  1. This Friday (16th) sees the release date, and Amazon’s original delivery date, for the police’s synchronicity SHM- CD super deluxe box. I wonder if we’ll receive cancellation notices soon or whether they’ll honour the mountain of orders. Can’t wait, but I think I know the answer already.

  2. 3 Vinyl bargains on Amazon UK:
    Eddie Vedder – Earthling – Blue/black vinyl: £8.82

    Allman Brothers 1st LP : £8.75

John Mayall – A Hard Road (features Peter Green & Fleetwood Mac): £6.97

As these are via Speedyhen they have Free Delivery (not subject to £35 minimum).

  3. Anyone still looking for Joni Mitchell’s the asylum albums 1972-75 4cd box set, a seller on eBay (marchad2406) has it new & sealed for £21.99 with free p&p.

    1. Note that All your Music on eBay has 25% off its already discounted prices, and free postage if you buy two items. So if you want the other two Joni remastered box sets (Reprise and the later Asylum years) to supplement this amazing bargain you can get the pair for £55.

  4. Michael Jackson Off The Wall CD + MJ’s Journey from Motown to Off the Wall Blu-ray $12 on AMZ US (46% off $21 list price).

This is the release with a piece of chalk in it…

  5. On EBay right now, there’s a seller selling Black Crowes Southern Musical Companion super deluxe CD version for $49.05 with free shipping, brand new. It says he has eight left at that price. Don’t know for how long. Just ordered one.

  6. The official Prince store in the US has some great sale items. Sign O The Times box for $85, Welcome 2 America $60, Diamonds & Pearls 2 x clear vinyl $35, and many more!

    1. Great deal. I’d like it to drop to a similar price in UK (nl won’t ship this to me in the UK). It’s crazy how low the D&P sets are at amazon.ca too.

        1. Perfect. That’s a great price – I got one of the last 2 from the seller.
I didn’t think this era would merit such an expansive release, but I was surprised by a lot of the material when I heard it in good quality vs bootlegs I’d heard.

  7. The Band: Cahoots (1971) 2021 50th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition (LP + CD + Blu-Ray + 7″) $52 on AMZ US (65% off $150 list price)
Billy Idol: State Line – Live at the Hoover Dam Blu-ray $16 on AMZ US (35% off $25 list price)

    1. Cheers man for that one I bought that and their previous album in the same swoop as it’s very cheap at below a £5er, quite partial to them. The bass player is a teacher in a school in Northern Ireland not far from me. My best bargain buy of theirs was the white label 12″ of the St Etienne mix of their classic adventure in dub known as Lazarus which I got on a local Barnardo’s for the princely sum of 50p.

      1. I think these two newer albums are really solid considering they no longer have their principle songwriter. And less than £10 is a bargain for both albums.

Hugely underrated band back in the day. All their records were good to great before they split originally.

    1. Thanks for the alert, Matt! Just waiting for Rock and Roll Star CD/BR to drop below £90…
I recently reviewed my Amazon orders for 2016, when I’d bought several Bowie vinyl remasters: SO £9.14; TMWSTW £9.51; AS £9.54; PU £9.09! Those were the days…

    1. Can anyone confirm if the issue with the discs in the 1972 box was ever resolved? Loads of comments on SDE and Amazon back then about unplayable discs and even people’s cd players being ruined by the discs! Is it pot luck whether you get the dodgy discs or not, now?

      1. As it is the signed edition, that would suggest it comes from the original production run so may well be the problem discs. Caveat emptor.

      2. I bought this a few weeks ago and had the non playing issue but I emailed my name & address to [email protected] attaching proof of purchase (a screenshot of the Amazon order delivery confirmation) and they quickly sent replacement discs which all work fine.

        1. You’re a braver man than l, Ollie C. My replacement discs went back into the packaging and straight up into the attic, where they will stay.

  8. Jethro Tull broadsword and the beast 40th anniversary monster edition, 5cd, 3dvd & 164 page book, £44.99 on Amazon uk through global deals.

  9. Note to anyone who has bought the Paul Weller 66 Remixes 12″ which I may add is very good that it runs at 45rpm as opposed to the indicated 33/1/3rpm on the label.

  10. Cherry Red have 20% off of Soul and Psych for August. A lot of good Grapefruit compilations etc. but need to compare carefully to other sellers taking into account postage.

    1. Thank you! Even if Importcds.com had it available, this is a better deal because they charge $6 shipping while udiscover has free shipping. Great find and ordered immediately. I still have the SHM version on order from Amazon UK for that crazy low price but that still hasn’t shipped and was surely a mistake. Not counting on ever getting that.

  11. Ultravox Lament 7CD / 1 DVD £54.50 Inc shipping with Rarewaves discount RWJUL10…. My best purchase of 2024, can’t wait for this to arrive; All previous Ultravox deluxe edition box sets have been excellent!

  12. I see Eric Clapton’s Blues 24 nights is back down to £24.99 so I’ve ordered one in the hope I actually get one and not a phone cover like the last time or indeed a New Order 12″ which I already had. Time will tell!

