Jethro Tull / Aqualung 2CD+2DVD 2CD +2DVD deluxe

£30 was £51

Aqualung was the first Jethro Tull album remixed by Steven Wilson and was originally re-released as a 40th Anniversary package in 2011. This new edition was issued in 2016 but has been hard to get hold of for some time. The first CD contains the album mixed and mastered by Steven Wilson, CD 2 features additional 1970 and 1971 recordings (also mixed and mastered by Steven Wilson). The DVDs include Steven Wilson 5.1 mixes, hi-res stereo mixes, the 1974 quad mix and flat transfers of both Aqualung and the Life Is A Long Song EP (two of the EP’s tracks haven’t been available in this form previously).

  1. Few bits and pieces on Amazon UK

The 6LP Produced By Tony Visconti (Limited Signed Edition) box set is down to £78.50
Thin Lizzy Live & Dangerous 8CD is £59
The 14CD Billy Bragg Roaring Forty box is £95

  2. Ordered the Tom Petty Fillmore CD set though Amazon/Global Deals for £25.99 & it arrived today with a nice big £64.99 HMV price sticker on it so not sure if they’re re-selling HMV returns or old stock that HMV is offloading.

    1. Yes, been that way for a while – every now and again they seem to locate a bunch of HMV stock and shift it very cheaply (I got the Flaming Lips Yoshimi box from them for about £20 about 3 months ago)

    2. Probably the latter. I got the double reissue of The Monkees’ first album at my local shop for £30 a wee while back, £55 FOPP price sticker on the back

  3. Nirvanas In Utero 30th CD boxset has just dropped to £149.99 on Amazon UK – still too rich for my blood for what’s on offer, but it’s the lowest I’ve seen it so far.

    1. I’d love this, they had a few copies at Banbury HMV in the summer, it does look great, I think £80 would make me bite, but it didn’t seem to be that high end that I’d pay £150, maybe I’m a tight wad lol

  4. Before the utterly fabulous Amazon France Who’s Next deal there was the still pretty fabulous iMusic Denmark deal. My perfect well protected copy arrived today, so thanks to the eagle eyed person who posted its availability here.

  5. Camel back up to £181. Bloody glad I bought it when I did from HMV’s ebay for £169.99 Utterly fantastic set and wonderfully packaged by HMV.

    1. Given how many people have missed those Tull box sets, I think it would be really good if Paul could highlight these new reissues/reprints (Aqualung, Minstrel in the Gallery and Songs from the Wood, to be precise) in an extra article. So far, the news seems to have mostly spread under the radar.

  6. For the Canadian Prince fans holding out for a deal on the Diamonds and Pearls 7CD+blu-ray box, amazon.ca currently have it for CDN 108 (GBP 63 but they don’t ship to the UK)

    1. On a related note: The SDE by German company Turbine Medien for the film ‘Sign O’ The Times” originally released a few years ago and in all its glory (12×12′ box, 2 blu-ray and 2 dvd including lots of bonus features and also some ‘stuff’ in the box, but sadly no marbles ;-) ) quickly out of print is now available again.

Either directly from Turbine Medien or via this link also from jpc.de:

      https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/movie/detail/-/art/prince-sign-o-the-times/hnum/11614470?lang=en

60€ plus shipping if you’re outside of Germany but i’m quite certain that some Prince afficionados are waiting to add this to their collection who missed out first time round…

  7. The Who’s Next box set is fantastic. Mine arrived in great condition plus as an unexpected bonus, I’ve got an email from Amazon France saying that because it was “delivered late”, they’re refunding the delivery cost. Which makes it even more of a you-know-what.

    1. Ah, that explains the email I got from Amazon Fr which I thought was just an encouragement to sign up to some scheme of other and didn’t bother translating when in fact it’s 10 euros off next purchase.

  8. Re Who’s Next SDE from Amazon Fr.
I placed an order a week ago and delivery was not expected until late Jan/early Feb next year. Didn’t mind the wait as the price was so good.
They must have received stock early as I just received notification that my order has shipped with delivery to Oz expected by 18 Dec. Happy days!

