  1. Why is it so damn expensive! Also whats with the downloadable only 1967 Sessions and 1968 Sessions? They’re fantastic and I’d happily have them as CD sets. Thankfully I can listen on Spotify but it’s not the same.

  2. carl and the passions lp is very underated. some tracks sound unfinished tho. but pairing it with pet sounds was a MAJOR mistake. shame on you reprise executives. it has stood the test of time . give it a new listen.blondie are rikki were a GREAT addition to the band.

  3. This period covered by the Box Set Feel Flows and the period after including Carl and the Passions / Holland is the most interesting of the Beach Boys long and productive career – this music was way ahead of its time…..

  4. All of the Beach Boys releases of this type have been excellent both physical copies and downloads. Been a fan for far longer than I care to remember and they never fail to entertain and lift the spirits. Music for every occasion.

  5. this is really great paul . i really dont have the $ for all these new box sets and the beach boys is one of them i got the rory for my birthday( wow its so great). so…… if i dont get this i will ask santa.

  6. Will be an interesting listen after not hearing either album since the seventies. I am a major addict of these anniversary box sets. I have to have the major artist releases and this is no different!

  7. I’m not in a position to buy this at the moment so winning a copy would be an absolute joy. Been listening to it on YouTube and the wealth and quality of unreleased material is astonishing, especially all the Dennis Wilson tracks. A truly superb boxset.

    1. a great idea,= a multi box set of ALL of dennis wilson demos, vocals, alt takes, complete takes everthing..he was such a underated member of the beach boys.

  8. I can’t wait to hear this.lt validates what the BB crowd already knows…that THE BEACH BOYS are the greatest band of them all ! It does leave room for an immediate follow up set though. A 5-6 cd set of REVERBERATION/SUN FLOWER/ADD SOME MUSIC/ LANDLOCKED/ HUBBA HUBBA + the partial quad SUNFLOWER & all quad version of SURF’S UP…compiled from alternate takes, further out-takes ,more live stuff. & related tv appearances (David Frost show).Food for thought.

  9. Finally had a chance to enter one of these before the deadline had passed! (I’ve been a bit preoccupied offline lately.) I’ve been wanting this set–I’m trying to make peace with the Beach Boys after many, many years of not listening to them because something really horrible happened when I was younger while “Surfing USA” was playing, and I now I’m missing out on great music by not getting over that.

  10. For me the Beach Boys most innovative, fertile and transcendent period. The history books used to say that this was when they tried to hold it all together post Brian and using scraps of inferior material and outtakes. Not so – post surf ‍♀️ it showed all the Beach Boys maturing into a social conscience , post 60’s band – not too far removed from Marvin Gaye’s astounding reinvention.

  11. The Beach Boys album run from 1969’s 20/20 through to the double LP In Concert (1973) was, for me at least, their finest era. With Ricky Fataar and Blondie Chaplin on board for the latter period of that time, they developed a harder rock edge that I wish they’d never ditched. This is the band at their prime!

  12. If money was no object I would already own this fabulous set that will in all likelihood never actually get to the top of my ‘buy next’ list. So this would be a lovely bonus.  (My buy next list is frequently modified by deals I see flagged on here, so thanks for that)

  13. This is a truly great prize from Paul. Each discs runs 80 minutes (Let it Be ??) and gives a deep dive in to two excellent discs. The sound quality and the track selection are spectacular, gives you another chance to look at Sunflower and Surfs Up and the diverse contribution from the band members at that time.

Could well be the SDE of the year. Good luck everyone, Paul is offering a goodun.

  14. Growing up in Southern California I got to see the BBs live at least a dozen times in the 70’s & 80s. Sunflower has by far been my favorite album of theirs. Over the years, I managed to get my copy signed by everyone except Brian and Dennis :-( The one time I met Brian, I didn’t have it with me darn it! But he did place an illegible squiggle on his solo Smile CD cover. Really looking forward to hearing this, alas now I’d better wait another couple more weeks before ordering just in case…

  15. Two of the most underrated Beach Boys albums! This box set looks phenomenal and I would love to own it! People always talk about God Only Knows being the greatest BB song, but for me Surf’s Up just about eclipses it.

    1. Well, but considering the recording techniques from 1966 were no-par to those of 1969-71 “God Only Knows” remains as a shocking innovative sounding piece of music. Such a shame they never managed to complete “Smile” in the era.

  16. I’ve been listening online and I’m blown away by the bonus material and alternate versions so I’d love a copy of the package so I can read the sleeve notes as I listen at full quality :)

  17. Back in the day as a 10year old one my first LP’s was a Beach Boys compilation (1981, Music for Pleasure). How nice it would be if at 50 Surf would be Up again… fingers crossed!

  18. I’ve always loved the Beach Boys.I remember with joy the Brian Wilson concert in Taormina, in 2018! Magnificient evening! I hope I can win win this beautiful box set.