      1. Yep, for it arrived today! Hurrah! My patience paid off as it went back up in price and when it dropped down again I pounced. Just need the Orchestral one to drop in price and I’ll have the complete set.

  13. The recently released Cure Paris 30th Anniversary Edition CD, with extra tracks, is almost half price at £7.99 on Amazon UK today.

  14. The massive 44CD Four Seasons box set is £175 on Amazon UK. This really appeals, but I don’t think I have the time to listen to it .

  15. So I have just bought Joni Mitchell The Asylum Years for £31.50 on Amazon (thank you to the dilagent people on this feed) Amazon show it as previously £44.99 now down 30% (it previously was of course much higher). HMV have it at £89.99.
Paul, with all your knowledge of the trade why are they allowed to do this? When a new novel comes out it has a retail price that booksellers do not go above until it becomes second hand. Amazon and HMV do not with books, so why are music box sets treated differently. Why does it not contravene some trading law?

    1. Book retailers are much worse aren’t they? A hardback book (Jamie Oliver, Harry Potter or whatever) is supposed to be £25.00 but is £12 all over the place initially. At least you have to wait a bit for music box sets to come down…

      1. Thank you for answering Paul. I think I did not make my point well enough.
A new book will have a retail price which the retailers never go above. It is in line with books of the same size, page length etc and importantly is the same price if it is an unknown author or say J.K.Rowling. So a £25 Jamie Oliver book will only go above that price if it becomes a rare second hand book which is virtually never. It often will be half price on release and has a second printing etc if popular.
There is no “normal ” price for a SDE just arbitrary made prices based on what the record co. / artist think they can get away with. This causes fans to have to guess what will happen with the price and often pay hundreds of pounds for their hobby they do not need to.
You have to price your outstanding Blu Ray series and do so reasonably. You don’t just double the price because its say Bob Dylan or when some extra stock is found.

Wouldn’t the music collecting world be a better place if the big retailers sold at half price initially? Why would you not want this?

        1. Are you speaking for the UK? I thought the whole RRP thing got scrapped for books, years ago? Bricks and mortar book sellers have a lot more protection in Germany than they do in the UK, I know that… I still don’t get the problem because as long as there is competition if anyone arbitrarily charges a high price for something someone else is just going to undercut them. But you do need competition.

          1. Yes, it was the Net Book Agreement, which allowed publishers to set a minimum price for their books, so small independent booksellers or big chains were selling at the same price and the former weren’t undercut. Abolished in the 90’s…

          2. I can see it from both sides. Technically it was price-fixing as publishers could force retailers to set a minimum price for their product, though this also protected independent sellers as if you wanted a book you knew it would be more or less the same price wherever you bought it so it helped smaller booksellers as they couldn’t be undercut by bulk-buying giants like Amazon, though as a customer it eliminated price-based competition & meant no deals !

        2. Once you go for SDE editions of books (e.g. Genesis or Folio) you’ll find the prices sky rocket just as much, even for new books. It’s an SDE feature I’m afraid …

        3. There is also no ‘normal’ price for books, and the pricing of books is definitely not based on the size or number of pages – i can buy a small 60 page book of poetry that is exactly the same price as a 600 page novel, in exactly the same way that 2 vinyl albums or SDE’s can vary in price hugely.

Books have a ‘recommended retail price’ – the emphasis being on the ‘recommended’ – publishers can no longer force retailers to sell at a minimum price as they could under the old NET book agreement. Retailers can choose to sell a book at a discount (sometimes funded by the publisher or incorporating a discount based on the volume they buy (& with sale-or-return deals etc) which is why Amazon can sell at 60% off which a local independent bookshop couldn’t afford to do). Re the – wouldn’t it be great if the ‘big retailers sold at half price initially’ – it wouldn’t do much for the business of smaller independent retailers – would you buy an SDE for £60 from Amazon, or for £120 from the SDE shop etc ?

95% of books aren’t half price on release, publishers only usually do this on books they know will be popular and/or they want to hype up to get into the bestsellers list so they can sell it as a ‘number one bestseller’ etc. You say books are the same price whether an unknown author or a famous author, then say that popular authors like Jamie Oliver are often half price – so, not the same price then – you’ll rarely see an unknown author at half-price unless the publishers have spent a fortune on their book & want to hype them as ‘the next big thing’.

With books you also have the knowledge that if you don’t want to buy a £25 hardback you can wait 6-12 months & buy exactly the same content in a paperback for £9.99 (or the ebook often for 99p).

          1. If you buy a new content poetry book by a current popular author for example Hannah Sullivan it will be £12.99 (as you will know poetry is very dense to create and will be 60 – 80 pages and often take longer to produce than a novel) a 400+ novel now retails at about £22 so your comparison does not hold up. My opinion is the Net Book Agreement was a good thing because I feel it correctly paid the author for an enormous amount of work and supported Independent shops.
If there was a RRP for box sets in increments from say 3CD box sets 4, 5, 6 etc then it would be very hard for Amazon to charge above it. I got the Joni Mitchell box at 30% off of £44.99 (£31.50) but we all know Amazons original price was around £75. They move their own invisible RRP around to suit their own interests.
I absolutely agree with what you said
“wouldn’t it be great if the ‘big retailers sold at half price initially’ – it wouldn’t do much for the business of smaller independent retailers – would you buy an SDE for £60 from Amazon, or for £120 from the SDE shop etc ?”
I expressed my self poorly in an offhand remark. My interest is in the artist being fairly rewarded (a well thought out RRP) independent shops supported and us punters not ripped off which we certainly are.

