Suzanne Vega‘s 6-disc Close-Up series deluxe will now be released in August.
We told you about the 5CD+DVD set last month and we can now bring you the full track listing, including the bonus audio CD (see below). We can also confirm that these will be very limited indeed, so if you’re a fan it might be worth getting your order in early.
The Close-Up Series deluxe comes as a hardcover book, with four discs compiling the previously released volumes and a fifth offering the digital-only bonus tracks for the first time on CD. These include favourites such as 99.9˚, Freeze Tag and Knight Moves. The sixth disc is a DVD of a previously unreleased concert – Live and Backstage at City Winery.
Close-Up Series deluxe is now released on 11 August 2014.

Hi Paul, Has the date of release not been brought forward again? It was put back to August but Amazon emailed me about a week ago to say the release date was once again May 5th.
No, it’s definitely August.
I recall something about them making the bonus stuff available for those that already have the standard CDs of volumes 1-4. Any details ?
This is from her website last October. I’m sure she confirmed recently that it is still planned to issue the bonus material plus the case separately for those of us who have already purchased the first 4 CD’s.
“We finally finished the Close-Up Series Box Set which should be out in time for Christmas! There is a separate CD with all the previous bonus material gathered together, and then a great DVD directed by my friend Jeffrey Madoff – he came and filmed the full band rehearsing for a special show at the City Winery this summer – so it’s more than just concert footage. Behind the scenes and a special interview as well! For those people who have the complete set of Close-Up Volumes 1-4, a separate wallet will be manufactured with the bonus material and you can buy that separately.”
Sounds like it probably will happen then, although the label couldn’t confirm when I mentioned this.
