  1. Not a deal as such but Townsend Records are selling a limited to 500 copies reissue of all 4 Blue Nile albums on vinyl at £30.
A Walk across the Rooftops may already have gone but the other three are still available. Not aware of these being available elsewhere

  2. Pretty good 3rd party seller offering the Neil Young Official Release Series Discs 22, 23+, 24 & 25 CD set for £19.99 on Amazon UK. Not too many copies left at that price though.

    1. Cheers for heads up. Purchased! Also it’s reduced even further now, down to £15.94. Plus the Discs 13, 14, 20 & 21 CD box set reduced to £16.99.

    1. Yes and no I haven’t got my stuff as of yet but due to the overwhelming demand that they and all the other websites get after RSD it takes them a while to get them all together and posted out to folk unless you live nearby which as don’t as I live in Northern Ireland. Bottom line is whilst there’s nowt to stop you emailing them and email is best as the internet orders only reply via email rather than phone, your order will be with you but it might be a week or 2 before they’re with you. Usually the apres RSD online websites get a hammering and usually take ages to respond although ironically one of the records that I wasn’t able to get at my local record shop on the day despite camping out overnight I got through Reflex CDs and Records arrived in a couple of days via Reflex’s website and from doing my research it was a quite in demand title in the form of Tinman’s 18 Strings as I literally was struggling to get it anywhere else. Bottom line is sit tight and they’ll be there.

    2. I am waiting for my order still from banquet records but there was a message on their site that as far as I remember stated they received something like the equivalent of a month’s orders on that day and it would take a while to get them all out.
I suppose patience is the thing here but many of us don’t do patience well eh ;-)

    3. My order is showing as “in the queue to be dispatched”. In previous years they have been a bit slow, probably because of the sheer amount of orders compared to the rest of the year, but the order has always turned up eventually.

    4. Yes. Worryingly, one item on my order is showing as picked and in the queue to be despatched but the others are just showing as received. Hopefully, they’re organised enough to not have more orders than stock.

To be fair, on the order comfirmation they do say that when the RSD stuff goes online they receive a month’s worth of orders in one night.

      1. Ha yeah that’s the situation I’m in. I did email and got the automated response telling me that if I got a confirmation email then my order is reserved. But now all I can see is one item waiting to be dispatched and the other just sat at received.
At least I know it’s not just me and that it will probably be ok, but eesh! I’ve not been let down by them in the past, but I’m sure it’s been quicker in previous years?

      2. I should add that I’ve used Banquet several times before so I’ve no doubts about them. I’ve found them to be reasonably priced and I like the way they tell you the actual number they have in stock.

    5. I’ve purchased a couple of albums. I contacted them yesterday. The reply i got was an automated one, saying that they were inundated with orders and hopefully get them all out by 3rd May. I have bought from them before and while they are slow the items always arrive. Got a feeling they are just a small company with limited amount of staff.

      1. They are a regular record shop – that punches far above its weight. always been very civilised and very flexible. Buy in there live and on order and always come through. they invest a lot in record day stock, but then it takes a long time to get out. Regularly see many cages of parcels going out all with the best packaging.
On Packaging massive plug for the SDE Shop, whose packaging of the Wham set was fantastic with additional waterproof outer!!

    6. Banquet are always slow, even for standard releases. I waited two weeks for the latest Idles album. Clearly a very busy shop.

    7. They are my local record shop. They put on loads of fantastic gigs in Kingston. All the staff are great. They have been posting on social media about RSD orders. I’m sure that you’ll all get your records shortly.

    8. I put in orders for RSD items with Davids Music, Banquet and Rough Trade on that Monday 22nd evening. The items were despatched from them on 23rd, 24th and 25th respectively – with all arriving by the Saturday (27th). I’d call that great service from all of them, particularly the first two which are basically just independent record stores rather than big mail-order companies!

    9. I ordered RSD stuff from iMusic and am still waiting on one item but it always had a dispatch date of 30 April – 2nd May. So a delay on some stuff is not exclusive to Banquet records; but it helps if you can check order status on their site.