    2. The Joni Mitchell Asylum Years on Amazon for £31 is sold by a third party seller Global Deals UK. Amazon UK has it under the same listing for £67 or so! As far as I can make out Global Deals is one of several companies currently that buy up excess stock and sells it cheaply through Amazon and ebay. These are the sellers and deals we’re all hunting out and flagging up on SDE for others to benefit. Long may it go on. By the way Rarewaves has got 10% off everything until Thurs with code RWJUL10 – but you do have to prepay.

  16. A decent 3rd party seller has the Suede Autofiction 3CD (the one with the idiotic box) for £11 on Amazon UK. Outstanding content, ludicrous packaging.

      1. I have spoke of this before when it came out. The packaging is akin to the Durutti Column sandpaper album cover which is difficult to store because it scratches the albums next to it. The Suede one destroys itself which is in line with the punk concept Brett Anderson feels the album has and kind of criticises collectors who, like myself, keep everything they can carefully, even down to stickers.
Much like you can store the sandpaper album you can carefully open the Suede album.

    1. This was the night after the infamous Bristol Hippodrome gig – expecting ‘Harvest Neil’ but getting ‘Tonight’s the Night Neil’ – Nil Lofgren doing somersaults on a mini trampoline etc- someone yelled out “Get on with it Neil”, the great man stormed off. He was later coaxed back. I was there – a weird night! The Rainbow gig has the same setlist as Bristol.

      1. We were kinder – still bemused, mind – to him in Manchester of which there was an excellent recording in circulation at one time. I meant to ask Nils about the experience when I saw him at the merch table on his last solo tour of the U.K., but chickened out.

  17. The recently released 50th anniversary 4CD box set of War’s ‘The World Is A Ghetto: The Complete Sessions’ is currently £26.60 on Rarewaves UK, which is less than half the price Amazon UK is selling it for. Currently showing a ‘Low stock’ though.

  18. Neil Young – Harvest Moon Crystal Clear Double vinyl release from 2024 currently £25.01 on Amazon UK. Not exactly a bargain but not a bad price. As some of us are aware the price drop to £17 a few weeks in reality never came to anything as Amazon cancelled the orders. Anyway I can vouch that this version sounds awesome. Lovely thick gatefold sleeve and the records look / sound stunning.
    https://amzn.to/46uZroL

      1. Ahhh yes I stand corrected!! It was the black vinyl that was reduced right down. It was from Amazon but via Speedy Hen. Cheers. But Amazon did cancel my order – swine’s! Glad yours came through though at that price. Excellent deal. I went for the clear vinyl in the end. Not a absolute steal but not a bad price for a double.

  19. If Holidays in Eden wouldn’t be such a letdown from Seasons End…. of which the SDE is a letdown also. I guess the SDE series really peaked with the Fish Era records. The Singles Box Vol.2 is all one really needs from the final EMI releases.

    1. I came to Marillion late, think these box sets are an example to all on how to do a reissue, and much prefer the post-Fish albums.
It would be a dull old world if we all liked the same things!

  20. A couple of things from Amazon uk, pink Floyd dark side of the moon Blu-ray Dolby Atmos disc £12.99 and peter Gabriel I/0 2cd + Blu-ray £16.69.

  21. Neil Young Archives Vol 1 8CD box set finally goes below the £100 mark on Amazon UK. It’s £99.99 to be precise and is now cheaper than Vol 2. Remember this was an outrageous £180 odd when reissued last year. Also the Humble Pie complete 8CD box set is available for just over £38.

  22. Well despite ordering Clapton’s 24 Nights Blues I never got it as I was 1st of all sent New Order’s Murder on 12″ in the box for Clapton which I then sent back and now today I was sent a phone case! How does a phone case look like a vinyl record? Not amused as Clapton’s Blues LP has now gone back up to £42 from £24.99! Will be returning the phone case for a refund and will keep my scanners peeled for a reduction in the Blues LP in future.

    1. When we did a tour of an Amazon fulfilment centre we were surprised to see the final “manual” pick made from a shelf that contains diverse items (e.g. a water bottle, CD, book, bird food).Apparently this is intended to stop incorrect picking of items of the same type (e.g. CD A instead of CD B) and speeds the process. Clearly failed here….

  23. Good price on the new Rory Gallagher forthcoming BBC set – 18 CDs and 2 Blu-Rays – €120 plus postage on Amazon.de this morning.

  24. Discovered when I ordered the Stones GRRR live triple for £25 an offer for which was on then off then on again that the Who live at Wembley with orchestra triple LP is only £15 the only caveat is that it won’t be with you until September but I’ve ordered one anyway because at that price it’s a 3rd of what it was.