    1. I ordered it on the 23rd November and received notification that mine has been shipped today with delivery set for the 8th December (I am a bit closer than you in Perth Roel). Happy Days indeed.

      1. My box set arrived a couple of days later than scheduled. I got an e-mail today from Am Fr to refund my postage costs. I’ve never had that before on late deliveries.

  9. Not a huge drop , but the Amazon pre-order price guarantee strikes again – Peter Gabriel’s 3 disc version of i/o which was £21.99 drops to £18 on the day of release. As it’s no longer a ‘pre-order’ so technically the price guarantee no longer strictly applies i’m not sure if Amazon still automatically refund the difference or a message to customer service is needed for anyone who pre-ordered.

    1. I understood the Price Promise included the day of release? From the Ts&Cs:

“If the price of the item drops below the price you were charged between the date of dispatch and the end of the day of the release date, we’ll automatically refund the difference”

      1. Thanks Gee TeeUK. I copied and pasted the Ts & Cs in your post and used it with Amazon when they at first refused to refund the difference. I’ve now got a £4 credit. It’s not a lot to lose out on, but it is annoying.

    2. Delivered via Royal Mail from Amazon today, completely flattened, spine creased. The New Order effect again. Getting really bored with returning CDs in card sleeves due to damage. Bring back decent cd cases that are fit for purpose please

  10. The triple coloured (silver and black marble) vinyl edition of Iron Maiden’s last release, Senjitsu, is available on Amazon UK for just £26.19.

    1. I paid twice that and change when it was first released, then shelled out for the two CD media book version because l just couldn’t be arsed changing the record every other song, and on the last three sides every-single-bloody-song. Maybe not quite as good as “the book of souls” but still, highly recommended, especially for the more physically able amongst us.

  11. Just a quick one, the wife wanted Tom Jones The Complete Decca Studio Albums from a few years back its on Amazon uk for £60 to save me rooting all over the interweb looking for a better price i checked back on the SDE site and found it on Amazon Italy for £40 delivered Its great you leave previous posts up and prices are still live its always worth checkin back if you missed something, many thanks Paul https://amzn.to/414cNpt

    1. Snap. Mine was exactly the same. Some of the shrinkwrap around the corners was ripped as well, which makes me think that it was probably a bit bashed before it was dispatched.

  12. Aqualung 40th anniversary edition £24.82
Songs From The Wood 40th anniversary edition £38.72
    I just checked Discogs….
Aqualung 40th anniversary edition cheapest price including postage…£169!!!!
Songs From The Wood cheapest price including postage…..£231.71!!!!!
Are these the bargain buys of 2023 or am I missing something here????

    1. Thanks for the songs from the wood box alert. I’ve ordered it. Out of curiosity I looked on eBay, there was a used copy of it for the bargain price of it for 253 quid. Crazy prices for this box set.

  13. Can that be true of the Jethro Tull box sets Songs from the Wood and Aqualung??? I havent seen any notice of re-pressings and also notice that Minstrel in the Gallery 40th La Grande edition is available for £45!!!!

  14. This morning I received a 20% Christmas discount from jpc.de and I took advantage of it to buy the super deluxe edition of Norah Jones of 4 LPs for €99.99, same price on Amazon Germany. So I paid €80. I already have my Christmas gift. :)

P.S.: a little advice: check your spam folder just in case.

    1. You have to describe to the newsletter first. And yes, you get that discount mail in the spam box. Bought myself the last available Starless box from King Crimson from €139,- for €111

  15. Amazon AU are still continuing with their Black Friday deals. Some of the deals are:
    Joni Mitchell Archives Vol 3 – AUD64 (about GBP34)
Bowie – Ziggy Stardust OST 2CD+Blu-ray AUD 24 (GBP 13)
Neil Young – Official Release Series Vol 5 AUD57 (GBP 29)
    Neil Young Harvest 50th – AUD57 (GBP29)
Beatles Revolver SDE CD AUD$112 (GBP58)

    and NOT A DEAL alert:
Beatles Now & Then 7″ black vinyl AUD $52 and CD single AUD $31 – Unbelievable!!!