  3. Prince – Diamonds & Pearls 7CD/BR is £99 on Amazon.co.uk. I’ve had a copy in my basket for ages, and that’s still showing as £159.99, but just by doing a Google search I was able to bring this up instead. Not quite sure how that works…
    https://amzn.to/3y7UlBz

    1. The £159.99 one in your basket is sold by Amazon (inc. next day Prime delivery) whereas the £99.99 one is sold by a third party seller (Techrina).

    1. Thanks so much for this, ordered two copies yesterday (one for me, one for my dad for his birthday) and they arrived today. Incredible deal, now sadly over – well spotted!

      1. Seems a lot of Neil Young albums (and some other Warner titles) have been discounted at the supplier, a few indies have them marked down too.

  4. Not especially cheap but an opportunity to get hold of The Beatles – Sgt Peppers Super Deluxe for an “ok” price if you didn’t bag it back in the day. Down to £86 on Amazon DE.

  5. The Band: Stage Fright (1970) 2021 Super Deluxe Edition (Blu-ray Audio / Blu-ray + CD + LP + 7″ vinyl) $59 on AMZ US (61% off $150 list price)
The Beatles 1+ Deluxe Edition DigiBook + 2-Blu-ray + CD $37 on AMZ US (38% off $60 list price)

    1. Nice one, thanks for the heads-up. Bagged at just shy of £39, half the price of most other places. As well as possessing a unique voice, Blossom was a seriously good pianist much admired by, amongst others, Miles Davis apparently. Get it while you can at this price!

  6. Does anyone know if the SDE edition of Teaser & The Firecat with just CDs (no vinyl) has the same size box as the other two SDEs (Mona and Tillerman)? TIA

    1. It’s absolutely insane, you’d be lucky to pay that price for a standard double album these days.

And Teaser is showing £82 for me but with a voucher taking it down to around £50.

  7. Recently bought the two heavily reduced Cat Stevens box sets. They are superb all round. As a result, I also bought the more expensive Teaser deluxe box set with the vinyl. I contacted the record company on the day the box set arrived to say it was incorrect and 48 hours later the replacement record arrived with me. Just thought I would mention this in case anyone else had the concerns that I did.

  8. There are some nice deals on Amazon ES:

    The Beatles – Blue album (1967 – 1970) – 2 CD is 13,50 EUR
    Joni Mitchell – The Asylum Albums (1972 – 1975) – 5 LP is 80,00 EUR
David Bowie – Divine Symmetry: The Journey to Hunky Dory – 4 CD + blu-ray is 80,00 EUR

  9. as at 17.00 Sunday Amazon UK have the Mona Bone Jakon Box at £41.12 and the Teaser & The Firecat Box at £45.05.

Very tempting as I got Tea for the Tillerman on a deal.

  10. Ian Hunter’s ‘Defiance Part 1’ vinyl is already reduced to £17.99 on Amazon UK, but they are currently offering a £9 off voucher, making it just £8.99. Or, if you prefer the CD, it’s £7.99, but with the £4 off voucher, it’s just £3.99.

  11. Think Amazon UK are still price matching on a few of the HMV deals (even with the slight price drop over the last few days) –

Thin Lizzy – Vagabonds CD box is £42
    REM’s Up 2CD/BR is £19
    Costello / Bacharach 2CD is £6.50
    Tricky – Maxinquaye Reincarnated 2CD is £6.50

    1. Vinyl lovers might be interested in the LP versions of a couple of these titles – Costello and Bacharach (2LP for £22) and REM – Up (2LP for £27) being handsomely discounted with 50% off offers on HMV online.

    1. Just bought a couple of bargains off hmv 50% off deal, the stones “steel wheels live” 2cd + blue ray for £10 along with Van der graaf generators “pawn hearts” 2cd + 5.1 dvd for £10.50. postage free over £20.

