  1. I didn’t know that this was out for RSD. I would certainly have tried to buy a copy when it was not as expensive as it is now. Would be great to win this amazing double lp!

  2. I ordered one from an Amazon merchant but it was lost in the mail. The sound quality of this show is awesome and is very similar to the acoustic set they toured in the US late ’92 that I had the good fortune to see (second on a ticket with Soup Dragons and Tom Tom Club strangely enough). I feel this was one of their many career live highpoints!

  3. Early James box set please. ‘Jimone” – “One Man Clapping” + singles, b-sides, demos & radio sessions.
The original (Lester Piggot) version of ‘Sit Down’ (it was not a hit the first time around) was the turning point for me. An amazing eccentric inspired and original band began pushing for a blander more mainstream success. I assume they were looking at the Madchester boom and wanted some of that. It worked (financially anyway) but not artistically (in my opinion), and a whole slew of boring records followed. Just wished they’d held onto their integrity an achieved success on their own terms (it IS possible).
But, by god, I loved – love early James – show me one record they’ve made since the ‘Sit Down’ (remake) breakthrough that can match the utterly magnifique ‘Hymn From A Village’. Not many groups have.
I believe there was talk of a multi-cd box of the early era some years back which was subsequently shelved (I assume in favour of ‘Gathering Sound’) – it was to be titled ‘Paradise Lost’. ‘Nuff said.

  4. Includes 2 of my favourite ‘James’ tunes – RING THE BELLS & SOUND. Also the massive and most well known James Anthem ‘Sit Down’ – One of the LP’s I missed out on this year for RSD. Thanks again Paul/SDE for another great competition!

  5. A great competition Paul, didn’t even know there was a recording of this concert, as i’m from Manchester couldn’t resist entering this competition.

    Thank You
