    1. I actually cancelled my original order for this box set, why? I haven’t a feckin’ clue!

So instead of getting it for around £65 I’m now paying £82, serves me feckin’ right.

There’s going to be some disappointed sellers on line the first run is selling for £200+

      1. It’s good that it’s back in print. It’s a reasonable price. All is fair in love and war with online sellers. If someone decided to opportunistically bulk buy copies and try selling them for double or triple face value and get caught out with a repress, that’s kind of tough. You win some, you lose some. It could be argued that bulk buying leads to a box set “selling out” unnecessarily. Many box sets (e.g. Sandy Denny one at £1,200) will never sell at that price, so they are effectively off the market. In terms of content, the completist in me wants this, but I don’t play Live And Dangerous that much, so would I really play several very similar sets much, more than one. A bit like It’s Alive by the Ramones.

          1. Heinz, I just assumed it was a re-press, though they probably won’t advertise it as such as some people grumble about their limited copy being less limited. Maybe some “found stock” in which case as you say, maybe it won’t be fullfilled. They definitely didn’t press enough as it was quite hard to get hold of. I know they like to create a bit of rarity with these sets to stop people waiting around too long, but I definitely think when things sell out a week or so after release, they’ve gone a bit low and just encourage scalper type behaviour on ebay etc.

          2. It hasn’t been repressed – yet – according to the Thin Lizzy store customer service.
The £82 offer has also now disappeared from the Amazon listing.
So, either Amazon found some old stock somewhere and people got lucky, or some cancellations are to be expected

          3. I’ve just checked my order and it’s still there and the £82 offer is still on @23:12 on the 29th.

  1. This might fall in the “we’re getting there” category: Amazon U.S. has reduced “Sail on Sailor” (Beach Boys box) by 38 per cent off the list price, now making it US$92.64 (as of Sunday, August 27, 2023 at 5:50 p.m. North American Eastern time).

    1. It was down to the same price a few weeks back and I finally got it. The Costello/Bacharach set dropped to about $92 for a few days as well around the same time. I was tempted, but it is still too much for the content. $75 or so, I may jump.

  2. HMV.com have a 30% off Flash sale on some Vinyl “FLASH30” over the August Bank Hols. It’s worth putting something like “1921 Vinyl” into your search to find what they have. Some limited time offers already and others with a further 30% off. I think the limited ones are already showing at the offer price (i.e. no further reduction). Check you basket price before you check out. Blonde On Blonde, Astral Weeks, Disraeli Gears all under £25 each on a range of colours. Quite a few more to choose in the £20 to £25 offer price.

    1. Thanks for this. The Rory Gallagher and Gary Moore 1921 series are also highly recommended.
The Doors 1921 release – which some of you will remember had an asking price of £49.99 – is included in the 30% off selection. However, probably still too much for a single LP……

      1. Agree Simon. I’d love an LA Woman Gold, but £35 is still too much. £25 and I’ll bite, though at £35 it is the best I’ve seen it. Glad you found some stuff.

  3. David Bowie – the width of a circle 2 CD + book at 10 € in amazon Spain
Prefab Sprout – Steve McQueen Picture disc at 11 € in amazon Spain

    1. I don’t know what games Amazon are playing with this, shooting it up to £260 + and back then down. I still might cancel mine at the 11th hour as I think it has to be sub £200 to be a “fair” price. The pattern with single CDs over £16 is also crazy, Neil Young Chrome Dreams, Lloyd Cole On Pain etc. Do they want to kill the physical market? I’m just going to wait them out at that price, where at £10 I’d be in on release.

  4. At the Dutch Bol.com it is on a selection of music and films 2 + 1 free (maybe only today). They give you a 33% discount.
So if you buy Pink Floyd DSOTM 50th ann (€259,-) and two cheap dvd (3,47 + 3,56) you pay a total of €177,36.
The discount is not on everything.

  5. Maybe one for completists only but the 13CD Beatles US Albums box set is £90 on Amazon UK.

Couple of others worthy of note:

    Mark Knopfler’s 6CD 1992-2007 box is £15

Dylan’s Springtime In New York box set is £57

    1. I guess the US albums set didn’t last long.

Then again, I have the first eight, and “The Beatles Story” isn’t worth having really.

They should have done a “volume three” but etc…

      1. The US Albums box is definitely a curiosity – it’s not actually authentic (it’s produced from the wrong masters) so the hard to find Capitol Albums sets are a better way to get the “proper” US album experience, but as you say they skipped Vol 3 so it’s an incomplete experience.