    2. James’ Orchestrated is also available at HMV on double vinyl in either white or black for a very reasonable £11.50 each. Rolling Stones Hackney Diamonds on fuchsia vinyl is around £17.50.

  12. Brand new copies of Blur’s 2023 studio Album – The ballad of Darren, Dolby Atmos Blu-ray audio discs are being sold on ebay (uk) for the ridiculously low price of £7.79p with free postage (seller – WilbyMedia)

    1. I am not an authority on Atmos, but I think this one is not highly rated by Atmos fans if you check customer reviews. This maybe why it has been around £10 everywhere for ages and is now falling further. Maybe a bargain, maybe “buyer beware”.

    2. I have it on CD and cassette having got them very cheaply via ebay and though it’s not my favourite album of theirs I snagged one of these myself thanks to your tip though it was different seller, World Books, could well be the same person under a different name and at that price it was a no brainer! Thank you!

  13. Clicking on Paul’s link above for Duran DuranFuture Past (Complete Edition) 2LP coloured vinyl
shows this on Amazon.uk for £14.50 at the moment.

    1. Cheers Matt, on the ball as usual, alas when I first tried the voucher it wasn’t playing ball but I waited until later and lo and behold! Result! I’ve been collecting some of Paul’s albums on the cheap, a bit like some of the Neil Young albums I wait till the CD comes down a bit and then pounce as that is how I got some of his official live bootleg albums so thank you for that one.

  14. That fancy Suede self-titled 30th Anniversary Edition 2CD in the 7″ gatefold case is down to £13 on Amazon UK.

By coincidence the signed version of the Bernard Butler – People Move On 4CD set is back down to £23

And the Sound Of Philadelphia Vol 3: Love Is The Message 8CD box is back down to £59.99 (plus vols 1 and 2 are £39.99 again)

    1. Was hoping that the similarly packaged Bloodsports would fall to that sort of price, but it’s still about £20. Too much to pay for the additional eight tracks.

      1. Fairly sure Bloodsports will be down to about £10 before long. Nice packaging but the opening price was way too high for the extras and I bet there’s a fair bit of unsold stock lying around.

    1. I can not find this on the udiscover.com website. The half speed double vinyl with holograph etching is 13.95 though. At least it was around 630am EST.

  15. Amazon.com has some deals that may be worth checking out. Rush Signals SDE 99.00, Muse AbsolutionXX 98.00. New Order True Faith 12″ 7.00 and lots more, however I have to admit that I do not recognize approx. 80% of the items being reduced in price.
    Good luck in scrolling.
Look for deals and the filter by category: CD and Vinyl.

    1. Considering that I ordered the Amazon exclusive purple edition of this in October and they still haven’t shipped it, and this is cheaper anyway, this is a great find, thanks

    1. Took a bit to track this down as it’s actually the To Our Children’s Children’s Children 50th Anniversary SDE which includes the Royal Albert Hall concert (it’s been mis-named on the Amazon Spain site).
Using the widget on the TOCCC SDE webpage here, I see it’s also down to €60 on Amazon France. I’ve been waiting for a price drop on this for ages, so many thanks!

        1. It’s sobering to think they dedicated this to their children’s children’s children, and they can now probably give them a signed copy!

  16. Bootleg sound quality I know, but Neil young’s “somewhere under the rainbow 1973” 2LP vinyl set is £12 on Amazon uk. Also over on rarewaves uk, Bob Dylan bootleg series “springtime in New York” 5cd box set is £39.74.

  17. Hmv stores are selling the 4CD Life Thru A Lens – Robbie Williams for 34.99 GBP. There is stock in Hmv Oxford Street , Westfield and in Fopp.

  18. Prices on eBay are slowly dropping for Neil young’s “official release series vol 5” box set (freedom, weld, arc + ragged glory) to around the £22-23 mark. A seller was asking £22.48 or best offer for a new sealed copy, I’ve offered £20 and he’s accepted it.