  25. After Clapton’s “24 Nights: Rock” LP being down to £25 earlier in the week (thanks, Stevie C!), “24 Nights: Blues” LP is down to the same price this morning. Hopefully, we get Orchestral soon at this price. Blues is a double so less of a bargain but still a good reduction.
EDIT at 10.20 GMT. Orchestral also now down.

    1. Cheers man for the “Blues” tip! No worries on the “Rock” one, I have a rerelease of the original double CD as well. Note that the Rock one isn’t coming until near the end of this month so the Blues one may well be delayed too.

    1. The Frank Sidebottom release today is indeed a monumental release. I pre ordered it and now await it’s arrival today
The trigger has been pulled, the music will now be held in my hands
      Thank You !

      1. Aaargh! I have received a faulty Frank Sidebottom box set too.

I was so looking forward to this release but have ended up holding Sugarcubes music in my hands instead of Frank Sidebottom music.

        Strange Days Indeed.

      2. Apparently they hope to issue correct discs in August. So looking on the bright side we have gained 3 discs of Sugarcubes music!

  26. George Michael’s “Older” box set now €72 plus postage from Amazon.es. Cheapest I have seen it in a while.

    3 LP, 5 CD, 48 page 12″ x 12″ Book plus bits.

  27. Some ok stuff on Amazon DE

GnR – Use Your Illusion 7CD/BR is £98
Lou Reed – RCA & Arista Albums 17CD box is £74
Bob Dylan – Complete Budokan CD box is £98

  28. Supergrass 3CD deluxe re-issues of ‘In It For The Money’ and ‘Life On Other Panets’ are £5.99 and £7.99 respectively – instore/online at HMV. HMV are having a ‘Sale’ but it’s more like a ‘trim’ on many items I have seen.

    1. Ah that’s why it had dropped to £7.99 on amazon UK then. But there is a 3rd party seller (Global Deals) selling it for a smidge less at £7.19. Get em while you can. Save the rest for a packet of crisps!

  29. I noticed that the Guns N Roses Appetite For Destruction cd box + 5.1 mix is sold out on Amazon UK and Amazon UK are selling Amazon US stock for full price as they seem to have a few copies left. The Guns N Roses website still sells this box for $49. Not sure if this box is about to be out of print but it seems that way. Get it for half price at the artist website.

  30. Some limited time deals I got ahead of prime day, Eric Clapton 24 nights (Rock) on 3 LP for £25, Status Quo – Early Years 5 CD, £25, Manic Street Preachers – Lifeblood 3 CD – £26, Garbage – Bleed like me 2 CD £14, The Best Of The Corrs 2CD £8.49

        1. It possibly hasn’t helped that the usually-excellent Vive Le Rock magazine’s sneery 5/10 review claimed the box set “documents the band’s evolution – or lack thereof” with regards to a period of just two or three years where the band progressed from psychedelic pop puppets with orchestral backing courtesy of producer John Schroeder, to hard rock, boogie, and even proto-doom (“Daughter”).
The only way anyone could ludicrously claim a lack of evolution during that era is by not bothering to listen. I thought we’d left reviews like that behind in the 1990s.

      1. Yeah it wasn’t expensive to start off with but a wee bit off always helps. Looking forward to giving it a listen soon. I love their 60s stuff.

    1. I posted this, but it never appeared. Because when I try and buy it, it won’t let me go through checkout. Is this some geo based thing as I’m in the UK? It’s also available from HMV for £75 either from their site or ebay.

    2. It says “item no longer available from the seller you selected”. Some mistake apparently. It’s ok. This box will eventually go down in price and the box will be available for a long time. It won’t sell out quickly.

  31. A few bits from Amazon.com:
-Bob Dylan – The Original Mono Recordings cd box $77
-Go West – Dancing On The Couch 2x clear vinyl 180 gram $26
-Daft Punk – Random Access Memories 10th anniversary 3x vinyl box $34

    1. Thank you for the heads up, I have waited a long time for a decent price. If memory serves me I think this started out at about £160, a disgraceful exploitation especially since it does not have the entire Festival Hall concert that exists. Also with Costellos dismissing of CDs funny how he is happy to tack them on to the vinyl to make more money.
As I said DJB73 thank you, its good to have one of my all time favourite albums finally in a SDE.

      1. It arrived this morning. Really great set for £45 – stupidly overpriced at the beginning. Greed on boxsets is getting out of hand!

        1. Mine arrived this morning. Amazon at its most bizarre, is showing as available for £45 in 3 – 7 months now and for awhile was up to £97 on Saturday.
There seems a game plan to me where “A” list artists have their box sets released at least twice the price of what the record company really think they are worth and if they don’t sell the retailers just keep dropping the price until they do. Who is making the profit? I’m sure its not the record shops.

          1. Mine arrived today, in perfect condition. Lucky didn’t have to wait till January (or even september)!

      1. It seems like there were around 12 copies available in stock. The one I ordered at 5pm yesterday is already dispatched and due today!

