  1. Hey Paul, these are always fun – just curious and apologies if many asked in the past – hard to keep up with every single post on every thread of this wonderful website that I’ve read almost every day for over a decade — but about what percent of these deals come from you actually scrounging and foraging through the various country versions of Amazon, vs. people sending you tips? Back when we lost Tom Petty was a couple years before it was even possible to hear good sound via any kind of streaming so I was still quite disdainful of the practice at that time based strictly on the sound quality. (I love a good set of liner notes or a good box book and still buy several I guess the last one would be Revolver though shame about the no blu-ray and for that reason alone Apple lost a sale and I waited til I found it used and cheap, but care nothing for “stuff” as you’ve called it or for colored variations of anything and it’s all about hearing as much music, and new music or new to me (which includes like making a complete chronological playlist of every recording ever by 100 different people gosh I love building those and making sure to only use the high res tracks if they exist or the best version of the cd quality ones) in as good quality as I can with the right equipment and cables to make it sound good without going bankrupt — if anyone uses qobuz let me know and I’ll send you some) — and so when we lost Petty, I desperately wanted to hear the album Echo for some reason, I think because I heard Room At The Top somewhere maybe youtube and my goodness… ok follow John’s example in 1970 “men hurt” and what Paul’s said recently, that song truly in that moment moved me to tears and I had not been a Petty completist before just had a handful of the great albums but I HAD to have that one, and guess what? None of my local shops had a cd, Amazon US didn’t have one, so I found one on Amazon UK and that may have been the very first time I’d ever found in my Amazon app that there were actually all of these country variation and wow that was a trip seeing all the different things everywhere, so got it there and it arrived like 3 weeks later. But gosh I played that cd to death before I built my 31 hour complete Petty and wow that one is almost entirely high res dang it sounds great) Although, it turns out almost always that even if there’s something that’s a steal locally, by the time you add shipping to the States it really eats it up.

  2. There was a great deal about a week ago at All Your Music (via eBay) for Joni Mitchell Archives Vol 3. A couple of readers noted some packaging issues previously with this vendor. My copy arrived today, well packaged in perfect condition and (with the deal) cost £40 including postage to UK. If this piques your interest the promotion is still running.

  3. On amazon.com.be (=Amazon Belgium) :
Horslips – More than you can chew-boxset
    Al Stewart – Admiralty lights-boxset
    both available for 149,99 € !
    Now, that’s a deal !

    1. Both sets seem to be sold out at Amazon Belgium, but Horslips box is 149,99 € on both Amazon Spain and Italy. I purchased from Spain and wasn’t charged postage to the UK.

  4. If you enjoyed Paul’s video about the Four Season’s boxset Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons – Working Our Way Back To You – The Ultimate Collection – WAS available from Burning Shed at £265 down from £350 – did try to post (twice) last week but never authorised – now back to £350 :-( I got mine, FedEx delivery, excellent product, wish I’d bought two. Looks like some good deals on eBay for the same- limited 2500 worldwide

  5. Global deals are selling the Neil Young ORS 22, 23+, 24 & 25 CD set for £29 on Amazon and ebay. On ebay, they are also doing £2.32 off that, with DEALS8.

  6. SDE states deal over for Who’s Next 10 CD, Blu-ray, books etc for £118 over but I just looked and its “only” £127 so still a deal over its intro price of nearly £200 I think it was ! I did go for the £118 deal which while still comes in at around a tenner per CD in this case, imho, still a matter of quality over quantity.

  7. Here is little drop on Neil Young – Archives Vol II 1972-1976 – 100 EUR on amazon.de

U2 – Songs of Surrender (orange vinyl) is 25 EUR on amazon.de

  8. The REM Up 25th anniversary 2CD set is a more sensible £13.94 on Amazon UK (started at £25 last year).

Basically it’s the price it should’ve been at release, but that’s good enough for me.

There’s also an opportunity to pick up the Beatles US Albums box set for £98 on there – decent price for that set.

    1. Agreed … that did it for me too … just collected it from my local pick-up point. The initial pricing (and still for the 2CD+Bluray [£41.99 at HMV, £35.32 on Amazon UK]) was way too high (imho, of course) … anyway, looking forward to a listen later …

    2. I’m in for this considering the 5:1 mix is the same as the 2005 edition which I already have I’m not interested in the 3 Disc set.