    1. Congratulations to all fellow readers down under on the prize of the latest Joni Mitchell box.
Gives me hope that we in the EU will be treated in a similar way with this in the future…

  16. So my Who big box arrived safe and sound this evening from amazon France – absolutely perfect no issues – great deal – thanks to whoever spotted that one

  17. The Sound of Vinyl US also has Abba, Beach Boys and the Stones Tattoo You box sets for less than $100.00 if anyone needs to pick these up.

  18. The Beach Boys Sail on Sailor 6CD deal that eamonn mooney mentioned earlier is still on at imusic.dk (there’s a drop down country menu on the home page). Mine shipped earlier today; £39.50 including postage.

  19. Most of the black friday deals now over but I noticed that the Beach Boys Sail On Sailor 5LP vinyl box is down to £62 on Amazon UK which seems decent.

  20. Not sure if it is a real good deal, but amazon France has the McCartney I, II, III vynil and cd boxes at – 45%,which amounts to 67€ for the vinyl box

    1. Sadly mine came in some of the flimsiest packaging I’ve seen in a long time, even by Amazon’s standards:(
They offered me a 20% discount. Never ceases to amaze me how much they could save by just using better packaging vs what they end up discounting!

  21. Just received “WHO’S NEXT ? / LIFEHOUSE” box from Amazon France. It arrived damaged and Amazon will only give a refund and not exchange it. Wonder if this “bargain” was a way of offloading returns?

    1. That’s worrying. With the refund, did you get to keep the damaged goods or have to return it, and at whose expense?
I ask because mine is due on Wednesday.

    2. Seems to be the way if you order from Amazon EU, refund rather than exchange. I’ve had this a couple of times. Also just received Who’s next from Amazon.De & one of the LPs is marked, not audible but for £60 not good enough. Although after listening to the LPs I’m rather glad I’m returning them. The LP proper sounds flat & lifeless & the live LPs sound no better than a good FM recording IMO. Great performance though. Price would have to come down a bit to justify re-ordering it.

    3. Amazon sometimes has a bad habit of removing the protective outer box that was originally packed at the factory, which encased the actual box. Instead, they replace it with their own less protective box

    4. Today I got mine and it was indeed double boxed as inside Amazon large box there was the manufacture’s cardboard box with even the attached plastic envelope with Universal’s invoice and shipping address to Amazon France.
However, this box was a bit smashed on one corner so, though it was not my intention to unwrapped it till Xmas, I decided to check it and also to check the book just in case.
Inside the manufacturer’s box there is another thick foam box containing the item itself but unfortunately one of the corners of the boxset was a a bit smashed (the right bottom corner on the back), even smashing a bit the graphic novel on the front left corner.
Moreover, the bloody big pin with the sharp point has even marked the back of the book itself because it even pierced through the memorabilia envelope, and on top of that the memorabilia folder is torn in the middle of its spine and I had to put it back in the boxset upside down so now it can’t be seen.
In summary, I have never received a so well packed item with so much issues, yes, little ones, but issues nevertheless.
By the way, the book has all its pages.

    5. That sounds like really bad luck. These things can be real potluck sometimes – mine arrived fine, but I’ve had stuff in the past from Europe with a ding or two. I’ve started paying for the fastest delivery option as a result as they often end up dispatching from a uk warehouse which reduces the number of hands and trucks it passes through.

      1. The outer box was damaged but the inner foam lined box was fine. The actual 10cd outer box was mint but the inner box containing the memorabilia was badly damaged. This damage was visible whilst the cellophane wrapping was still on. After much discussion Amazon have refunded me 25 euro which helps alleviate the disappointment. Cant blame the delivery people but the damage was obvious to anyone checking the box at quality control. Some you win……

    6. Sorry to hear this. Mine was very well packaged, so probably bad luck.
Amazon.fr sold out of this set over the weekend – only third party sellers on the site now – so I guess no option but to refund when that is the case.
I am curious though – did they ask you to return the damaged item or did you get to keep it?

