Audio stream summary:
- 48 tracks in Dolby Atmos
- 51 tracks in hi-res stereo (48/24)
If you do not have an Atmos set-up just yet, the Dolby Atmos mixes will ‘fold down’ to 5.1 for the next best surround sound experience.
This really is one you do not want to miss out on! The blu-ray audio will ship with a free and collectible SDE slipcase and is exclusively available via the SDE shop using this link or the buttons below.
The pre-order window closes tomorrow, on Saturday 16 November and is the last point you can guarantee a copy of this release, although there may be some availability due to cancellations/contingency stock much nearer to the release date (27 December 2024).
TECHNICAL NOTES: This blu-ray audio requires a blu-ray player. Decoding the Dolby Atmos mix requires a Dolby Atmos-certified soundbar or a Dolby Atmos-compatible AV Receiver/Amp. The Dolby Atmos mix will ‘fold down’ to 5.1 or stereo if a Dolby Atmos decoder is not detected. This product contains no video.

I ordered this Elton John release immediately upon notice. I just want to take a moment to thank you, Paul, for your good business negotiating skills that made these SDE blu-ray dobly atmos releases available to music enthusiasts. Yes, the people who post on your website, myself included, are fussy and want to appear clever, cheeky, and knowledgeable to our peers with our postings, but I want you to know that what you do is appreciated and brings us much happiness. Again, thank you for your website and for arranging this and many other wonderful previous releases, not to mention future SDE exclusive releases that I for one, am looking forward to.
Thank you, Michael. Appreciated!
Paul thank you and the team for the reminder email as I had totally forgotten about this and would have been miffed to not have this in my collection. It bodes well for the future of this series of Blu Ray when you can get an artist as huge as Elton John .
What surprise do you have lined up for us next.
Oh wow Paul, this is awesome. Ordered instantly, but it does beg the question? How are you going to top this release for the last in the series for December 2024? Dare I suggest: something by Dire Straits, or Deep Purple’s Made in Japan or even a Roxy Music release? We live in hope for that last one :0)
Thank you for the order. I will do my best to deliver something good :)
I was on the fence on this one, but the visuals and sheer FOMO got the best of me. Ordered! Would love to see some of his individual albums released in this format someday.
Slightly off-topic but thanks for sourcing the replacement ‘Pure Audio’ cases, Paul. I asked about the possibility a while back as I was unable to find them anywhere else – so very happy to be able to add a pack to my Elton order :-)
You’re welcome!
I bit the bullet. Don’t need it, already overspent my music budget 3x over but… well I just want it, I think I will really enjoy it.
I cant even argue it’s a Christmas present because of the post Christmas release date. I’m actually quite happy its not coming out till after Christmas because I currently have a backlog of music to listen to. I haven’t managed to listen to the Lament and Lizzy 1976 Blu rays yet, and I’ve only got to 4 of the 10 LPs I bought in the UK when I was back visiting family in early October. The backlog is in danger of becoming a crisis.
(The Queen 1 box set has had far more than its fair share of listening time which hasn’t helped matters)
Anyhow, hoping nothing decent is announced between now and Christmas…
… oh, there’s a new Trevor Horn remixed Band Aid single?
Wonder if this will be his “last” release before coming out of retirement again?
I don’t think Elton is retiring from releasing records, just touring.
Hi Pual I was wondering how comes the tracks are 48k despite some having 96k versions available?
I have a feeling it could be do with space issues (as 48 atmos tracks sounds like it would take alot of space) or it could another reason eg the tracks being all consistent or the label wanting it that way.
There are not many available at 96k, the majority are 48k. Switching in one audio stream is not best practice.
That’s a dope screensaver – oooo, I can’t wait!