Thanks for the info Matt D.

  9. Good price at the Polydor Store (UK) for the
    ROLLING STONES – SUPER DELUXE 3CD/1DVD BOX + 7″ – £35.
Even cheaper if you subscribe and get 20% off your 1st order.
Postage is £4.25 – so with the discount it cost me £32.25 all in.

  10. I have just bought the Joni Mitchell Archives 3 set on CD from all your music on eBay for £40.32. It’s £48.38, already a great price, but the seller offers 25% off if you buy a second item. I added a single CD to activate it.

    1. Not trying to worry you but I bought a us sitcom box set from this company (located in Louisville Kentucky) on eBay and the box arrived looking like it had been run over by a steam roller. I was also looking at the Joni box for £48 but my previous experience put me off. Still i hope yours arrives in perfect condition.

  11. As regards the Amazon.de Stones SHCD offer… what a shambles… first order says I had cancelled it when I hadn’t. Re-ordered and two of the 5 discs came. Two further were again cancelled and a third also cancelled and refunded only on the proviso that I send it back even though they haven’t sent it out! How they were still selling them two days ago given they don’t seem to actually have any is a mystery.

    1. Well, I got that “we fully expect this item to be delivered” message when I ordered that “Who’s Next/Life house” superdel for $50 or whatever it was, last year and I petitioned for a refund when it didn’t get delivered within 2 months of the tracking schedule. I guess that’s how they ‘pretend’ it got sent out….

    2. Yep had same problem, three out of six ordered have arrived, two cancelled and one awaiting dispatch. The ones that arrived do sound incredible though!

    3. You’re lucky you got to order as they wouldn’t take an order via my bank card for some strange reason as it came up with an error and yet once you clicked past it, it looked like the order was going through but I cancelled it then myself just to be on the safe side as I didn’t want to be charged for something it looked like I wasn’t going to get. It’s not just on Amazon De it’s Amazon FR as well. Though I live in Northern Ireland I’ve never had a problem ordering through them before.

      1. I watched these for a few days and ordered 15 in all. So far 14 have turned up with IORNR delayed for 6 weeks. Today, Tattoo You was back at EUR 8 albeit with a delivery date of beginning of March so snapped it up. So definitely not perfect but at EUR 8 a pop it is worth a bit of uncertainty.

  12. David Bowie – Brilliant Adventure 1992-2001 (11 CD) is down to $57 on Amazon US with free Prime shipping, via a couple of third-party sellers. Only a few copies left, so hurry.

  13. The Band: Cahoots 50th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition (LP + 2CD + Blu-Ray) $37 on AMZ US (76% off $150 list price)
Pink Floyd: The Dark Side of the Moon 2023 Atmos Blu-ray $20 on AMZ US (20% off $25 list price)

  14. Trees (50th Anniversary Edition) 4CD box set is £24 on Bandcamp using the discount code earthgang25. Postage to UK is £3. Purchase includes, of course, immediate download in your format(s) of choice.

  15. The Rush Signals 40th Anniversary boxset is £137 on amazon uk. Similar price with hmv. Original cost price was £230. I haven’t seen this drop mentioned. I treated myself to it (Rush withdrawal post Geddy show?) and it’s rather nice. Impressive new designs from Hugh Syme with some wonderful pixellated head shots! Of course, I wish there was a live show but alas and is it still expensive? Yep, but again, it’s rather nice. Is it worth it? :-)

  16. Who’s Next 10 CD + bluray box was briefly down to £118 on Amazon UK (now back up to £194) but may still be worth keeping an eye out for fluctuations. Also some bargain Rolling Stones vinyl on Amazon France – Goat’s Head Soup 12.89 Euros (£13.63 inc postage to UK), Exile On Main Street (2 LP half speed remastered) 19.99 Euros (£20.91 inc postage but also on Amazon UK at £23.99 inc delivery).

    1. Who’s Next box is still £118 if buy from Amazon themselves – has been for days – the £194 is from a third party seller which is being listed ahead of Amazon.