      1. I got to keep the boxed set but they did want me to return it before I negotiated a discount. Looking at the damage it must have been done when the items were originally packed at source. Cant really blame Amazon or the delivery people as the boxed set itself is undamaged, its just the contents.

    7. Sorry to hear that, Kenny. Mine arrived from Amazon France, at the weekend, and I would say without hesitation, that it was one of the best packaged boxes I’ve ever recieved. The big Amazon outer box contained the manufacturer’s box; which contained the box set itself packed in customised tight fitting plastic foam. The box was in mint condition. It would be hard to see how it could have been damaged unless it was really badly treated. Keeping it sealed for Christmas, so hopefully contents are fine.
By contrast, a paperback book from Amazon UK turned up today in a damaged paper bag, and was creased and dented. Returned it for a refund and ordered it elsewhere. It’s as if they don’t give a toss.

    8. Got my “Who’s Next” boxset from amazon France : although the carton package was a little damage, the foam that protects the content did it’s job : mint condition for the boxset.
First time i see this king of foam , i wish it will be used in more delivery.

  22. Top up Amazon account with £60 or more to earn additional £5; Not a massive saving but worth having nevertheless. Meant I got PSB 3CD / 2 blu-ray for £26…happy even though just found out the booklet commentary had been used in previous deluxe releases.

  23. Cat Stevens’ Teaser and The Firecat SDE (the 5 disc set without the LPs) on Rarewaves UK for GBP 35 in addition to their Black Friday 10% off everything. So it comes down to GBP 31.50.
Also noticed Cat Steven’s Catch Bull at Four 50th Anniversary LP for GBP 12 less 10%
    10% off deal finishes today

  24. The Beatles Box Set of Blue & Red LPs is only £120 (& free shipping) at Rough Trade store on Ebay UK using the code BUYBETTER20. If you aren’t bothered about the box, you can buy each set individually for only £55 each (&free shipping) with the same code.

    1. Delivered end of january. It means they don’t have it in stock. So they take your money for at least 2 months and in the end they’ll cancel. Happened to me on serveral occasions.

          1. I think the situation is that if you are in UK and you order from AmazonUK, then payment shouldnt be taken until shipping.
If however, you order from Amazon EU (via the UK site), or Amazon.com or Amazon Germany or France etc, then payment is taken immediately

          2. Not true.

I’ve had Amazon UK take money for some orders immediately but 95% of the time only when the item is dispatched.

            I’ve rarely, if ever had payment taken immediately with any of the Amazons in the EU. I use the Amazons in the EU quite a lot;

          3. Maybe down to whether the item is a third party seller or not…

Note: If you place an order for an item sold by Amazon with a credit card, we won’t charge you until the order enters the shipping process. If you place an order from one of our third-party sellers, the seller may charge your card at the time of purchase.

    1. I’m almost hoping that it is for now.
I spent more than I anticipated last week but got some serious reductions in the process.

I was under siege this morning from emails enticing me to purchase Black Friday RSD products. I took a look at the limited range and found it all highly predictable and uninspiring. There always seems to be – an expensive live Doors set, an expensive live Grateful Dead set, a not too essential Prince offering, an unnecessary coloured vinyl from U2, a collection of The Sweet outtakes, and an obligatory Steven Wilson mixed Ultravox release.
I fully appreciate all artists and record companies that support the cause for physical product, but it would be nice if some others joined in…..

      1. I thought black Friday RSD was incredibly disappointing in it’s offerings. I spent nearly £400 back in April at the main RSD and it would have been double that if I had, had the funds. Yesterday I spent absolutely nothing.