    2. Ordered yesterday arrived today, they must have only had a few in stock and are sourcing the other orders from elsewhere, i got lucky for once. Many thanks for the heads up

  32. Not a deal but you might be interested to know that the four hard-to-get Jethro Tull deluxe editions are being reissued in August (or they found some old stock) and are available for pre-order from HMV. One of them (Heavy Horses) is already out of stock.
Can’t see them on Amazon or on the JT website.
Apologies if this is old news, but it made my day at least !

  33. The Beatles – Revolver Super Deluxe LP set is down to approx £80 on Amazon UK at the mo. I think that’s the lowest it’s ever been.

    1. I always said to myself I would jump once it dipped below £30. After waiting 3 years I ain’t gonna quibble over 60p. I’m in. Thanks for posting!!!

  34. Amazon UK – Am I missing something?
Noticed today on my Wishlist several titles have flags with eg. 20% or 25% off.
So went to “Today’s Deals” to see if anything caught my eye and there are thousands with reductions!.
I am a vinyl collector so CD offers are not of any real interest. My experience was that you can only pick
“CD and Vinyl” there is no sub-category to split them up. Even worse – given the huge quantities on offer –
you then do not see the price but only the percentages off”!
I would guess most people are more interested in the price you are going to have to pay
to purchase the item rather than the alleged “discount.” So with thousands of individual items, unless you drill
down on each specific one, you know neither the format nor the price!
Apologies if my browsing is inefficient!
PS, From my Wishlist I know there is a good offer on Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway’s “City of Gold” on vinyl
down to £18 but as an SDE bargain hunter want to take advantage where it exists across the board!

  35. The seal 2cd/blu ray with Atmos mix is down to £28.49 on Amazon UK. This was enough of a discount for me to bite as it’s a fairly new title.

  36. If you want to hold the music in your hands NOW then £112 for Bowie box set is fantastic value!
The time to hold this fine music in ones hands is NOW I say, NOW !
    Jolly good!

  37. Always worth checking out Import CDs, I got this from them as pre order for £88, so worth a punt on first releases….still over priced at £112, sub £100 would be a start…

  38. I have pulled the trigger, pounced, bagged, sealed bought, purchased, ordered the Bowie box set, and there was no shipping weight issue.
    Fantastic!

    1. Cheers man, like the Prince one I got about a week ago my patience has yet again paid off as I pulled the trigger on the Nirvana one having wanted it since it as released but wasn’t prepared to pay 3 figures for. Admittedly that’s nearly a year later from when it was released but nonetheless my patience paid dividends.

  39. David Bowie’s Rock n Roll Star 5CD/Blu Box down to £112 I’ve just seen on Amazon UK.
Best price I’ve seen and I’m now tempted

  40. 3rd party seller on Amazon UK has Bob Dylan’s Fragments 5 CD Bootleg Series for £27.99 delivered. Listed as used, but described as “Brand new and sealed but no hype sticker”. 6 left in stock.

    1. Wish Criterion would do a region free version of Blow Up. Waited forever for a decent print and this very cult British film only gets a North America version. Sucks

  41. Aye my Amazon says Delivery Date pending for The Police but we’ll see, if it get cancelled I don’t mind, I was really only ordering it because it was allegedly cheaper than the UK one though I did sense that it was potentially too good to be true when I first heard about it though it’s costing me nothing to keep my order in, if I get it I get it, if not I’ll wait until the UK one comes down significantly in price.

  42. Just got an email from Amazon stating re The Police’s Synchronicity box set that the delivery date has been changed and “We will email you as soon as we have a delivery date”.
At least they haven’t cancelled and are apparently still honouring it!

    1. My experience on Amazon pre-orders is instead of straightforwrdly cancelling when something has gone wrong, there have been repeated messages about changed/unknown delivery dates – then it gets cancelled and usuallly followed by it being imemdiately avaiable at a higher price!

So not holding out too much hope – but you never know!

    2. They haven’t cancelled because they will keep our money in their accounts for as long as possible. I’d say there is zero chance it’s going to be honoured now, but it was a worthwhile long shot anyway.

      1. Agreed. Zero chance this gets honored especially since there were a ton of orders. The sales made it to the top 10 on Amazon UK. They are definitely not eating that.

  43. Just got a delivery update from Amazon regarding:

Synchronicity [40th Anniversary Edition / Super Deluxe Edition] [SHM-CD]
        Sold by Amazon EU S.a.r.L.

    Basically, delivery date not known.

Assume this is first phase in cancelling order.

    1. That was my assumption too, unfortunately … however, I remain hopeful until I get a cancellation e-mail! I certainly won’t be buying the UK version at (anywhere near) full price … fingers crossed …

  44. I think Amazon may have blinked in relation to the Police 6 disc SACD Synchronicity from Japan. Got an email saying that the release date has changed and they will advise once they have an update. Still selling at a little over £30 but the webpage is saying that it has not been released but “you may pre-order and we will deliver it to you when it arrives”.

There is still hope … even if it is looking a little bit more uncertain. Still at 700+ orders in the last month.

  45. Atom Heart Mother Japanese CD/blu ray now down to £16.19 on amazon and ebay from same seller. Only a few copies left though.

  46. Bob Dylan’s complete budokan 1978 is £100 on Amazon uk (through global deals). It states it is a cd sized box set, I always thought it was a 12 x 12 box, but I haven’t got it so I don’t know.