But it’s a (theoretically) cheaper way to get the Mono versions of a decent chunk of the early stuff than the Beatles In Mono box. I have both (I picked up a mint 2nd hand copy of US from eBay for about £70) and quite like the unfamiliarity of the track lists from the US box.

  6. Elton John’s superb Madman Across the Water box set is available for £27 from Amazon UK other sellers. This is a great high quality release, and worth considering if you have any interest. There were issues with the Blu-ray but very easy and fast to get a replacement.

  7. The Beatles Revolver vinyl box is £116 on Amazon UK atm, which is very consistent with a nice price drop coming a week after I bought it lol. Saw a guy in IKEA yesterday who had a copy of Hunky Dory to make sure it fitted in a kallax, I persuaded him to go for the 5×5 option lol, do any of the SDE gang know of a IKEA box insert that fits into a kallax cube with the vinyl in it?

    1. The inserts all look to be 33 x 33 cm with various fronts to them. I’ve previously bought the inserts with glass doors (703.402.99) to house my box sets. I just put a vinyl record sleeve into one and it fits great EXCEPT the side with the door hinge on just snags the sleeve ( the other side is fine). Same problem if I put the record into an insert with wooden door (403.215.46).
A solution I might try myself would be to buy the cheaper “insert with door” at £12 but don’t fit the door or the hinges – use a couple of self tapping screws instead on the side (which is all that holds the other side in place anyway).
Cheapest solution of course would be for IKEA to sell the inserts on their own – which would be a simple and cheap addition to the range and could prove very popular for us all!

  8. Been some good amazon ES vinyl deals in recent times. Does anyone have a link to the ‘movers and shakers’ music page on there please ? That’s often a good place to find bargains on the UK site.

  9. Revolver 5 CD Set now 63.81 Euros on Amazon.NL.

I know that they won’t deliver to most of us, but still a very good deal if you can get it.

  10. A decent summer sale now on at Bleep Records – I bought the XX’s I See You box set for £14.99, various Osees coloured LPs fpr £11-£13, LCD Soundsystem’s New Body Rhumba vinyl at half price £7.24 (great song – never seen it anywhere for this price) and some other CDs at half price including Hudson Mohawke’s excellent Cry Sugar:

    https://bleep.com/summer-sale-2023?utm_source=ActiveCampaign&utm_medium=email&utm_content=Weekly+Roundup%3A+Summer+Sale%2C+Bonobo%2C+Actress%2C+OSEES%2C+DJ+Sprinkles+++more%21&utm_campaign=Weekly+Roundup%3A+18th+August+2023

    1. Thanks AG200, what is their service like normally? Ordered a few LPs last week that were in stock but haven’t had any shipping updates yet, some of the online reviews of Bleep are not very positive…

      1. Thanks AG200 – have taken advantage of a few deals this week on Bleep thanks to your post.

Mr Pheasant – I ordered some vinyl last week and got notification of shipping today. I suspect they’ll be busy with lots of orders due to the sale. Have ordered in the past without any problems so hope your LPs arrive soon.

        1. Thanks Biglamb. That’s reassuring, I received a shipping confirmation as well this morning, so will wait patiently for the order to arrive. Cheers!

  11. I spotted on wowhd’s website aka the former cdwow website that the new Stevie Nicks box set is £71 or thereabouts and that’s with free postage which for the 10 CD box set isn’t too shabby. They’re not the cheapest for everything but that one caught my eye.

  12. I’m having to return my Peter Green And Friend box set to Townsend as all 4 vinyl records were scuffed!
Was I unlucky it is this a common problem?

    1. Not directly connected however, I received my vinyl copy of the Stevie Nicks (The Complete Studio Albums) from Dig last week only to find both outer and inner boxes were completely battered, bashed and bent! Dig have refunded me but you would like to think that with such behemoth box sets they would try that little bit harder when it came to packing. Not ordering another.

      1. Dear Slatts

Are you based in the UK? I want to order from Dig but was unsure if you get hit really hard with inport duty. I want to buy the new Blu ray QUADIO’s that have become available.

        Thanks
        Mike

          1. Hi

I want to order from Dig but was unsure if you get hit really hard with import duty. I want to buy the new Blu ray QUADIO’s that have become available.

Some companies seem to be able to send to UK without me havong to incur large duty costs.