  25. There’s a UK 20% eBay discount BUYBETTER20 , I got the RSD The Doors Live from Bakersfield from Rough Trade , double coloured vinyl & double cd for £48 all in

  26. The Dutch site platenzaak.nl has some good offers (many Rolling Stones items among others) and the Beach Boys sail on sailor cd box is €38.99….

  27. Just purchased new Level 42 box set Later Years 1991-1998 on deep discount.com. here in US. Total all in $37.64
use promo code gobble for 15% off, plus free shipping also. Offer expires on Saturday.

  28. I posted the the rarewaves uk offer of Bob Dylan’s 5cd springtime box on here earlier in the month. I received the box about a week later brand new and sealed.

  29. Via Amazon Canada: Blondie’s “Against The Odds – 1974-1982 (8CD)” is a Black Friday 38 per cent off and is now $101.99 Canadian. Only three left in stock as of November 23, 2023 at 1:59 P.M. east coast North America time.

  30. It is interesting how different, and stereotypical, foreign sites are. Having just bought the Who box from France and the Beach Boys from Germany, the difference is amazing. The French are famous for protecting their language and everything from and on French Amazon is in French, but click on English for Amazon De and everything, including emails, updates etc. is automatically in English. I do speak French so not a problem but I do find the difference of outlook interesting .

    1. No idea if replies are posted faster than comments but at platenzaak.nl is the BB Sail on Sailor cd box today €38.99 (among other interesting sales).

  31. The 9 LP Neil Young Official Release Series 22,23,24 &25 is £92 on Amazon Germany plus £5 postage.
Also on the site, Rolling Stones in Mono coloured LP box set is £235 plus a tenner postage, 25 percent off usual German price of £313.
    Oh, and Who’s Next / Lifehouse 4LP set £43 plus £5 postage

    1. I’m a big Neil Young fan and I normally get everything on both CD & LP but I drew the line at this release. If it drops below £50 I may be interested.

      1. I meant for that to go under The1Rover’s post re: Harvest 50th vinyl/DVD. The Am. De. deal for 22,34,24,&25 ORS is a bargain. 9 LPs for £92 and people moan about the price of Shakey’s releases. Blame the retailer because Am. De. are still making a profit selling it for £92. By the way this a tremendous set, highly recommended.

    1. Many thanks for the tip Deguello1. Metallica box arrived to me today in UK with free expedited shipping from FNAC. Well packaged (box within box) and in mint condition. Very happy!

  32. I ordered Who’s Next from Amazon.fr and then promptly cancelled it – the estimate of it being delivered on January 29 was a no-no. I got it from imusic now, they’re just 8€ more expensive and promised to deliver it until mid-December.

    1. Just make sure you’re comfortable with their returns policy.
I read that returns have to be sent to their Denmark address at your own expense, and it’s a big box to send back!

      1. This is true, as I found out to my cost last year. As a result I have two copies of the Let It Be box. It worked out cheaper to keep the second one, rather than pay the hefty courier fee to send it back. Amazon.fr won’t pay for the return.

    1. I got my next day delivery. I don’t expect it was posted from France. There was no sign on the tracking saying it had departed a warehouse in Europe. Arrived at Weybridge is all it said.

  33. Bravo to Pierre for The Who deal. One of the all-timers, that one.

Mine was delivered earlier this evening (ordered 11pm yesterday from France, actually delivered from the Amazon warehouse about an hour from my house here in the uk)

  34. There’s a small deal on Bob Dylan’s Complete Budokan boxset. It’s currently available for 138 $ on amazon.com. It’s even cheaper on Importcds, it’s “only” 108 $. But they don’t ship to Europe, apparently.

  35. The who deal looks superb it’s a shame that chrome doesn’t translate French anymore unless I’m doing anything wrong but it doesn’t seem to work now ?, any help

    1. I found the translate part up at the top doesn’t always come up, but if you’re on the web page and right click, “translate to English” comes up among the options.

      1. Tried to do this on iPhone but doesn’t appear to work as defaults to the app based option, I’d like to be able to do this as it’s showing 1 purchase and it’s showing three pending payments for the same amount in my back account. Oh the joys of trying to get a bargain!.