  47. Bob Dylan Fragments – Time Out Of Mind Sessions 5 disc box now on sale for $66 on Amazon.com
Prince Rave Un2 Joy Fantastic 150 gram limited edition 2x purple vinyl now only $25 on Amazon.com
Bob Marley Catch A Fire 50th anniversary 4 vinyl discs box $58 also on Amazon.com

    1. Hate to be pedantic but it was Bob Marley who did catch a fire. Some great offers there though unfortunately I can’t avail as I live in Northern Ireland.

  48. Rarewaves has the Joni Mitchell The Asylum Albums (1976-1980) CD set at £39.56 which is about the cheapest I have seen it so far. They also have the Weather Report box at £28.34.

  49. Collector’s choice, which used to be pop market and is owned by same company as deep discount and import CDs has a 15% coupon, and free shipping including box sets. Deep Discount does charge for shipping for heavier weight box sets.
Use code CCMJUL24 to take 15% OFF orders of two+ in-stock items.
    https://collectorschoice.attn.tv/auQMasIqcQka
I just bought new Bowie and Yes Fragile box sets for a total of $167 usd including sales tax!

    1. Tried to buy the Bowie set on Deep Discount but couldn’t as they removed it from my basket stating that it was too heavy!
I then tried Collectors Choice and they done exact same.
I’ve never encountered this before when getting items shipped to the UK
Seems that anything heavier than a Twinky bar is too heavy to load with this Company.

  50. I stand corrected, I thought it was only the Arthur Baker Dance Masters 6 LP that was reduced when I discovered that the the John Luongo one I indeed reduced too. The Arthur Baker one is £45 and the John Luongo one is £41. I now have ordered the John Luongo one as well even though I have the cd versions of both.

  51. Rarewaves have another weekend code and this weekend its for 12% off vinyl. Code is RWVINYL12 (all caps no spaces).

I had a hunt around and found a few things including the Paul Weller Orchestrated Songbook reduced from £47.49 down to £17.89, with the code it was finally £15.75. Hope you find something good :)

  52. About 20% of what I post here is not getting published. It’s a shame. Deepdiscount.com in the US has a summer sale. Many of their already rock bottom prices are lowered AND you get an additional 10% off with the code RINGO. David Bowie’s Rock N Roll Star would be $87, Divine Symmetry $78, Aretha Franklin Portrait of a Queen $44, Seal II Deluxe $26, etc. Great opportunity.

    1. Happens to me too dude in terms of some of my posts disappearing. Looks like some great offers though alas as I live in Northern Ireland I can’t get things posted directly to me from America.

  53. I see D2C Sound Of Vinyl etc. have a new Van Morrison album coming out, the again very literally titled “New Arrangements And Duets”, to file next to “Reworking The Catalogue” and “Latest Record Project, Vol 1.” This one comes with a “Signed Print” ;-) https://thesoundofvinyl.com/products/new-arrangements-and-duets-limited-orange-vinyl-lp-signed-print?utm_source=Email&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=TheSoundofVinylWeek26Vanmorrison260624&utm_content=UMGUK44633-1122934&utm_referrer=direct&utm_board=vv-prod-api&utm_country=GB&utm_linkurl=vv.lnk.to%2F1a5e5f&lf=c5d873d29f8fd8268d87ac0023f962b5&vvsa_consumer_id=32768277&vvsa_tracking=_vvsa_USyr9ivd603877

    1. Ha! Fool me once, Van. If he couldn’t even be bothered to sign the 50 “test pressings” of LRP he was selling for £150, there is no way under the sun he’s signed 300 prints with LPs costing £30.

  54. Finally plumbed nearly a year later for Prince’s Diamonds and Pearls Super Deluxe. Though it wasn’t as cheap as the previous offer of £68, £75.99 was good enough for me to pull the trigger. I had the fullest of hopes when it was first released that it would eventually drop in price to a figure I was happy with as I had to the same with the Sign Of The Times box set which I think I got for £68 at the time for the 9 CD/1 DVD version. I also went for the Arthur Baker Dance Masters 6 LP which someone had mentioned on was the John Luongo one but was actually Arthur Baker as it’s £45.33 for it and even though I had the CD version I had to plumb for the vinyl version at that price as it’s over £100 elsewhere. Though they’re not on offer I also plumbed for the new John Cale album and Moby album on CD.

  55. For those in Australia, Bowie’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Star SDE has come down to AUD $211 (about GPB 110) on Amazon AU (was originally listed at about $320)

  56. I don’t know if anyone else is interested in these, but I’ve bought them and I think they’re a steal for a Michael nesmith fan (ie me). A seller on eBay, sampsonlowbooks, is offering a bundle of 4 new and sealed coloured vinyl albums. They are: and the hits keep on comin’, pretty much your standard ranch stuff, tantamount to treason (these are the 50th anniversary issues) and cosmic partners – the mcCabe tapes. These are on the 7A label and as stated are all coloured vinyl in gatefold sleeves. The seller was asking £50 or best offer, I ended up paying £40 + £4.50 postage. They are still on offer.

