  1. Would LOVE this!! Things have been very tight this year and I have had to put this off. But I really would love to own it :) Thanks for the chance, Paul, and for everything you do hear at SDE :)

  2. Who’d have thought there’d be scope for more early live sessions from that time, but there is! Really enjoyed hearing them on Spotify but I’d love my own copy :-)

  3. Entered the competition, thank you for the chance. Although most of the material was already available “in a way or another”, I do hope the sound quality is at its best.

  4. At the rate box sets get released, and I obviously would like them all, it’s becoming harder and harder to follow financially. You have to admit that they also get more and more expensive each year. So I entered the competition. And I’m really trying hard to save to be able to afford the McCartney Archives release of London Town and Back to the Egg which surely have to come out in 2023 (wishful thinking!).

  5. Only thing I ever won was 2 tickets to an Oasis show in Philadelphia c. 1996. Turns out that Liam and Noel had a fight and Liam was a no-show. I didn’t end up going to the concert so I still have the untorn tickets. Any collectors of that sort of memorabilia out there?

I do want this Bowie box. Hopefully lightning (frightening) strikes twice!

    1. Oasis concert without Liam and you didn’t go? To my ears it would be much better. George Harrison once said that Noel is much better singer!

  6. Now that Parlophone can see that a couple of thousand people have entered this comp, they know they have a potential market if they tweak the price downward. A great service all-round from Mr Sinclair and SDE !

  7. Despite saying I never win, It’s come to me that i did once! which was a signed framed artwork of a James best of from my then local music store the long gone “Roxcene” in Newport, South Wales a long tome ago. So here’s hoping!

  8. DAVID BOWIE IS LITERALLY THE BEST HUMAN BEING TO HAVE EXISTED ON THIS PLANET. HE WIL FOREVER BE REMEMBERED. ✋

I hope he does well on his journey as a starman.

  9. Amazing prize again!! Love SDE! I have a lot of Bowie, but hadn’t bought this one… fingers crossed I won’t have to!!!
    Thanks Paul, love your work

  10. I appreciate having the chance to win. I’ve been getting into Bowie a little more over the years. U2 having Space Oddity leading into their 360 tour somehow sparked a Bowie passion in me. The Bowie people have had some oddball releases, but lately, have done a lot more than the imaginary “Prince Estate” and the rag tag bunch of lawyers, who think trinkets and clothing are more important than the music. Bowie may not have been as prolific as Prince, but he truly has a lot of first rate material, and with him, the second rate material is usually interesting. A true Bowie enthusiast would scoff at the fact that Modern Love was the song that turned me into a casual fan.

  11. I am one of these people who never win anything…. I know everyone says this …. But I Never won the lottery, or a sweep stake, a raffle or that Tom bowler thing that’s at every fate type event… so this is my time,
… well I can dream! Good luck and enjoy your listening to the winner.

  12. If I won I would pass this on to my brother who is a massive fan, it was because of him I grew up listening to Bowie. Good luck to everyone and thnx Paul.

  13. Next up on the SDE prize list the Pink Floyd Clutch Bag you mentioned on Twitter Paul!, my girlfriend said she’s up for taking a chance in a draw for one of those (why she likes it I cannot comprehend!!). Women and their handbags!!!. I’ll stick with taking a chance on this!!.

  14. As someone lucky enough to have received this box set as a gift for my birthday, I’ll say anyone who reads this site and has any curiosity about this box set, go ahead and sign up. It’ll be worth your time and listening if you win it. This is a cool addendum to the original ‘Hunky Dory’ album and I hope there will be more sets created like this for Bowie’s catalog. Paul congratulations on being able to score a copy of this from the label to give away, here’s hoping you are all able to secure more offerings like this in the future! I for one would gladly take a won copy of the upcoming Robert Palmer CD box set for example….. :)

    1. The label didn’t give me anything!! I ended up with two copies, both of which I bought (long story), so I thought I may as well give the other one away to an SDE reader, rather than it just lying around here doing nothing :)

      1. Paul, that’s very generous of you. I took a chance when I did something similar with the xPropaganda Blu-Ray (somehow I ordered the bundle and the BD) and passed the spare copy to a friend who I knew would appreciate the surround sound and might like the music. He ended up liking it very much.

Anyway, Bowie’s not my thing, so I won’t be entering, but I appreciate the opportunity. Good luck to all and congratulations to the winner.

      2. Paul,

Thank you for your generosity in sharing with SDE subscribers the opportunity to get their hands on a copy of this work by David Bowie.
I wish good luck to all of us.

      3. Knowing this makes your giveaway even more special for whoever wins it, and my apologies for my assumption! SDE is a daily visit for me and hope your efforts are gathering attention from ‘the industry’ enough to where someday they WILL send you copies of reissues to give away! I honestly feel your site is a better marketing tool than what record labels are currently doing/not doing!

        1. Thanks Brad. I should hasten to add I do get sent plenty of ‘free’ stuff for unboxings and sometimes for competitions, but SDE is on the ‘shitlist’ at the Bowie camp at Warners for some reason (!)

  15. Excellent competition, excellent website. The unboxing video really makes you appreciate how great the box set is. It will make an awesome companion alongside Conversation Piece and Beatles SDEs!

  16. Does anyone saying ‘Good Luck to all’ actually mean it? If you left that as a comment but didn’t enter, fair enough.
But if you entered, you want to win it yourself.

So while I won’t wish you all good luck because that would be disingenuous of me, I do hope whoever wins,
    1. Doesn’t already own a copy, and
    2. plays it and enjoys it.

    Good luck ev… Doh!

  17. Odds are against me but you have to he in it to win it, so hey, here goes. Good luck everyone.

Thanks Paul for another great SDE competition. Great work!

  18. times are tough so i have passed on this as i couldn’t justify the money
Fingers crossed as never win anything usually. Thanks for the chance Paul