  19. Just FYI – all 6 of the Sade vinyl reissue are cheap on Amazon UK right now, particularly Lovers Rock which is £16! Get those preorders locked in whilst they’re still cheap!

  20. Signed editions of John Foxx LPs The Golden Section and Annexe available from the John Foxx store/Townsend here in the UK. Prices are £30 each or just £42.99 for both. That’s the same price as the previous unsigned bundle. Great value.

  21. Ebay has an app-only discount code (APP20) to give 20% off selected suppliers. This includes ‘Dig In Records Shop’ which is the Ebay version of Dig Store (Warner Music).

So a very long-winded way to say you can get 20% off new releases like the Orbital Green 4CD for £59.

  22. My rolling stones “a bigger bang” box set arrived today from Amazon uk and I thought it I was getting 2cd + 1dvd + Blu-ray. When I opened it, it is 2cd + 2 Blu-ray. nice surprise. Excellent picture and dtshd sound. A bargain for £16.90.

  23. Not exactly the deals of the century but the 50th anniversary vinyl of Frank Zappa’s The Grand Wazoo is £22.79 on Amazon and The Damned’s last album Darkadelic is £14.99, if you use the vouchers for both.

  24. I don’t know if anyone’s interested in this, the police “around the world” Blu-ray+ cd £10 through rarewaves uk on eBay. With a 10% discount up till 23.59pm tonight (which is when it ends) it’s £9 p+p free.

  25. There’s a 3rd party seller offering the Beatles 62-66 CD for £9.99 on Amazon UK (which means that right now you can get the new versions of the Red and Blue albums for a total of £21, as the blue one is £11.44)

  26. Eric Clapton’s 2021 Lady In The Balcony: Lockdown Sessions set is currently only about £10 on Amazon UK for the 2-disc Dolby Atmos Blu-Ray & CD combo (or just over £13 for the 3 disc box set which adds a DVD version).

  27. Rolling Stones Hackney Diamonds CD/BD box and Cat Stevens Mona Bone Jakon 4CD/2LP/BD box are now even cheaper – down to under £22 and about £44 respectively at Amazon.

  28. Ringo’s Change The World CD only £2.15 currently on Amazon UK right now. Surely tempting for all Beatle people who collect CDs. It’s worth it at that price!

        1. Apologies it is still there. I live in Ireland so it shows at £96!!! If I change to a UK address it is £47 so ordered for delivery there. Thank you for the comments otherwise I would not have realised. Lesson learned!!

          1. No problem man, I’m glad you worked it out. This is a terrific price for this set. It was the sale price a couple days ago, but I hesitated, and when I went back it was up to £111.00!! Glad to see it cut back to this again.

    1. Yes, but as good as it is I can’t quite believe Young Americans is marked *down* to £37!

On a more positive note, I do like the Abel Selaocoe album that shows up at the start of the alphabet, albeit possibly not typical SDE fare.

  29. Van Der Graaf Generator – ‘The Least We Can Do Is Wave To Each Other’ on vinyl – classic prog – £14.99 with £10 check out voucher on Amazon uk. Brilliant record.

  30. From the US, on Amazon UK Mona shows up at £39. On Amazon USA it is $49. Both crazy good prices!! I’m not into folk otherwise I would get this asap.

  31. Dexy’s Too Rye Ay 3CD set is £23.99 on Amazon UK (shows as £31 with a voucher available)

In fact there seem to be a few of these voucher discounts floating around

    The Cure – Wish 3CD is £13 (£21 with an £8 voucher)

    The REM – Up 2CD/BR is £26 (£41 with a £16 voucher)

  32. Would someone be kind enough to let me know if the incorrect record in the Tea For The Tillerman super deluxe edition box set has now been corrected in any of those currently available as I’ve just bought the other two heavily reduced and looking to buy TFTTM but don’t want to have problems sourcing the correct record.

      1. Apologies. You are all absolutely right. Got my Teasers and my Tillermans muddled up ! So basically, you buy the big box set but with an incorrect record you can’t replace. What a shame.

