy box set to Latvia! and pay the shipping. Shipping was about £26 – the max they would refund in shipping was £15, so immediate loss there. Also a further problem as my return tracking ended with the item being stuck in Latvia customs. Took two months and three conversations but Amazon finally refunded the purchase price and the shipping as a “goodwill payment” – lot of unnecessary hassle though…..
As always many people chase cheap deals from euro sites without knowing what will happen if they need to return them. Amazon sites all operate separately, so though the majority of Amazon De/Fr etc orders are pulled from stock in a warehouse in Scotland when you return an item it need to go back to Europe so you will have to pay up-front international shipping costs then chase for a postage refund. I gave up on ordering from Amazon Fr/De as around 50% of orders were arriving damaged & the hassle of returning items via parcel force, paying the shipping myself up front , waiting up to 8 weeks for a refund of the item (and having to speak to customers services every time for a refund of the return shipping costs) outweighed the average £10 per item saving I was making. I spend thousands with Amazon so they have always refunded my return shipping costs (at around £27 a time for a box set) as I guess they want to keep my custom , but others only seem to receive partial refunds so people should be aware that return shipping costs over 7 euros may only be offered as a goodwill payment (or partial payment) so you may actually lose money if you need to return an item.
Not strictly true Nick P – Amazon euro sites have a set return postage refund fee of 7 euros but if you speak to customer service & explain the circumstances they will often refund the complete return cost if you send them proof of postage. I returned 2 box sets to Amazon France at a cost of £54 & they refunded the full cost to me , so use your initiative & actually speak to them.
Just for clarity – if you order direct from a European Amazon site, then the set refund amount for return postage is 7 Euros. If however you buy from the seller “Amazon EU” but on the UK site, then you still have to return to a depot in Europe and the max return postage is £15.
New Order “Power, Corruption & Lies” box now only €57 on Amazon Netherlands, with shipping to only Netherlands and Belgium (unless that has changed now?).

Aimed primarily at US-based virtual crate diggers I suppose, but this weekend many learned a bit late that GameStop sells vinyl, and their weekend crew went crazy with blowout inventory reduction pricing.
Deals that are still live and fit this description include The Beach Boys 2LP Sounds of Summer compilation @ $6.97, and AC/DC Highway to Hell at $8.76. Free US shipping after $35.
Ugh, the ones that got away—Queen GHII for 9 and change. In any event, another destination to pop into your Rolodex.
Sign O The Times CD super deluxe currently £85 on ebay sold by Music Magpie, with a 15% discount until 5 August that’s just over £72. Finally cheap enough for me to justify buying it!
Prices tumbling all over the place on this one. Suspect warehouse space is being cleared for the new Prince title. There’s another established Ebay seller currently with SOTT CD super deluxe at £72.99 – then offering a code “STARTAUGUST8” (expires Aug 5) which gives a further 8% discount making £67.15 total – free postage
I can’t find that, but I can see the 4LP set for that price.
The seller was “Jamieison”. They now only have one copy left and the price has increased to £149! They have still got the 8% discount but that is of little use at that starting price..
The Beatles in Mono down to £159.53 on Amazon UK this afternoon (Tuesday 3rd). Very tempted!
Had my eye on this for ages, couldn’t resist, thanks for the heads up
Very tempted to get this. I have considered buying this a number of times but there are so many fakes about, even direct from Amazon I believe, that I have never hit the button. They have 11 apparently.
As you say Pete, how would you know what to trust when it’s been sold out for years?
At least it’s from Amazon themselves not a 3rd party seller , so if any problems it’s very easy to return/refund
If you end up with a fake from Amazon, I can’t imagine you’d have any problem whatsoever getting a refund.
If anyone in Australia is interested, Amazon (AU, obviously) is offering Super Deluxe “Welcome 2 America” for $132, free delivery. Look under ‘other sellers’:
https://www.amazon.com.au/Welcome-America-Deluxe-LP-Blu-Ray/dp/B091DYSJ5Q
It says ‘temporarily out of stock’, but they’re still taking orders. That doesn’t guarantee anything of course, but at that price I’m taking the chance.