    1. This is an awesome post. I ended up paying less than $200 for the vinyl box set with a 15% off first order coupon incl 9.90 shipping in the US. Thats a whopping 189.00 less than on amazon.com currently. Nice one. Thank you Andy!

  57. The Darkness – Permission to Land 20th Anniversary 5 disc set is available for just over £20 from a 3rd party seller on Amazon uk at the moment.

  58. …. and also the Arthur Baker Presents Dance Masters – John Luongo (6LP Signed Edition) for £42.00 on Amazon UK. The sixth disc is pure gold.

  59. If you enter Police Synchronicity Prime into Amazon UK, a listing comes up for the CD box set for £29.36. The £99 version is also still there so not sure what it’s all about but might be worth a punt for Police fans.

    1. Several have already ‘punted’ Stan including myself. It’s the Japanese SHM-CD Edition and the price is obviously a mistake.

Whether Amazon will honour the orders is doubtful. If they do I will never refer to them as the Dodgers again. Honest.

      1. I think you mean ‘several hundred’ as while it was available they shifted well over 900. Will they fulfil 900 orders at that price or cancel 900 orders – that is the question !

        1. I guess it will be down to margins. If there is some profit at all in the £29.36 price, it’d be worth honouring them for the positive PR. 900 is a lot of sales and a lot of customers to disappoint. Most of these 900 won’t be rebuying at the £99 price in any event, so it’s not like they are losing £70+ per order, in reality. Most will be SDE bargain hunters like us. If they are going to cancel, there would be less disappointment if they did it as soon as they realise the error and take it off sale, rather than waiting weeks and then doing it, unless the delay is while discussions are ongoing about what to do.

          1. I think we all know there is no profit whatsoever – in fact a loss per unit – at that price for the Japanese version. It’s just not going to happen, imo.

    1. Thank you Stevie B – ordered also with Arthur Baker Presents Dance Masters – John Luongo (6LP Signed Edition) for 42,99

  60. “Muswell Hillbillies/Everybody’s in Show-Biz (Box with 6 LPs, 4 CDs and Blu-Ray)” by The Kinks is available on both amazon & jpc for 69,99 EUR. If you’re in Germany you can get it without extra shipping charges which makes this the best offer I’ve seen so far.

    1. I nearly went for this but according the link it must be through a secondary seller as they’re charging £9.99 postage which is mental.

      1. Not sure if that was to ship abroad? I live in the UK and it was free delivery. States 2-4 days for delivery. You could pay £2.99 for next day delivery if you wished to.

    2. It’s only £15.87 on Speedyhen’s own website (they’re the 3rd party seller offering the deal on Amazon UK) with free postage in the UK.

    3. Unfortunately no longer available. I ordered at discount price on Amazon but have just had ‘ order cancelled by merchant ‘. Win some you lose some ‍♂️

  61. Warp Records are reissuing Aphex Twin’ s Selected Ambient Works II on Ltd. Ed. Boxset, 4x LP & 3x CD.

The box set edition includes a fold-out poster, sticker sheet, and booklet containing sketches for the original artwork by designer Paul Nicholson.

The release also features the previously vinyl-only track “#19,” alongside two additional tracks, “th1 [evnslower]” and “Rhubarb Orc. 19.53 Rev.”

Pre-order open now for October release. Box set pre-order window open until 24th June, 10am BST.
    https://aphextwin.warp.net/

    1. The wooden box is a bit pricey for me. But as everything is now collected together in one place I’ve pre-ordered the vinyl version. Shame it’s such a long wait until release date.

    2. I ordered the CD from Amazon as the box set was far too expensive. The cassette has now sold out from his website but when it was still available it was possible to get all 3 formats for just over £100 together by buying them separately, the only drawback being you didn’t get them in a fancy wooden box which at £300 was mental.

  62. For US peeps: Jethro Tull bursting out SDE is more than 10.00 cheaper on importcds.com than on amazon. I ended up paying $50 which included VAT and shipping whereas it is listed as 59.95 excl. Vat and shipping on anazon.com.

      1. It might be that, if you are outside the UK, there is a slight adjustment for local VAT. Happens to Ireland all the time.

More worryingly, I notice today that you have to spend £35 to get free postage to Ireland. Not so long since it went from £20 to £25, it seems.

        1. On the subject of Ireland, I noticed that the 2 CD deluxe 7″ packaging for T-Rex’S Tanx, had gone down to £14.83. I decided to order, so added it to my basket, but it told me it could not deliver to my address, presumably due to it being in Northern Ireland. Now this was from Amazon EU S.a.r.L. I then tried the ‘Buy It Now’ option and that went through ok. Now whether it gets cancelled, who knows. But why Amazon EU cannot deliver to Northern Ireland, who are still in the single market, is ridiculous. Hope it’s a better situation in the Republic.

          1. Hi Stan,
I am in the Republic and it can be patchy regarding special offers that we see on SDE and elsewhere. Sometimes they are available to us and sometimes not. I think it might be the third party sellers’ policy sometimes – for example the recent Japanese-style Atom Heart Mother was £24 plus £8.50 postage to us.