        1. I’ve figure it out where I’m going wrong here , if you have the application on your iPhone and you try to open this is the chrome browser it defaults back to the application so you cannot get an English translation. Close the app down or remove it temporarily and it works on the chrome app on the phone. Maybe helpful to others who are finding this a pain in the posterior. To translate pages which don’t automatically do this you click the three dots at the bottom and it’s there to translate. I’m getting on a bit so it’s small potatoes probably to the younger SDE fans.

          1. I had some problems translating in the past so I wanted to give you a heads up to make sure you did not accidentally get a free month of Amazon prime, you will get a separate mail for that if did, but it’s a waste of money if you get charged the next month

          2. They told me there had been a glitch on the system and it looks like I’ve been charged 4 times on my bank app, but they said rest assured you won’t get charged I mean ( fooled again ) fingers crossed!. Anyways that’s what the translation said , maybe I should go back to college or something !.

  36. There are other offers on Amazon.fr. Gun‘s Roses Use your illusion CD Superdeluxe 135€. Queen – The Platinium Collection , the coloured Vinyls 90 €. U2 – Songs of Surrender 4 LP

  37. Pierre and Paul, after a shocker of a week you have made my day, maybe even year, with the heads up on The Who box set. Christmas has come early! Thanks guys!

  38. Ouchy ouch! Haven’t even played the ‘Oo’ box yet!! The one big offer I haven’t missed out on, can put in my basket, and for another couple of quid arrives tomorrow. Evens out with the other cool savings made here over the year.

  39. Thanks, Pierre, for the deal on the Who’s Next / Lifehouse. Came to £108 incl one day shipping. I’ll thank my wife for the Christmas present when she wakes up later

  40. Thanks for the heads-up re The Who, Paul. Most appreciated. I knew I had to get this but getting it for under £110 definitely takes a lot of buyer’s remorse out of it!

    1. Same old same old. I got a message that parcel was shipped and received mail with exact delivery day. 1 day before arrival the carrier contacted me and said that parcel was empty. They didn’t replace it and cancelled straight away. Same happened earlier when it was on sale on amazon.com
I have plenty of terrible experiences with them.

    1. Merci beaucoup ++!! Never thought I would be able to get it at this sort of price – just shows how it pays to keep an eye on the comments in the Current Deals page :)

    2. I’ve been on an amazing journey with this box the past 10 days. It got to $237 and I ordered via Amazon, next day it drops to $199 and asked if I could get a price match. Nope gotta order at the lower price and return the first one. Ok I’m going to go with the program. Now with this deal it $143 US shipped… Yep, 3rd set coming and will be prepping for a second return. Thanks for the tip!

    3. Thanks a lot for that managed to cancel my earlier pre order from Denmark (£130) which in itself was a great saving on Uk, but had to phone them up to do it as emails ain’t answered immediately. But still saved around £20 all told due to your great spot!.

  41. The big Box of Who’s Next seems to be a big part on this years Black Friday Sales. pricedrops here and there.

    Another one in Germany
Justforkicks.de is selling it 149 euros.

  42. There was a deal at the start of the month with Rarewaves UK for Dylan Springtime Box at £38.
Can i ask if anybody has received their copy yet? I got a shipping notification on November 3rd but no sign of it yet.
No tracking number showing on my account
It’s Rarewaves UK rather than US and they are usually ok.

    1. They never send anything tracked as far as i’m aware of.
Seems to be cheaper for them to send stuff more than once if lost in the postal systems of the world than to pay for track & trace.
To their credit i can say that every time something i ordered from them didn’t appear on my doorstep within a reasonable time (in Germany i usually give them a month) they either sent out a replacement copy or refunded me pronto if the item wasn’t in stock anymore.

    2. I ordered several items from Rarewaves UK in one order. They all apparently shipped on the same day but some arrived 2 weeks after the others, so i take their shipping notifications & delivery estimates with a pinch of salt.