            Thanks
            Mike

          2. Hi Mike
I’m unclear what country you are in, but Dig ship orders from the UK – so UK to UK obviously no import fees. If you are in EU, then it depends on whether package is over or under 150 euros. There is a detailed page on the Dig site that covers the detail – there’s a link to it on their home page.

          3. Hi

Thank you — I am in the UK.

I must apologise I misread the T&Cs on the DIG website!

Probably over cautious after some terrible import duty I have been hit for in the past.

            Again, thank you for replying.

            Regards
            Mike

    1. My daughter lives in Belgium and this comes in at £65.91delivered to her, including the exchange rate guarantee. I think this is as good as I have seen so far.

      1. The Rough Trade ebay store was selling it for £60 a couple of months ago, plus an extra £5 off with a coupon. Didn’t last long though.

  13. Anyone else’s Robert Palmer order just get summarily cancelled? (I am in the US, I placed at it at Amazon US, and there were copies listed as available when I placed it, which was a couple of hours after SDE email notification arrived in my inbox). Disappointed.
[But thanks for the alert, nonetheless, Paul!]

    1. I ordered mine on AMZ US but from a third party seller. AMZ didn’t have them (or not at a similar price) when I ordered mine late in the day after the alert here. There were a couple of 3rd party sellers with them at a similar price including getimportCDs.

    2. I went to check on delivery status this morning only to see that it appears like I never ordered it :(

I’ve had my eye on that set for a while, checking everyday diligently. So disappointed. It almost appears like they’re out of stock and you can only buy from the Global Store. I noticed the same thing with the Beach Boys “Sail On Sailor” SDE. Amazon playing games.

Still waiting for a price drop on the Beatles “Revolver” stateside too.

    3. Mine arrived no issues. To be fair to Amazon, it shows they themselves don’t have any more stock. There are third parties who still sell it. Initially they matched Amazon’s sale price and now they are “back to normal”.

  14. Excellent price for Elton John Madman 50th SDE in rarewaves and also in amazon UK and DE (through seller: rarewaves actually..).
Madman Across The Water — Rarewaves.com
Actually just went in sold-out status few minutes after my order was completed. I need to see if they will send the order.
By the way, i ordered from Greece so hopefully there will be no additional taxation/charges due to UK -> EU shipping, as promised in their site and confirmed by some good fellows here with previous experience ordering from rarewaves.

    1. Rarewaves have such a bad website. The description for this set has a write up about George Thorogood and The Destroyers. I bought a Stones CD once that was advertised as an SACD but wasn’t. It’s a shame as their pricing is quite good and is sometimes cheaper than Amazon.

        1. I don’t have any problem navigating RareWaves. The only issue I have is the waiting time for deliveries. However new releases often arrive within days of release.

          1. Exactly. A blind person could find the new release section but, l find their architecture makes getting in and having a serious rummage unrewarding.

        2. Not sure what the problem is? I’ve been using rarewaves more recently and found it easy enough, just using the Search.
Amazon UK seems to be not so great these days and I find myself looking around other sites more. Rarewaves has been one of those sites. The fact that you get points for each purchase which eventually gives you money off is a decent perk.

      1. I bought from that seller on Monday and it came by Wednesday/Thursday, sealed in the original shipping box. I applied for the replacement blu-ray from Universal when I ordered, using a screen shot of my ebay order screen, and the replacement disc came the same day as the box set. Very happy

    2. Now (Saturday 12.8 16:25 CET, the cd box set is again available, with the same low price. Also the description is now corrected ;) (the power of SDE!).
Still my order of 2 days ago remains in status “unfulfilled” though.

  15. When I look at the Robert Palmer box set on Amazon US, I don’t see a buy option.
    Am I missing something?
I’ve never bought anything out with Amazon UK before.

  16. Robert Palmer Island Records Years 9cd now only $51 on Amazon.com. Also Elton John Madman Across The Water 3cd/BluRay $38! Giveaway prices.

  17. Wednesday, August 9, 2023 / 4:55 p.m. Eastern Time (North America): Robert Palmer / “Island Record Years” / 9CD boxset = $98.77 Canadian at amazon Canada. Wow.

  18. It’s not been widely advertised, but OMD are reissuing English Electric on red vinyl and The History of Modern on white vinyl at the end of this month/beginning of September via the OMD store

    1. That was my first thought when seeing this. Would be a fantastic price. Shame it’s not the full track list of the Knebworth gigs, maybe they should have released both days and video of both too. Oh well 20 yr anniversary SDE.