  17. Whilst looking for something else on Ebay UK, I came across the 10 CD Deep Purple Complete albums 70-76 for £27.99. I haven’t been looking at this, so I could be wrong, but it seems cheap.
The forthcoming Colosseum 6 CD Elegy box set is 37.99 on Rough Trade, £49.99 on Amazon.
Does anyone come across the Grapefruit compilations at a discount?

    1. I’ve noticed a couple of times recently that Cherry Red releases (Grapefruit being one of their labels) have expensive pre-order prices on Amazon and are cheaper to buy direct from Cherry Red or elsewhere. The last Marc Almond deluxe box was one and the Fall album due out on Friday as a 5 Cd set is almost a tenner more on Amazon at the moment as a pre-order than it is on the Cherry Red site.

    2. The Deep Purple box on Discogs is only available new at a similar low price, shipping from China. I’m guessing then that these might be knock off copies. Does anyone know otherwise? Seems too good.

    3. This sounds good in theory but the fact is that Cherry Red’s postage fees are ridiculous. They want £7 to deliver that Collosseum clamshell box for a start.

  18. It’s worth noting than in addition to most of those Rolling Stones Japanese editions still being available on Amazon Germany for €7.99 the super deluxe edition of Sticky Fingers is there for €58.99

  19. If you’re collecting the New Order 12″ singles, the True Faith one is just under £12 on Amazon UK at the mo. And you get Autorip with it too.

  20. Pixies Live in brixton 8 CD box available for postage plus a few quid on eBay across multiple sellers. Seems to be a large volume of these at very low prices

    1. I saw those yesterday after someone mentioned about the Live at Coachella thing. I was wondering if they were a bit dodgy. Or maybe I was a bit annoyed after paying about £30 odd quid for it :)

      1. There was an issue where some of the pages in the book are in the wrong order, which may be why it’s so cheap. But even so, it’s an incredible bargain.

    2. I bought a copy at a giveaway price last year. The only issue is that the pages of the text are in an apparently random order. Not a massive problem , but it would be irksome if I’d paid pull price.

      1. Given a lot of what’s on those pages is along the lines of “My name is Bob and I’ve always wanted to see the Pixies, now I’ve seen them at Brixton” it’s no big deal

  21. New sealed copy of Bob Dylan’s the 1966 live recordings, 36cd box set, £55 free p+p from a seller on e bay. That works out at about £1.50 a disc.

    1. I paid £38 for Bob’s ‘66 Live Box when it was released. I don’t know how long the price stood but The Dodgers (Amazon) honoured the special offer.

  22. The two Pixies deluxe 7″ casebound 2CD editions of Live From Coachella 2004 and Live From Brussels 2009 sets have dropped to £16 on Amazon UK. Cheapest either have been on there I believe.

Also The Rolling Stones – A Bigger Bang Live On Copacabana Beach 2BR/2CD set is down to £23.50 too.

  23. Just nabbed a copy of george michael older deluxe edition for $57 shipped on amazon.com after a clipped 20% off coupon on the item
$57 for 2 records and 5 cds isnt bad at all

  24. The Coral – The Coral 20th Anniversary 2CD edition is a super £6.79 on Amazon UK (search “The Coral 2CD Run On” to find it because it doesn’t come up on most searches for some reason)

Over on Amazon FR there’s a super price for the 4CD Joni Mitchell Asylum Albums 72-75 – it’s £20.64

Then over on Amazon IT the 2DVD/4CD edition of The Cure’s 40 Live Curaetion 25 + Anniversary is £40

And on Amazon DE the CD/DVD version of The Police’s Around The World is £6.63

  25. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers – Live at the Fillmore – 6 LP is 100 EUR on amazon.fr
Joni Mitchell – The Asylum Albums 1972-75 – 4 CD is 24 EUR on amazon.fr

  26. It’s worth checking the Rolling Stones Japan SHM CDs that are shown as sold out. The availability changes all the time, and I’ve picked up copies I want over the last couple of days.

  27. A bit left-field perhaps but ‘Ram On’ 50th Anniversary Tribute to Paul & Linda McCartney’s Ram is 50% off with the code SOUM24 on Cherry Red Records website… + shipping of course. Applicable to both the 2LP and CD versions.