I play the free post option all the time but suspect, and fear, things may change once we get the recently announced dot IE version of Amazon. Hope it wont limit our ability to buy from CO.UK, FR, DE and so on. We are obviously in the single market but I could see CO.UK being a particular problem … and the others do not offer free postage to here.

          2. I think we will still be able to buy on .co.uk especially if you have prime

          3. Let’s hope it works out ok, horslips. Sometimes I wish we could turn the clock back 20 years. Life seemed simpler then.

          4. I just saw that listed. I tried to order it, cannot be delivered to your address. I’m also in NI. Tried the “buy it now” – same thing. Then I saw it was available from other sellers for the same price. When I checked, the first 2 listings were for Amazon. Thinking the first listing was the one I tried to order. So I tried the second one, and it went through no problem.

I don’t know what Amazon’s marketing department is thinking when it makes items undeliverable to NI customers. Its total embargo on lithium batteries is ridiculous as well.

  63. You can pick up the Black Sabbath Technical Ecstasy 4CD super deluxe from Amazon UK for £33.66 (just search for “technical ecstasy sanctuary” on Amazon as the Rhino edition is still £50+).

  64. Prince sign of the times super deluxe is on sale at prince store for $85.98. I had it in my cart and after a few days later got an email for free shipping. After taxes total was $92.00 shipped

    1. I don’t know if you’re in uk or not, but sign of the times super deluxe is £83.89 post free new and sealed from planet records, through eBay, usually delivered within about 3 to 4 days posted from Newcastle on tyne. I’ve bought from them before and they are quite good.

      1. I’m in America and if I was to convert the total price into GBP from $ it actually comes out cheaper than the site you mentioned. After conversion my total price would have been 72 GBP
For people in America, I think this is the cheapest the set has been especially after the free shipping cart trick

          1. I had the item in my cart, and i think within 2 to 3 days, might have been a few days longer, but I got an email from the Prince store with the title free shipping complete your order now. When I opened the email there was a link that stated
We’ve saved your item(s) in your cart.
Would you like to complete your order?
            Please enjoy
            Free Shipping
            on orders of $75+
            on your next purchase

  65. There’s a 15% discount with certain dealers on eBay. Paul McCartney one hand clapping 2cd, £17.76 from rarewaves uk and rough trade uk have Joni Mitchell’s new asylum albums box at a pre order price of £42.49.

  66. On the official Moby store many albums are on sale dirt cheap. The Wait For Me deluxe edition for a fiver bargain. As long as you aren’t an Eminem fan or meat eater perhaps…

  67. Is that it? Just one Peter Gabriel box set!?. Over at Burning Shed a good sale is going on with a lot of Robert Fripp (and other artists) stuff up for grabs on both vinyl and CD, including Fripp’s magnificent Exposures box set down from £160 to just £90! Grab it now kids!

  68. I pre-ordered this and waited on the individual vinyl last year in order to get it complete in the box set. The majority of my collection is vinyl, but I have a good amount of Atmos and 5.1 blu-rays which are usually a wonderful and (obviously) very different listening experience. The Atmos of this is spectacular in both clarity and instrument separation. Sadly, the vinyl was of very poor quality – and that was after a wet clean. The dark side vinyl in particular (E3 and all of side F, G and H) had distortion and sibilance that’s really bad and unpleasant to listen to. It’s such a shame, as the music is wonderful and an incredible return to form for PG. On that note, I would say most of my Peter Gabriel vinyl does not sound great (with the exception of the early 80s pressings) and I wonder why that is? I have a decent system, wet clean all my new purchases, good stylus, etc. etc.

  69. That Peter Gabriel box will go much lower. Not biting yet. The SO box is still available and I expect this to be available for years. It’s just the 2cd/blu-ray with the vinyl so it shouldn’t be more than maybe $70

  70. Fishmusic.scot is now taking preorders for either 5 disc SDEs, 2 disc DE and vinyl re-issues for his 1st and 2nd album: Vigil in a wilderness of mirrors and Internal Exile. The 5 disc format matches the deluxe format of Feast, Weltschmerz and 13th Star re-issue whereas the 2 disc version matches the existing remaster 2cd book editions.
Nicely put together. These will be the definitive and final versions of his solo output.
Vinyl is pressed in the new, scottish pressing plant Seabass Vinyl.
    Slainthe.

    1. He’s added bundles to the store now, which is slightly irritating given I already ordered items separately. There’s no discount on the product but the shipping rates for the bundle are much less than the combined individual shipping costs.

    2. Glad Barry Grint, who has mastered the vinyl, didn’t remaster the digital versions as he has ruined the Soft Cell remasters with horrid brickwalling that makes them a painful listen.

    1. For me this is a big no. Mixed media, nothing different than the 2CD+Blu-ray on digital except the presence of 96/24 stereo mixes when 48/24 was “accidentally used” on the initial set. Why does one need a 96/24 recoding of a brickwalled (DR6) album? Shame as its a really good album.

    2. If it isn’t in the dire packaging the 2cd/blu came in I’ll hold for the price drop. 2 copies of that both pinged to buggery atrocious packaging and returned.