  19. Neil Young – Harvest 50th Anniversary Edition 3 CD + 2 DVD is CAD 34.98 (~20.44 GBP) on Amazon Canada as of today Aug 8 2023 – supposedly 46% off regular price.

      1. God! I hope so Rainbow jb. I’ve an order coming from the states, it was one of those late-at-night-and-fairly-drunk purchases and l didn’t think to check.

  20. The New Complete Fun Boy Three set available on Amazon US, for $37.19. Once again cheaper than what I paid for on pre-release. Seems like it’s not worth the time to preorder these days.

    1. In case anyone picks this up and requires the replacement Blu-ray disc, I emailed [email protected] last week (with proof of purchase + my address & phone #) and received the replacement disc next day (!) so this is still being honoured.

      1. Please don’t shoot the messenger. HMV had previously “sold out” of it at that price, but now appear to have more stock. It was considerably more expensive previously on Amazon. Amazon are probably price matching, but then remove the “deal” whenever HMV are out of their pre-order allocation. Amazon UK’s price has being yoyo-ing. I was merely making SDE readers aware in case they wished to “lock in” at the £230 price. Paul updated the deal price on his posting when I posted. I obviously hope it goes lower, as I agree circa £20 per disc is way too expensive. We’re all just trying to help each other get things we want for the best price. There’s always a tricky call about whether things will drop before they sell out. Maybe less risky with The Who, but those Lifehouse Demos have been out of print for about 20 years, so who knows?

        1. Indeed, don’t shoot the messenger. We need anyone that spots anything of interest to post it. They won’t appeal to everyone and may not necessarily be the cheapest deal, but far better than having no notification. These posts are a major attraction and have cost me/saved me a fortune. Thank you everyone who bothers to post these.

  21. Looking at comments below about the Beach Boys cd box set, led to me rechecking the review on SDE to see the price matrix. https://superdeluxeedition.com/reviews/the-beach-boys-sail-on-sailor-1972/

Currently Fnac has the 5 LP edition at €53.50, plus delivery to the UK at €4.10. All in it’s about £50. For some reason paying with a card kept cancelling my order, so I switched to paypal and the transaction went through fine.

    https://www.fnac.com/a17401941/The-Beach-Boys-Sail-On-Sailor-1972-Edition-Limitee-Coffret-Super-Deluxe-Vinyle-album

      1. There is a shipping option to UK. If you use the translate to English option on your browser and log in/ create an account, then you should see it.
Not that I’m encouraging you. Personally, I’ve used FNAC twice and neither were good experiences, so I’m reluctantly passing on this. First time, goods were delivered ok but they simply took payment twice from my card. I got a refund in the end but it wasn’t quick and some messing around with French translation on emails. Second time, the parcel got damaged and was returned to them. They issued a refund promptly. but only for one of the items and I bought two copies. Again I eventually got the money back but several months later

        1. Mmm not good Simon, i’ve had that type of experience previously with another European company, i think i’ll give this one a miss.

      2. I’ve had an account for some time with my UK address – I can’t remember the last time I used it. When I tried to purchase this, it kept cancelling the order when trying to pay with a card. First time I tried with Paypal it went through first time. I’ve checked my order status and it is in preparation, so hopefully it will turn up soon.

        Good luck!

  22. Anyone received their Wilco Cruel Country Vinyl from Amazon UK yet? Mine says to be delivered today, but they’ve not charged my card yet or sent it. Last time this sort of thing happened, they simply cancelled the item from my order without explanation. Seems they are getting quite bad at fulfilment. It’s a major release, released today and in stock at many other suppliers. I obviously bought from Amazon as £17.50 bargain, but I wonder what they are doing with this policy? Even the more regularly priced version they had the other day has disappeared from sale, all just 3rd party now. Very annoying as it looks like you can’t rely on them to fulfil in some cases and if it’s limited, you can think you’re sorted and then lose out. They chose to discount it before release, not us! Japan – Exorcising Ghosts Vinyl springs to mind as similar, albeit more heavily discounted.

    1. Mine was dispatched on August 4….expected delivery August 13! Then again the courier for some reason is DPD so that could be August 13, 2025! I sold a heavy LP box set to a guy in New York a couple of weeks ago and he received it and I’m not joking here, within 2 (TWO) days sent from the UK. DPD are taking 9 feckin’ days to deliver a package from a UK address to a UK address.

  23. The Germans do it again….

Saturn and MediaMarkt a running their 3 for 2 promotion again from today to 6.8.2023…

Just select 3 music or film items and see the discount at the checkout. SDE’s included…

I am afraid they only ship to Germany….