20% off Soul and Disco using “Souldisco20”, seems to include the new and old Level 42 box sets, £36 each (before P&P)
Thanks Nelson, there’s lots of decent sets on offer.
Rolling Stones Goats Head Soup SDE is down to £61.80 on Amazon UK at the moment. The price has been fluctuating between £64 and over £80 on that site for some weeks now but this is the cheapest I’ve seen it anywhere.
Although a great Stones fan (1st gig Stones Portsmouth Guildhall 17/07/1965) and collector, I have never really been inspired by their SDEs. I got the big Mono Box but I don’t think that I have any others.
The fact that so little interesting early stuff is available stopped me buying them. Perhaps it is time I started.
I too have been unimpressed with the previous SDEs of their studio albums (I do have a couple of their live SDEs) as I’ve found them a bit light on content. However, I was swayed with this one due to the inclusion of a Dolby Atmos surround mix and The Brussels Affair.
LiveHereNow currently have 20% off storewide including the clear vinyl edition of New Order’s NOMC15 live album.
More Prince reductions on Amazon UK – Piano & Microphone Vinyl & CD set £20.
And if there’s anybody that hasn’t got it already – Sign of the Times Vinyl big box – £189
Another few £ off the Beatles Get Back book (down to £26) on Amazon UK.
Who Sell Out SDE only £76 on Amazon France. Cheapest yet I think.

Cherry Red have 10% off everything on their site except pre-orders. Code is SUMMERSMASH10.
Black Francis 07-11 [Limited Edition 9CD Boxset With Signed Print]. On Amazon US $111.99.

Thanks once again for the heads up. With a gift card, took the Level 42 CD boxset down to £33. That’ll do me.
I just had mayhem with amazon over the level 42 box set as it was £52.99 when i ordered it and the day of release down to £40.99
i had my copy delivered today A Great package indeed. The actual missing tracks listed on the back page in this box set are no big deal in my opinion but would have been nice to include them as there is more room on a couple of the cds for more tracks. [By the way i got my account credited the £12 difference because of the pre-order money back policy] A must for all level 42 fans
I tend to find that Amazon apply the price guarantee refund automatically now. It usually doesn’t happen until a couple of days after release and sometimes surprises me because there was a brief price drop that I didn’t notice….
Neil Young Archives Vol.II CD set has a couple of £ off and is down to just under £100 on Amazon UK.
Level 42, The Complete Polydor Years Volume 2 now down to £40. Due to shipping to the US this deal is useless for me but hope others can take advantage.

