Shakespears Sister / Sacred Heart reissue

Two-CD deluxe and pink vinyl

Shakespears Sister / Sacred Heart reissue 2CD and pink vinyl
Sacred Heart was released in 1989

Shakespears Sisters debut album Sacred Heart is now available as a standalone two-CD deluxe edition and a pink vinyl pressing.

The 1989 album was initially included in the now out-of-print Our History box as a three-CD set and on black vinyl. If you missed out, or just didn’t fancy that big box, then now is your chance to obtain either the CD set (albeit reduced to two discs) and/or the now-coloured vinyl version, on their own.

Sacred Heart is reissued on pink vinyl and as a two-CD deluxe set

The track listing for the double-CD package is the same as the first two discs in the triple-CD set. The album has been remastered from original analogue tapes and the artwork has been restored and reproduced by original designer Lawrence Stevens.

This Sacred Heart reissue is out NOW although it’s only available via the band’s official store (for the time being).

  1. I ordered both cds (Sacred Heart and Hormonally yours) and that’s what’s on the invoice so it was a bit of a shock when I got home to find the Sacred heart CD and pink vinyl bundle. Think I’ll just keep it and order Hormonally yours. Really can’t be bothered sending it back.

  2. Ordered already! I’ve been waiting for this re-issue since “Hormonally Yours”. Great track listing for deluxe CD & colour for vinyl.

  3. The original album version of Dirty Mind is a great song and could have probably charted much, much higher if they had released the original album version as as single. Instead, they released a completely re-recorded and reworked version, which (IMHO) is vastly inferior and rather awful. Another one of those “What were they thinking?” moments.

  4. I’ve been hoping / waiting for this since Hormonally Yours earlier this year. Ordered straight away. It was nice to order something that is readily available for once instead of the 6 month preorder.

  5. Very expensive. An old album that already recouped its value . Not sure that any remaster was made, probably they are using the original lacquer ,not even a second disc for remixes. Just a pink colour pressing .Unaccectable.

      1. correct. the only thing i dont like is that they don’t respect the core album , and they put extras after the main tracklist. as with john lennon reissue and many others of course. yes, redbook cds can hold about 80 min of music data. But they can through them all on the second disc.

  6. The “Singles Party” deluxe CD is amazing, the Hormonally Yours reissue was great too, I always felt that the vinyl quality suffered due to playing time and would have been happy if it had been spread over 3 sides – the pricing isn’t bad either.

  7. A shame Run Silent (Revolution Dub) still hasn’t appeared on CD, one of my favourite remixes, a more aggressive version of the Revolution remix by William Orbit. That 1 track alone would have made me buy this release.

  8. Great album & ordered already – that completes their first 3 albums on ‘new’ vinyl. Maybe now they’ll finally get around to releasing a vinyl version of ‘Singles Party’ instead of just the ‘Rides Again’ EP? Fingers crossed…