      1. Thanks guys for your comments. This morning I received a reply from Rarewaves customer services. Very customer focussed – telling me how important I am to them etc. Confirmed no tracking but they will send a replacement copy today anyway.

        1. RareWaves are worth dealing with if you have patience. Some deliveries can take up to 2 weeks after shipping notification. Some don’t arrive BUT customer service is very good and a replacement is often sent in a couple of days.
I receive my 2LP ‘Another Budokan’ the day after its release same with some other orders. So like I said worth dealing with especially as their pricing can be the cheapest around otherwise shop around.

  43. Thanks for the alert at that price I had to go for it been waiting for a while to see if it decreases as full price was out of my comfort zone but at £129 shipped to the UK that’s a really good price considering it’s £195 on Amazon at the Black Friday Deal a further £66 off. Never ordered from Denmark before but had to at that price alert. Thanks again.

  44. Beach Boys Sail On Sailor 6CD is 39.99 euros on iMusic.Dk.

As someone else has said the Who’s Next box set is half price.

    Lots of good deals there

    1. Yeah, that was me, but somehow my comment won’t be approved anymore. What’s my mistake, Paul?

Besides, the Nirvana Nevermind 30th Anniversary SDE is available at around 41 Euros there.

      1. Possibly because ‘Cellobene’ further down this thread had beaten you to it…

Not mentioned yet afaik but also a really good deal on imusic is the 8 cd box of Humble Pie’s A&M albums for around 40€. Prices seem to vary a bit depending on where you are.

        1. Oh yeah, probably. Thanks for the info – hadn’t seen the first posting. Additionally, I accidentally wrote imusic.de as the link, which works, but actually it is imusic.dk…

    2. Thanks for the tip – A good selection of audiophile Jazz releases at good prices esp. from the ‘Verve By Request’ series such as Herbie Hancock ‘The New Standard’, Wayne Shorter ‘Footprints (Live)’ at c.40% off

  45. Cheers for that. Also got Rory gallaghers deuce box for 33 euro, the sail on sailor box for 39.50, pj Harvey’s 3cd demos and b sides 10.49 and the 3 cd beach boys sounds of the summer 10.49

  46. The official UK Polydor Records Store (no – I didn’t know there was one either) store.polydor.co.uk has a very impressive sale.
30% off by using the imaginatively titled code “30OFF”
They stock a limited number of artists with links to their label obviously, but The Who’s Next SDE is this biggest bargain coming in at £161 shipped after discount. Cheapest price I think I’ve seen in UK

    1. I don’t think it’s been around that long. Foolishly I clicked on the link to the BF sale, saw the price at £229 and thought that’s not much of a bargain. Not thinking I needed to take the 30% off myself. I’ve been dithering about it but at that price might be worth getting.

    1. iansrose I’ve bought from imusic and there was no customs charge ( I’d bought sixty quids worth of stuff, IDK if that makes a difference) and p/p was under six quid

  47. Wow, fantastic price
107.49 Euro (after VAT deduction) to Australia. Then I went to check out and delivery is 71.49 Euro – OUCH!!
Why does the damn thing need to be so heavy.
In reality a total of 178.98 Euro (AUD 298) is still a very good price given the starting price point.
    Decisions, Decisions!

  48. Not sure if these have been mentioned. I’ve just been browsing the top 100 chart on JPC and saw:
The Beach Boys Sail on Sailor SDE 6CD Euro 59.99
Rolling Stones GRR Live 3LP (White Vinyl) Euro 36.99
Who’s Next Lifehouse SDE Euro 199.99
    Who’s Next 4LP Euro 49.99

  49. Black Friday deals at Fnac.com (France) :
    – Teaser and the Firecat SDE (with vynil) 71.99€
    – Kiss “Creatures of the Night” SDE 149.99€
    – Elton John’s Madman across the water 3CD+Bluray 29.99€
    – The Rolling Stones 7″ singles box 71.99€
    – 50% off on both Guns n Roses Use your Illusions boxsets that’s 119€ for the CD version)
And a few more of interest for SDE lovers, in the black Friday section of the site

    1. Thanks Francois. There’s also:
Beach Boys “Sounds of Summer” 6L.P. €45
Dexys “Too-Rye-Ay” vinyl box set €60set
      Best of Nirvana vinyl €10

    1. Hi Herve,

I couldn’t see the CD box set at that price at Fnac, but the 3 LP set is €25.99.
The CD box set is on Amazon France at €28.35

      I bought them both.