      1. apologies just noticed the OP stated amazon.de I was looking at uk store where the above is £58 – on closer inspection the above deal I posted is seemingly for the triple vinyl of vol 15 & double of vol 16 but confusingly also shows a pic of the CD boxset of 16 but doesn’t mention it in the deal description that was hidden when I first opened the page

      1. That would get three pints round here! When it’s put that way, stay in this afternoon and make for an obvious purchase with thanks to the OP.

  28. For those in Australia, Amazon AU have The Who – Who’s Next Life House SDE for $262 and The Beach Boys – Sail on Sailor 6CD SDE for $88. These prices are by far the cheapest we’ve seen in Oz.

  29. A good deal on the Bill Bruford “Making a Song and Dance” anthology from Amazon Italy. Even with next day delivery (from UK!), it’s coming in at about £20, which is £5 cheaper than current Amazon Prime UK price which is already heavily discounted.

      1. We’ve done well! UK stock with Prime delivery at this price has gone at Amazon, although it’s still 18 euro plus delivery from Italy with 10 days wait. (And still a bargain at £23 from Amazon UK Marketplace for delivery wc 15 Jan)

  30. Elton’s jewels 8cd box set, new and sealed, being offered by a seller on e bay for £55 with a discount coupon applied. Supposedly 10+ available.

  31. 3 Bowie items at half-decent prices on Amazon uk, the toy ep at £5, the brilliant adventures ep £6.50 (both rsd) and moonage daydream music from the film 2cd set at £8.70.

  32. Not sure about any of the other albums, but my copy of Pretzel Logic was similarly poor quality to those in the reviews on Discogs. Noise all over the place

    1. Agree – these lastest vinyl releases of Steely Dan have been a disapointmenet in sound quality. That’s probably why they are beginning to go cheap now …

    2. Perhaps you need to get the uhqr version, a snip at £188. The mind boggles. I can see the bottom falling out of the vinyl market (again).

      1. I’ve actually bought all four of the Dan UHQRs this far and I’m currently £800 plus invested into them and there are still 3 more to get, I actually think they are worth the money. I bought the Can’t Buy A Thrill album at £22.50 and I was always thinking what’s the UHQR like in comparison. To be honest it is better not £180 better but it is a considerable improvement on el cheapo so I continued and they have all been good.
Steely Dan are my fav band so to me
It’s worth the cost and I don’t regret buying them. They are eventually going to be released on 45 in more basic admittedly quality jackets, but that may be 2025, the only hassle is having to get out of my seat to turn the disc over every 8 mins or less!.

    3. I bought Pretzel Logic and Countdown to Ecstasy on Polish Amazon. Pretzel Logic seems fine. Will listen to it again to make sure. However Countdown is very distorted on A2 and A3, similar comments from some discogs users.

    1. Bloody hel! I’ve been buying all of those Steely Dan reissue/remaster LPs and haven’t played any yet. I’d better get them on the phonograph.

  33. Also on Amazon.com/US
Neil Young – Barn (Vinyl / CD / DVD) Deluxe Box – $17.01 USD
Brian May – Star Fleet Deluxe Vinyl Box – $31.34 USD
Eric Clapton – Nothin But the Blues Deluxe Box – $51.99 USD
Cat Stevens – Mona Bone Jackson Deluxe – $54.95 USD (Insane discount!)
Bob Dylan – Fragments out of Time Deluxe – $78.26 after 20% coupon on Amazon.com/USD

That Neil Young price is absolute bonkers cheap on that album…just a couple USD dollars more than regular cd.

  34. The deluxe Yes set is even further discounted on Amazon.com/US with a 20% off coupon you click. I scooped up last night for $56.00 free shipping plus tax. Amazing deal on this super deluxe edition.

  35. Seems we have the first blink on the Dylan Budokan set. £130 on Amazon UK.

Still a little too rich for my blood – if only that there may be a vanilla version later that would do me fine.

    1. I ordered a couple of days ago at £155 and it’s being delivered today
But just chatted to Amazon and they agreed to credit the difference and I will get it at £129 so chuffed.
This was my 1st Dylan album when it was released and at 16 one of the first albums I bought myself
      So a nostalgia purchase

      1. Cheers. I’m in. First Dylan album I ever heard. Amazon Christmas vouchers been burning a hole in my pocket for a week now! Even though at some point I’m sure it’ll be cheaper, from £191 to £129 in a matter of weeks ain’t bad. Thanks for the heads up.