  24. This year’s Zappa Mudd Club/Munich 1980 set is now £25 on Amazon UK, down from £30 at release. Still pricey given the sound quality, but still.

  25. Not sure if this has been the price for a while, but John Mayall’s The First Generation 1965-1974 35 CD box set is £175 on Burning Shed and Amazon UK. Burning Shed say that there’s has the signed photo.

    1. Vinylhead/Snapper Music (the seller on Amazon) is Burning Shed. And don’t forget there’s a replacement programme – hopefully still running – for CD20 Thru the Years being operated by Snapper Music (although it is listed as it is supposed to be as “Suspicious (Part I)” on the cover, on CD and inside the book , it is actually “Gasoline Blues”). Try emailing [email protected]. I got a copy in a couple of days. They also have a shop at Norwich on the Ipswich Road where you can roll up if you phone in advance – very helpful.

      1. Hell’s teeth!! I bought this set late last year for £175 (great bargain) but have not listened to all of it yet, (There’s a lot in there) so did not know about this error. Hope I can get a replacement disc.
How on earth does a track from a 1974 album end up on a 1971 release?

  26. Someone at Amazon US must have seriously over ordered from the Neil Young catalogue. .Harvest SDE $68:15. Noise and Flowers box 33:49, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion $12:98, ORS 22-25 $157:46, somewhere under the rainbow $18:32, Barn box $20:27. All vinyl, all US dollars. (and in my case all ordered )

  27. Some really good deals on Amazon US at the moment:
Madonna Finally Enough Love 2LP vinyl $19
Cat Stevens Catch Bull at Four LP $17.71
Roxy Music Manifesto half speed LP $17.44
David Bowie Toy Box 10” vinyl $37
    Associates Sulk 40th Anniversary vinyl/cd box $21
    Beatles Revolver vinyl box $113
Neil Young Harvest vinyl box $68
Beach Boys Sail On Sailor cd box $93
    Humble Pie cd box $63

      1. You’re welcome! Yes, I understand. We all have our points where these boxes become a good value for us. The Beatles box dipped even lower yesterday to $104 and I decided that was a fair enough price. Take care.

        1. I too am waiting for Revolver and Sail on Sailor to drop, but sadly I am in the UK. Revolver is down to £76, but still quite a lot for what you get.

Not a lot happening on the deal front here.

          1. I agree. Even $104 is a bit high for 4 Albums. I couldn’t wait. I bet it will decrease even more by Christmas. In the UK also.

    1. That associates box is a steal. at this give away price l hope many more of our colonial cousins will be introduced to the magnificence of Billy Mackenzie, and that other guy.

      1. That’s so true! I bought the Associates earlier this year at about $35, now I feel like I should buy an extra one—just in case…
Billy MacKenzie had such an incredible voice, and his work with Alan Rankine was some of his best. I recall being so saddened when in 1997 I read in the NME that BM had committed suicide. Alan Rankine’s recent passing was also a loss. Too soon.

      2. Good podcast featuring “that other guy” on Martyn Ware’s Electronically Yours Ep56.
The “Billy at the Miners Welfare Club” anecdote is my favourite!

      1. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that a single one of the many comments about Who’s Next being £230 on HMV got approved looking down the thread except for flyingv’s second posting and it’s now “sold out” at that price.

  28. The Who – Who’s Next SDE was briefly £234.61 yesterday on Amazon UK. I posted a comment about it, but it didn’t get approved. Obviously those that had pre-ordered before will get that low price if their order was already in before yesterday.

      1. Hi Quante:

You are welcome. It is not the first time that I see strange delivery dates on Amazon, and shortly after the shipment is made in a few days.

I was also surprised by a date 6 months away, but I see that the shipping tracking is progressing and I would not be surprised if it is sent tomorrow.

However, I will comment on it here.

        Kind Regards.

  29. The John Lennon hardback Imagine book by Yoko is just £10.99 on Amazon UK atm, btw, if any of the SDE gang are in Dublin this summer, check out this fabulous store, great prices and great store, with the lethal combination of some lovely bars and pubs nearby

    https://spindizzyrecords.com

    1. I can confirm Spindizzy is a fine record store in Dublin (I buy online from them fairly frequently) and is dangerously close to some fine hostelries.

    1. Thanks, I grabbed the last one, I think, LOL
Then again, maybe not. I was able to go back in and order another single one, so, we will see if I get these. Thanks again!