        1. Mick, as per my reply to Phil Tate, I had a replacement copy sent only last December by contacting the different email address, so it’s still well worth a try.
Worth pointing out that if it works, you would then have the big Super Deluxe Edition Teaser box set with the intended two vinyl LPs (being the alternative Teaser and Live LP) PLUS the remastered original album on vinyl which was the incorrect pressing and is selling separately for £30 on Amazon!

    1. I’m sure I won’t be the only person to reply that Teaser had the wrong record, not Tillerman. Nothing wrong with the vinyl in the Tillerman set.

And the last I heard was that they aren’t sending the replacement records out any more, so if you buy it and it has the wrong record you’re stuck with it.

      1. I dont think the original address to get a replacement disc for Teaser is working, but as recently as last December I contacted [email protected] and they arranged a replacement to be sent to me which arrived within a few days. Excellent customer service.

    2. Hi Mick. As far as I know it is the big vinyl and CD box of Teaser and the Firecat that is supposed to have an alternate versions vinyl album in it, but actually just had a bog standard remaster. This was what was being replaced for free a while ago. There is a CD BluRay version that is being discounted of that. The vinyl/CD big boxes of Tillerman and Mona don’t have issues as far as I’m aware.

  33. Cat Stevens Teaser and the Fire Cat CD / Blue Ray only SDL now £48 on Amazon UK. I bagged it because that’s what it went down to the last time I was (recently) following it before it shot back up to £90. Now it’s come down again. It may go lower but I’m happy enough with it at this price especially as the bigger edition is still £140 on Amazon with no doubt the mis-pressed LP in it and no way of knowing if it could still be replaced.

    1. I bought this on rarewaves uk about 10 days ago for £26 (I posted this on here at that time) it is now up to £36 postage free. Really nice set.

  34. Couple of other bits – the Brian May Back To The Light box is £17.90

Eric Clapton self titled 50th Anniversary 4CD is £15.50

And the Jesus Jones CD box is an outrageously good £62

  35. The Prince “Diamond And Pearls” super deluxe vinyl-boxset is 227 EUR on Amazon.de,
    and the Black Sabbath “Hand In Doom 1970 – 1978” vinyl-picture disc-set is 199 on Amazon.fr!

  36. Level 42 – Later Years 1991-1998 7CD: € 20,76 @ Amazon.nl and Bol.com (last week already € 23,07, now even cheaper) (incl free shipping within The Netherlands)

    1. Thanks for the tip, I ordered the Level 42 – Later Year Box immediately at Bol.com together with the Steve Wilson – Harmony Codex for € 10,- the Prince – Diamonds and Pearls Blu-ray for € 11,-

      1. Same here, and to lost out by £10. One of these days Amazon will be giving stuff away and charging postage only at this rate of price lowering!!. I was happy to pay £56 for mine, surely they are losing out a significant amount by selling for even that price. I don’t know anything about the wholesale prices of these things but I’m presuming it will be more than £56!.
        £45 is amazingly low.

    1. Yeah I do feel like it could drop another £5 or £10 but my nerves have given out and I’ve ordered it. It’s an astonishing price and if Tillerman hadn’t got as low as £36 I’d have happily paid the same £55 as you last week!

        1. Quite a bounce, up £115! I guess that’s why they do it. I too payed the £55 price and was a bit miffed at the £45 a week later (I also “overpaid” about £6 on Teaser also versus the bottom price). But as I’ve argued before, playing “chicken” with Amazon either leads you to lose out on occasion or slightly overpay when it’s still decreasing. The only other tactic is to order and monitor the price, and cancel and re-order if it’s not been despatched. However if you have Prime, or even if not, Amazon tend to quickly put in the despatch process items that are being discounted heavily in my experience. Also what is the value of an individual’s time spent monitoring such increments? It’s just a bit in your face on SDE as you see the price drops deals alerts after purchase! It’s all fun and we all win some and lose some, but the “loss” tends to be just not the biggest possible saving. Love SDE!