The extremely limited (if you believe the hype) Paul Weller “Sunset” picture disc is only £19.99 at Sound of Vinyl at moment – only 493 copies left according to the counter… :)
Could anybody advise on import duty on cd’s from USA to UK ? I’m looking at buying a cd box set for £42, via a US seller on Amazon UK. I mailed the company who didn’t know if there would be duty to pay – can anybody here advise if there would be anything to pay ? Thanks.
Not particularly helpful but I bought a £40 box set in the same way about 2 months ago (US seller – All Your Music – on Amazon UK marketplace) and there was no duty. Might be luck of the draw but that was my experience.
Officially something like £17 is the limit.
I have always found All Your Music and Rarewaves (whether USA or UK) to land without duty, but of course I may have always been lucky with those two, but that’s lots of times. Other sellers I think it could attract duty if over the £17.
I’ll chance it then – whats annoying though is the carrier costs you can get stuffed with on top of the duty fee, once they intercept the parcel to extract funds. Death and taxes …..
I have noticed that some of the regular Amazon US sellers seem not to be actually posting from the US. The last two I got from Rarewaves were posted from a fulfillment centre in Milton Keynes. Last one from Import CDs seem to come that route as well.
18% import tax + £8 handling fee if the package is over c. $15. The seller be clear about whether they take the import tax for you at source. If payable at this end, asking the seller to quote the package value as being $15 when posting it should help you.
If you’re not too fussed about the full box set, the John Lennon – Imagine Ultimate Collection 2CD edition is £10 on Amazon UK.
TomPetty Finding Wallflowers alternate versions x 2 vinyl £15 amazon uk
have the cd version now I have the vinyl too !
£23 now. Good grief you really have to be lightning fast with these Amazon offers don’t you? Do they ever last longer than 24 hours?
Phil, it was actually at its lowest this morning, about £14.70 but had been falling for a couple of days and was about £16 on Tuesday. I bought it then at £16.26 and made a comment on Tuesday which was approved the other day (on the previous Sabbath deal alert as this new one wasn’t here then). The problem with Amazon is the bounce, slow incremental drops and then without warning a bounce to regular price. I could have saved a further £1.50 by waiting until earlier this morning to buy, but I’d risk missing the deal or have to spend the day ordering, cancelling and re-ordering with every 10p price drop, which really isn’t worth the time. I’m sorry you didn’t see the deal until it had gone, but this one wasn’t lightning. It often pays to read the comments on the deal posts as SDE readers often spot the deals first and Paul sometime highlights the best of them. Of course when Paul features them, they often don’t last long as I assume the Amazon algorithm can sense when there’s a lot of (SDE generated) interest in an item and bounces back up.
Super quiet on deals recently.
Couple of little things I spotted on Amazon UK this morning
Bob Dylan – Dylan 1970 is £14.89
Prince – Sign O The Times Super Deluxe CD set is £99.92
Gary Crowley’s new compilation, Lost 80s 2, is a couple of quid cheaper than last week at £25
SoTT at under £100 is an absolute bargain, although I can’t imagine there are many Prince fans that haven’t bought it yet.
I bought 4 copies, as every copy I bought from Amazon had scratched discs !
I guess not, as you probably sent a minimum of three copies back…
Your comment doesn’t really make much sense but I can see you’re feeling pedantic so let me clarify – after ordering the set 4 times (ie buying it 4 separate times – so yes I did purchase 4 copies) & each one being damaged I had hoped that I might be able to piece together a complete undamaged set from the 4 , but couldn’t do it so they all went back & now I just stream it if I ever get the (very rare) urge to listen to it.
If it’s Amazon you’re buying from then you shouldn’t be made to pay each time for a replacement. What I do when a bad box set turns up (and it does) is order a replacement and keep the original till the replacement arrives. Swap out the bad discs for good and return the set with the bad discs. You may even have to do this more than once to get a perfect set, but your bank balance shouldn’t suffer waiting for multiple refunds. Hope this is helpful.
Yes , As I mentioned I tried to make a set out of of the damaged copies, though Amazon also limits the amount of replacements they will offer -usually 2 or 3 depending on the set & then they will only offer a refund. My first set was from Amazon Germany when it was on a deal, the second on a deal from Amazon France (these DE/FR returns have to be returned to Germany/Slovakia at your own cost (£27 postage each) & they then reimburse you around 4 weeks later so returning multiple copies can cost £££ in international shipping – even though the French/German sets both originally shipped from Scotland) & the 3rd was from UK when the price dropped here & they only offered a refund as they were ‘temporarily out of stock’ so could not offer a replacement at the time. I have purchased the set a few times over the months each time with hope that this time I might actually get a decent set but gave up on this & now I’ll just stream it if I want to listen to it as I’m sick of returning copies.
Nobody does what you said yourself included. Internet feeds allow people to give their own truth as if its just as viable as the actual truth.
Not really sure who your vague comment is addressed to , if it’s me then you’re talking nonsense. I purchased a copy from Amazon.De, which was damaged , they offered a replacement which meant shipping the item back to Germany at my own cost & waiting 4 weeks for reimbursement with the potential of the same happening with a replacement so I reordered from Amazon France as the price had dropped to the same as Germany. This had to be returned to Slovakia -again at my own cost which they 4 weeks later reimburse . When the price dropped in the UK I gave it another chance & ordered from Amazon uk & had to return that copy & they were temporarily out of stock so only offered me a refund. Does this make sense to you now?
Hi Nathan,
I completely understand now what you did regarding the SOTT-SDE but that doesn’t mean that it makes sense to me…
Klaus, I’m not sure why buying & then returning multiple copies of a box set over a period of 4 months in the vain hope of finally getting an undamaged copy seems to be such a stretch for your brain.
Call it hope that you just got a dodgy set & the next one would be ok so you take another chance & order again, but when you have had 4 sets & all of them have the same damage eventually you get bored & give up.
Do we really need to keep this conversation going on!!??