    2. I’d wager that it’ll be well below £80 within 12 months. I’ve never paid more than around £65 for any of the Bootleg CD boxes and I’m expecting the same here.

  36. For anyone interested the box set of all the Ocean Colour Scene albums I think it’s 15 CDs is presently £79.99 on Amazon UK. I got it for £49.99 as I’d a Christmas voucher for Amazon to the value of £30 which was a bit of a result as I’d been waiting a long time for this to come down in price.

    1. I paid £89 for the O.C.S. 15CD box and I highly recommend it. This band had more tunes, musicianship and originality than N. Gallagher and his cronies. Thinking about it just about every band had more originality.

  37. I’ve had the Charlie Brown Christmas set in my want list for over a year, patiently awaiting a price drop. According to CamelCamelCamel, this is the lowest it’s ever gone (at least on Amazon USA) so I’ve finally jumped. Thanks for the alert, Paul!

      1. It’s a great album and – if you grew up on Charlie Brown – it brings back very pungent memories of the magic of Christmas. I find the music uplifting and optimistic and full of hope, joy and happiness. It’s special, magical and makes you feel good: for me, it’s like a TARDIS that takes me back to being 8 years old.

      2. I enjoy it for a lot of the reasons Amusiclover describes below, as well as a personal attachment to “Linus and Lucy,” the first jazz-tinged thing I learned on the piano as a kid. For years after, I could strike that one up when a piano appeared and anyone around my age would start to bop around.

The album seems to have a pretty significant following in the US, as recently there’s been a new vinyl version released just about every year at Christmastime.

  38. Thanks for the Deal Alert email, I just got the Vince Guaraldi Trio Charlie Brown Christmas set. I’m going to go over to that release’s thread and post a longer comment there.

  39. I just received my copy of the Charlie Brown box, and it is very nice! I’ve been waiting a full year for the price to drop, patience has been rewarded. I haven’t had the chance to listen to the Atmos mix yet, fingers crossed it’s as good as the rest of the contents.

  40. Found the Joni Mitchell Archives Vol 3 set on eBay from the states at £48 with free shipping and VAT included, £40 before that. So I’ve finally caved in and bought it, a good saving of £18 on current Amazon UK price. Knowing my luck it will be at that price on Amazon soon but I’ve gone for it anyways!.

  41. Dear old Rod the Mod has tried all our patience for many years now with lets say questionable releases. It surely is an embarrassment to him though that Amazon is selling his latest (excluding another themed effort with Jools Holland) Tears of Hercules on vinyl for £5.70. How low can it go!

    1. I have quite a few, can’t really tell any difference regarding playback*. I picked mine up because as the Stones above they were a very good price and the packaging.

      1. It’s still $18.92 on Amazon US. Not sure if it’s colored vinyl or not, I haven’t found anything in the listing that specifies color.

          1. Got mine a couple days ago, the double boxing was very effective and much appreciated.

    1. It is a half decent price for Amazon. And if you have, say, an Amazon UK gift card/voucher, for as little as a fiver, an even better deal. I got a sealed second copy for my Associates collection last year, off of ebay, along with the signed cassette, for £22.50!! Inc. postage. One of the deals of the year for me in 2023, and there weren’t many. Sometimes even ebay can still surprise you if there are no other bidders.

  42. Blondie’s Against All Odds 4 LP Vinyl set in traditional black available on Amazon UK at £69.28 – £20 less than the red coloured edition.

  43. Someone nabbed the last US Aftermath just as I was about to complete my order for a full set. It’s probably for the best – I realised after that I only really want a couple of these after all. But what a price!

    1. Decades ago I stopped buying sets of things unless I really wanted them. At the time it was Graphic novels, I bought only seven of a series of ten, it was the best thing I have ever done when it comes to my hobbies.

  44. Has anyone got the 2016 Mono CD UK Box and the SHM Japan 60’s CDs. Apart from the potential better CD player readability of the SHM CDs, how does the packaging compare please. The box was pretty good I felt. Thanks in advance.