  30. Few more on Amazon US SDEs (as of 30th July):

Blonde – Against All Odds 10 LP box is 42% off
Guns and Roses – Appetite For Destruction is 56% off
Rolling Stones – Singles 1963-1966 7″ box set is 53% off
The Who – Sell Out is 48% off
Keith Richards – Main Offender is 69% off, Live At The Hollywood Palladium is 53% off and Talk Is Cheap is 41% off
Chuck Berry – The Great Twenty Eight vinyl box is 60% off.
Cat Stevens – Tea For The Tillerman is 48% off, Teaser And The Firecat is 60% off and Mona Bone Jakon is 44% off

  31. SDE bargains for the US folks….

Rush’s Moving Pictures super deluxe, the one with the model car and the drum sticks etc, is half price at the moment over at Amazon US.

The Scarecrow SDE by John Mellencamp is $70 (which is 53% off), Stage Fright by The Band is still 54% off and their Cahoots box is 64% off. Nevermind 30th Anniversary CD box is under $60 and the Goat’s Head Soup SDE is more than half off.

Also the Beatles Revolver box sets are lower than normal 38% off the vinyl and 29% off the CD version.

  32. The Wedding Present – Seamonsters 2LP + CD is 13,50€ on Amazon ES
Also on Amazon ES: Prefab Sprout Steve McQueen picture disc is 11,50 €

    1. Thanks Val!

Have ordered the Weddoes, at that price it was an easy decision . Never bought from Amazon ES before so will see what happens. Cheers.

  33. Rough Trade UK have another sale on and the fabulous George Harrison All Things Must Pass 6CD box set is back to £45 (and currently in stock)

Couple of other bits and pieces in the sale worth looking at too if you can find your way around the ludicrous navigation.

  34. HMV have a 2 for £16 deal on some recent release CDs – Metallica, Paul Simon, Def Leppard, Lana Del Ray and the most recent Tubular Bells reissue in there.

    1. FOPP (at least in Cambridge) have some of those “unbundled” for £8 each; Sparks, Paul Simon and Self Esteem were the 3 I noticed. They also had Bobby Gentry’s two CD “The Delta Sweete” for £9.

  35. Couple more Rarewaves bargains

The new Stax Songwriter Demos box set is £68
The 26 disc King Crimson 1969 is back to £73
    Dylan’s 36 disc 1966 Recordings is £59
Dylan’s 5CD Springtime In New York box is £55
Complete Fun Boy Three CD box is £33 on pre-order (Amazon UK has it at £40)

    1. Also interesting for non UK-citizens at rarewaves is the recent ‘Quartet’ SDE by Ultravox for 63€ which is a substantial saving compared to the price on several southern European Amazon sites (France, Italy, Spain).

  36. (None of these are SDEs (or even DEs) but they are deals relevant to discussions on this site.)
    Over on rarewaves.com in the 3 UKP/US $3.99 bin:

    1. Very infereating, thanks.
I read in their site that rarewaves send to the EU with VAT included in price charged i.e. no additional charges when receiving in an EU country.
Also they have very low shipping costs vs what I see in Amazon UK. So, it looks a very interesting site to buy physical media from the UK.
Has anyone living in an EU country ordered from rarewaves and can confirm that there are no extra charges vs what paid at ordering?
Also what is the overall experience with them?
      Thank you .

    2. Thanks Ex-Oligarch. £2.98 for the ZTT set, with free shipping, is a real bargain. Lots on there outside of the big names (Frankie, Propaganda, Art of Noise) that I haven’t heard, so looking forward to hearing it.

  37. Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry King Scratch (Musical Masterpieces from the Upsetter Ark-ive) – 4 LP + 4 CD and Book Box Set is £50 HMV (it was also this price on Amazon but it looks to be sold out at the moment)

    https://hmv.com/store/music/cd/king-scratch-deluxe-box-set

The Cranberries Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We? 4 CD box set (like the Tears for fears box sets) is £11 on Rarewaves

  38. The first LP from Suede recently released 30th Anniversary Edition (Half-Speed Master Edition) on Amazon.uk only € 23,17. Was € 34,74

  39. The 15CD Ocean Colour Scene – Yesterday Today 1992-2018 box is down to £85 on Amazon UK – super value if you don’t have much of their stuff already. Nothing much unreleased in there and if you have their studio albums and various Anthology / B-Sides albums you won’t really need it but it’s a top notch box set nevertheless.

