  1. Interesting that Paul just added some Mexico tour dates in November. Las Vegas is not too far away. Could a limited Sphere residency in early December follow?

  2. Was successful getting tickets for Manchester Co op, Incredibly happy getting some!, went to see the Doobie Brothers there supporting the Eagles it’s a great venue and the sound is top notch!.

    1. Got seats up in the Gods for the Saturday night in Manc. 6th time seeing Paul so fine with the seats, just happy to be in the room.

Looking forward on experiencing the arena, heard good things about it in amongst all of the widely reported launch issues. High water mark so far for excellent facilities, short queues, reasonably priced food & drinks and pleasant staff is ABBA Voyage. Fingers crossed Co-op Live can live up.

  3. Why do artists announce ‘UK” shows, when what they actually mean, are English shows? Or British shows, playing Scotland and Wales, but inevitably snubbing fans in northern Ireland. Those fans then have to pay additional hundreds of pounds in travel and accommodation costs, if they want to go see their “heroes” play. I don’t think McCartney has played in northern Ireland since the Beatles’ early days. If huge draws like Springsteen and Snow Patrol can put on sellout shows here, there’s no reason why McCartney couldn’t.

    1. 1964, Michael. King’s Hall Belfast. The Belfast Telegraph announced in 2003 that, according to local promoter Jim Aiken, McCartney was definitely going to play Belfast in 2006. Of course it never happened. He has aged considerably since then, turning 82 yesterday. That ship has sailed.

    2. More and more ‘ bigger ‘ artists seem to favour these residencies ( 2 or more nights at same venue ), which I suppose for them makes sense but not so great for fans unless you live close by

  4. I saw Paul in Boston in 2022 on the U.S. leg of the Got Back tour. Of course 80-year old Paul is not going to sound like 40- or 50- (or even 60-) year old Paul. But McCartney is an artist of historical importance, and I will see him perform live every chance I get. Got tix to see Ringo in September (God willing) for the same reason!

  5. I was at Glastonbury 2022 and saw McCartney… I thought his voice was shot, terrible vocals …..I thought he sounded a bit like some OAP tribute act of himself, very sad.
Not how I want to remember him.
I wish I’d seen him when he could still scream.
Elton John on the other hand blew me away… Amazing!

    1. Interesting view. I thought Macca at Glasto 2022 was incredible, whilst Elton at last year’s festival was just plain embarrassing.

    2. When was the last time Elton could still scream and he’s younger than Paul? Happy birthday to Paul. 82 today and still going strong (not counting his singing voice)!

      1. Elton could never scream while doing rock n roll or ever had the same vocal range that McCartney had, which is why Elton sounded pretty much the same throughout his whole career. McCartney sadly now sounds like a frail old man, wish I saw him last century when I had a chance to.

  6. heard interviews with Paul when McCartney III came out back when, and his speaking voice was so raspy and old… thought for sure there is no way he could sing let alone do concerts any longer..

    1. It’s hard to know when to stop. McCartney live has a great band, but the voice is terrible. But there is no law against him going on and the fans still come to the stadium. I’ve seen him in 1989, in 2001 and a few years back. 1989 was the best by far! I regret going the last time……. Paul McCartney should throw the towel, but who’s going to tell him?

  7. I thought he couldn’t sing anymore? Is it just a case of ticking a box just to say you’ve saw a beatle?, was offered a free ticket for hampden years ago, didn’t take it.

      1. Judging by his performance at Glasto, all he has to do is sing the opening line of a song and then the fans take over and sing the rest!

  8. He basically plays the same set since the last 15 years except some minor changes. Would consider flying to the U.K. for the London show of the set list gets an overhaul for the first dates in October.

    1. Pretty sure the 23,500 capacity of the COOP Arena versus the 11,000 capacity of the M and S bank (Echo) Arena has a lot to do with that decision.
Having said that, even though the music scene in Liverpool was thriving in the early 80’s I’d frequently travel to Manchester for gigs. US acts in particular seemed to avoid Liverpool for some reason, so I saw quite a few bands at the Manchester Apollo that didn’t visit the Liverpool Empire or Royal Court on some tours.

      1. Macca has played Liverpool plenty of times over the years and as he reduces the volume of shows going to the larger capacities makes sense.
His show down the Kings Dock in 1990 was incredible.

  9. A UK tour that’s only England, A Europe tour that just adds France and Spain. Maybe there’ll be more dates, but not many more. Likely just additions to the venues he’s in already. Oh well.

  10. Glad to see him back in Europe. Hope he will add a gig in the Netherlands, but there isn’t that much space in between gigs. Hmm… maybe a trip to the UK then.

    1. Maybe, because it’s been almost four years since the last one, but not necessarily because he’s toured somewhere almost every year of the last 22 whether there was an album or not.
