  1. Hey Paul, do you think they will ever re-release the standard LPs? I have the first one but not spilt milk and given how much that one goes for on Discogs, even for the 2012 reissue on Omnivore, surely there is a will to repress that? Any insights into if Newland might do that? The singles boxes going like hotcakes should prove there is a market for the main releases surely?

    1. Omnivore released four albums on vinyl:-

      Bellybutton
      Spilt Milk
      Radio Jellyfish (radio sessions compilation)
      Live at Bogart’s (2 LP)

and a fifth on CD only

      Stax-o-Trax (or something like that)

      1. Yep knew that but for me I am only interested in whether Omnivore may ever re-release any of them, but particularly ‘Spilt Milk’ as those first two are eye-wateringly expensive IF you can find them…discogs has them…much money

  2. Weirdly, the hype sticker is on the outside of the box stuck to the shrink-wrap on the black vinyl edition (at least the one I got), which I was a bit disappointed by – I prefer the way it’s actually on the box in your video.

    1. I believe that Paul cuts out the hype stickers from the cellophane wrapper and glues them back onto the packaging. Which is kind of obsessive … which is exactly what I do.

      1. The hype sticker on the colored vinyl version was actually stuck to the box not the wrapper. Glad to see I am in good company, though. I actually slowly peel them off so I can just stick them somewhere else. The only thing that annoys me more than the thin hype sticker that tears is a cheap unlined paper inner sleeve :)

  3. Another fantastic unboxing vid from Paul! Ordered my copy from SDE and received it several weeks ago. It is as fantastic a package in hand as it looks in the video.

I’m curious as to how popular Jellyfish were in the UK. While I wouldn’t consider them an underground band in the US, they certainly weren’t very well known. Not surprising given that their psych pop sound has never really been in favor with the masses here and most definitely not during their tenure.

  4. Hi Paul –
    The set does look great.
Luckily I snagged one from the SDE shop back when they went on sale.
Just wondering, out of interest) if you know when these will actually be shipping out?

    Many thanks Paul

      1. Hi Paul –
        So so so sorry.
It seems I ordered the black vinyl set not the coloured vinyl.
Really sorry about that – hope I have not put you through an hassle.

I should keep track of my orders more closely.

        Sorry
        Joe

          1. …and this is why I am such a huge fan of the SDE website. Where else will one get such excellent treatment?

Oh. And how do I go from “fanatic” to “legend”? :D

  5. Beautiful looking set – and not THAT expensive, given that it looks like they’ve done a decent job on the presentation and particularly the book.

Hoping for more Jellyfish goodies from NewLand in the New Year!

  6. for a minute there i lost myself and read this (wishful thinking) as a surround sound box. ya for the vinyl people but what i would give for jellyfish as part of the SDE Surround Sound Series………

  7. Paul, I have to ask – you didn’t flip any of the singles – what’s on the labels on the ‘B’ sides? I note all the track listings for both sides are on the A-sides. My imagination is running riot! :-)