  40. Very good prices on the following box sets in Amazon.com:
Live Evil, Black Sabbath: ~35 EUR Black Sabbath – Live Evil (40th Anniversary Super Deluxe) – Amazon.com Music
Sorry Ma, Forgot To Take Out The Trash, The Replacements: ~30 EUR Amazon.com: Sorry Ma, Forgot To Take Out The Trash (Deluxe Edition): CDs & Vinyl
The additional fees (import fees, taxation) are quite high but overall i bought them for around 110 EUR last week (at that moment the Black Sabbath set had a small Prime Deals discount) including shipping, which is a good price.

  41. Big Country´s 3LP live set Without the Aid of a Safety Net is below 15 GBP on the UK Amazon site. Lowest price I have seen, fantastic album.

  42. Enya – Box of Deams Vinyl is down to £133, which is better than the launch price but at the end of the day it’s still £43 per double album and over-priced. I want this but won’t crack his side of £100 and even then I’d think twice.

    https://amzn.to/3rqPTdY

  43. The first two 8CD/12″ volumes of the Philadelphia International Records box sets (Get On Board The Soul Train and Satisfaction Guaranteed) are back down to a really great price on Amazon UK. Both are £39.99.

  44. Tuesday, July 11, 2023… Amazon Canada… David Bowie / “Divine Symmetry”… 50 per cent off… down to $92.55 Canadian for Prime members.

        1. To be frank, real bargains, the type which could be guaranteed to come and be worthwhile, seem to have all but dried up. It’s been said before but I long for the days of 2017 / 2018 and the am.de 3 for 2 where there were releases that were worth buying at decent prices. The memory of things like the Bowie Five Years Vinyl set being under £100 on am.it seems distant and unreal.

  45. Prime Day proving to be as useless as ever for music deals…

However, some non-prime day stuff on Amazon UK if you’re interested.

The 4CD Tom Petty Live At Fillmore 1997 set is down to £44.99 (I think this one is still a teeny bit overpriced considering the packaging and presentation is a bit basic but it’s about £15 off where it started)

The 3CD/DVD deluxe edition of Mansun frontman Paul Draper’s latest album (Cult Leader Tactics) is £29.99.

The CD/BR version of Pink Floyd’s Momentary Lapse Of Reason is £19.47

And the pick of the things I spotted was Bob Dylan’s 5CD super deluxe Springtime In New York box set is £63 (this is a really fantastic set)

    1. Very few deals in the UK of late and, as you say, there is very little of interest in Prime Day. The Dylan set is fantastic and the double vinyl album is £15.29.

  46. If you haven’t got them yet, there’s a 3rd party seller (dispatching from Amazon) shifting three of the Neil Young Bootleg Series CDs quite cheaply.

    Dorothy Chandler Pavillion – £4.58
    Royce Hall – £6.25
Citizen Kane Jr Blues – £6.24

  47. Just noticed the sale at Bending Sound records – Neil Young Toast £25, Aladdin Sane picture disc £20, Double clear vinyl of Neil Youngs World Record £20 – the IT Girl Sleeper special red vinyl with cd and signed picture – be quick things are going very quickly and good luck.

    1. That’s my local record shop though when I say local, I’m about 50 miles away. Highly recommended and great guys to deal with.

      1. Apologies but the picture is not signed! Thought it looked like it – remember seeing it on sound Of Vinyl for a stupid price – at least this is more reasonable.

  48. Cherry Red have had the multi-disc Mercury Rev deluxe editions heavily discounted for a while. There is now a further 20% off which takes them into well-why-wouldn’t-you territory if you have interest in them.

    1. It’s worth mentioning that the 20% is due to Cherry Red’s monthly discount being Indie related in July. A few interesting things in there including some of their Various collections. Worth a look if you like that sort of thing.

      1. Yes, good call. I’ve just ordered the 3 Mercury Rev sets and entered the discount code as well. This gives you the 20% July Indie discount on top of the sale price (despite it stating that the code cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer). These sets have been discounted for a while now; presumably an overstock situation. Still this is the best value I’ve seen of getting them together so far. Thanks.

        1. These sets are genuinely fantastic but a word of caution – there was a misprint of CD4 in some (not all) of the Secret Migration sets, so check that one as soon as you get it through the post. Cherry Red replace it really quickly, but better to sort it sooner rather than later.

          1. Yep, that happened to me and it was only through I think your posting about this issue though Cherry Red were great and sent me a replacement very quickly.

