Last chance to order the Duran Duran blu-ray

Pre-order window about to close

Thank you for all your enthusiasm for the Duran Duran Danse Macabre blu-ray audio, which is No 13 in the SDE Surround Series. The pre-order window officially closes today, so this is your last chance (on the stairway) to secure a copy, although we’ll extend it for another couple of days until we reach the weekend!

The album features three brand new Duran Duran songs, covers of tracks by other artists including Talking Heads, Billy Eilish and Siouxsie & the Banshees and re-recordings of a few old Duran numbers, including B-side Secret Oktober. Andy Taylor returns to play guitar for much of this record!

The title track of Danse Macabre features Warren Cuccurullo on guitar

The Blu-ray Audio is a global exclusive for SDE and not available via any other retailer. It features two new immersive spatial audio mixes of Danse Macabre by Bob Clearmountain (Dolby Atmos and 5.1) as well as a hi-res stereo mix (96/24).

Don’t miss out! Place your pre-order by either heading off to the SDE shop using this link, or alternatively use the buy button (‘add to cart’) below. We ship worldwide and there’s now no extra charges for EU customers.

The Danse Macabre blu-ray audio is a collaboration between BMG and SDE and will be released on 27 October 2023. Your blu-ray will ship with a free collectors’ edition SDE Surround Series slipcase!

TECHNICAL NOTES: This blu-ray audio requires a blu-ray player. Decoding the Dolby Atmos mix requires a Dolby Atmos-certified soundbar or a Dolby Atmos-compatible AV Receiver/Amp. The Dolby Atmos mix will ‘fold down’ to 5.1 or stereo if a Dolby Atmos decoder is not detected.

  1. Ordered and (cliché) I can’t wait for this… A timely #13 for Halloween. These Blu-rays are amazing and I hope that we can get interest from Duranduran in doing Blu-rays of other key titles from their back catalogue. My vote would be for All You Need Is Now, an Atmos mix of that would be amazing. Fact: my favourite song by them is The Man Who Stole a Leopard.

    1. That is easily a career highpoint, it’s weird how that track doesn’t get more praise. There was a pretty decent deluxe HMV version of that album too, 3 CDs I think.

      1. Nice, I couldn’t find that but I saw on Discogs there was an exclusive for HMV in the UK CD + CD Single and Best buy in the US CD + DVD with a making of. There may have been a deluxe CD + CD Single + DVD bundle for HMV, too. I’m sure all this would make for an amazing Blu-ray with an Atmos Mix. We can dream while we’re waiting for Danse Macabre.

And going off-topic, I also adored The Devils CD… Everyone should get this.

  2. After ruminating about it over the last week, I think I am going to pass. It’s going to be a busy autumn/fall/holiday season for releases, so I have a lot of future demands on my wallet. I have not collected all of the SDE Surround Series and think that this would be one I don’t listen to after a first audition. I find the Atmos or 5.1 mixes I most enjoy are albums I already know with a few exceptions (Tipping Point and Optical Delusion being two). I’d be all over a disc of any of DD’s first 6 albums. I hope those who get it enjoy it.

Long live the SDE Surround Series and I look forward to when #14 is released.
