  1. Well, this kind of blows. No additional tracks? No MFSL-version “Slowburn”? No alternate “D.I.Y.”, or “Me & My Teddy Bear” from the withdrawn EP? No Alternate UK B-Side version of “Start/I Don’t Remember”? No full version of the alternate “I Have The Touch”?
None of the 3 Recorder Live tracks? No cool archive stuff? I don’t get this … there is reportedly a ton of archive material in Gabriels vaults, in addition to those above tracks. He could pad out his original albums with this material, without even adding another disc — just put a nice 10-second gap btwn the original album material and the new archive stuff (a la McCartney’s earlier 1990 remasters, which, I would think, would be fine with most collectors.) I’d certainly have no problem with it, anyway. Or if that’s a problem, pack a few discs with some cool Archive stuff and include those. Ahh, ptttt. Gabriel and Bush, both of them could release some cool previously unreleased gems — they just won’t. Sucks.

  2. I have an Italian friend who purchased the The PG Collection on my behalf and sent it to me in one package once he had got the lot. It is a nice collection although it offers nothing exclusive except for the box itself (not particularly robust but does look nice) and the book which naturally is in Italian, but contains some nice images. The Plays Live though restored to full double album doesn’t appear to have been remastered, and that is the biggest disapointment. The Long Walk Home is also omitted as is the Secret World Live DVD.
Still, being housed in jewel cases, these have become the standard set of Gabriel albums that I play when I choose too and the slightly less durable remasters from 2002 (mini vinyls and digipacks) can be put into storage to keep them in decent shape.

  3. I have most of this already but would buy this if it was available in America w/Region 1 dvds… (or even just as is, i have all the dvds except the double one already)

  4. No, these have so far always been Italy-only releases if I am not mistaken. I have a similar box for Muse (from 2010) and there is also one for Genesis for instance. You can buy the CD’s just one week and then they are gone.

  5. oh, i am pretty confident we shall see this released in the rest of the world – if not, why then have they put “The Collection” in English on the box?