          2. Thanks for this deal – the 20% off code is LOVEINDIE20. I got two Earl Brutus vinyl LPs for £22 including postage, having already got the Mercury Rev sets in an earlier deal.
The more expensive Mercury Rev All Is Dream CD box set includes a very nice signed lyric sheet and lots of other goodies and is an excellent complete version of a fantastic album.

    1. Thanks for the heads up on this Former Scientist. Had been hoping it would drop below £30, so have now ordered. No real interest in the vinyl but this is a good price, shame they couldn’t find any demos or live material.

    2. Wow thanks, can’t resist that, even after paying not much less just for the blu-ray!

I’ll have to sell the blu-ray along with the 3-disc All Things Must Pass (which I settled for rather than pay over £100 for the super deluxe), which similarly became redundant when the SD dropped to under £50. When will I learn??

    3. Word of warning, there are pressing issues with the vinyl version. I will grant you that it can’t be with all of them but I had to send mine back for this very reason. Whilst I know vinyl and sometimes new vinyl can have a bit of surface noise this sounded like a 78 such was how poor a pressing it was. I sent mine back and bought the CD and blu ray separately because the content was the same on the separate blu ray as the dvd in the box set and so I didn’t need it anyway and saved a bit of money doing it that way as well.

  49. The Ultravox – Quartet box dropped a few quid on Amazon UK. It is now £56. I had a get £5 off voucher if I use the Amazon app, so I did and got it for £51. Yay!

  50. George Michael’s Listen Without Prejudice Deluxe (3 CD 1 DVD) is available new from a number of sellers on EBay for around £7 plus postage.

    1. Cheers dude, the guy in question has multiple sales of this at different prices which with a bit of bartering via the “make an offer” option I got for £6.50 plus postage meaning it cost me a solid £10 in total! I already have the 2 CD version which has the unplugged gig as the second CD that I got very cheap a long time ago but this was a no brainer at that price. It meant I got it for £10 in total! Result!

    2. Thanks.

Even though the 2cd version I bought never got opened, I’ve gone for this as well.

I’ve watched most of the new Wham documentary and it’s highly enjoyable.

  51. The Shed Seven Maximum High 25th anniversary “bowling ball” coloured vinyl 3LP set is down to £17.50 on Townsend Music (so about £22 with postage). Nice set, that one.

    1. Another Amazon price reduction immediately after release day. Really doesn’t encourage pre-ordering from them. £20 reduction on this item. For anybody that pre-ordered, it’s worth considering returning the original & repurchasing.

        1. Amazon repeatedly do this to the point where I actively avoid pre orders with them and always look at others. Recently the Little Feat 3LP Dixie Chicken set was £64.99 on pre release then it dropped to £54.99 the day after release. Simplest way to make them pay is to re order and free return the first one. I managed to get the sets for £43.99 each on eBay…..pays to shop around.

  52. Assai are offering the 5CD + Blu-Ray of George Harrison’s “All Things Must Pass” for £39.99 and the 5LP set for £49.99 – seen a few decent prices for this recently but had to jump for the CD/Blu-Ray.

    1. Thanks to the power of SDE, it looks like all 12 copies that were left when I bought mine from Amazon directly have now gone and there are now just the third party copies for a similar price (plus £1.26 postage). I can’t vouch for the 3rd party seller. Maybe keep checking back for stock. I reckon there will be more of these as it was overpriced.

  53. There appears to be a number of the Blondie Against the odds black vinyl 4LP box sets coming up for sale on certain platforms, has anyone seen them cheap anywhere?

    1. This one is causing quite a debate on some Stones forums. Seems it was originally released on orange vinyl as a limited edition of 3000 back in 2020. Now it is being repressed. It’s listed as a “store exclusive” but doesn’t seem to be limited this time. Those that paid a premium first time around are somewhat aggrieved

      1. Nothing the Stones do is limited. I bough their initial colored vinyl editions when they were released. They sold out and 6 months later the market is flooded with them. Annoying, so I stopped buying them.

  54. I usually miss these deals, glad I didn’t miss this. I’ve been eyeing the Seal box since it was announced. My feelings were hurt when he canceled a show here and added another date in Canada instead. I had good seats and hadn’t seen him live before!

    Many thanks!

  55. The Green Day Nimrod (25th Anniversary) 5LP set is down to £96 on Amazon UK, which is £40 down on its release price in April.

  56. Thank you for the heads up.
I’m passing on SEAL until someone releases the comprehensive package that this deserved, with a physical Atmos mix or as a standalone ;)