  50. Zappa/ Erie 6CD Box Set 42,37 and The Mothers 1971 8CD Box Set 31,99 Euro on amazon.de. Frank Zappa live is always overprized but these are good offers.

  51. A few lowest prices on amazon.ca for a change – all CD sets; all CAD$:
Complete Studio Albums & Rarities by Stevie Nicks $93.97
Joni Mitchell Archives, Vol. 3: The Asylum Years (1972-1975) by Joni Mitchell $61.40
Divine Symmetry by David Bowie $85.01 – this one is a prime exclusive

And while not the lowest price on the various amazon sites this one is pretty low too:
    BBC Broadcasts by Genesis $58.72

  52. Eric Clapton Definitive 24 Nights box sets up to -30% off in Amazon DE/ES/UK/USA. For example, in the US 6-CD+3Blu-Ray is 97$ and 8-LP+3 Blu-Ray 178$

  53. Not really a deal alert but sound of vinyl US has Abba Arrival Half Speed Remaster 45rpm double vinyl for $72 in stock (?) Discogs commands silly prices. Let’s see if it will be fulfilled.

    1. It’s real. I got one recently. It was a bit battered and shrink torn so had obviously been kicking around a warehouse for a while, but genuine.
I also ordered Taylor Swift Reputation Black Vinyl (It’s usually seen only as Picture Disc which has ropey sound quality). This was clearly advertised (and still is advertised I think) as Black vinyl, but when it came, it turned out to be the usual picture disc. I queried it with their customer services and to be fair, they quickly confirmed mistake and promptly gave me a full refund including all postage, and didn’t ask for the picture disc to be returned.

    1. I looked this up minutes after receiving the deal alert and it was gone. I reckon Amazon sold one or two at the reduced price as part of their Black Friday offers.

  54. Popped into Morrisons supermarket on way home tonight and was surprised to see piles of “Now & Then” – CD and Black Vinyl versions. My local Morrison has always kept a very modest CD section but never seen CD singles or vinyl there before.

    1. My local WH Smiths has just started selling vinyl albums. No surprises there, just the usual names; Beatles, Queen, Floyd, whatever… all at full price. Wonder why?

  55. The Sound of Vinyl US has the “FREE” vinyl promo going on again (“just pay shipping”). Last time you had to checkout one at a time and pay $8 shipping. This time, the more you order at once, the lower the shipping. I put 2 in my cart and shipping was $25, but for 3, it was $33…so it went down the more you have in your cart. I got 40th Anniver Rush Moving Pictures, Wings Wild Life, and Stones Emotional Rescue.

    1. Thanks for the heads-up. Took advantage of this last time. Shipping is higher now. Was $8 for single LP and $11 for double LPs last time. I see it is $14 for a single LP now. Bummer.

    2. I posted about this a week ago, but not sure what happened. I never saw it after it was screened. I bought Tom Petty, McCartney, Stones and Sinatra for the bit overpriced cost of shipping,

  56. Teaser and the Firecat (the expensive) 50th anniversary vinyl edition. Using the SDE widget, there are 10 copies showing on Amazon.com at £83 and they deliver to UK! With delivery and VAT added this comes to £100 – best price I’ve seen to date.

      1. Use the search box above for Teaser and the Firecat, it will take you to the original SDE page. There you’ll see the list of prices as usual, except they are nearly always (in my experience) up to date. The Amazon.com price is listed as the cheapest. Click on it in the normal way to be taken straight to the offer.

  57. For fans of the Coop; as well as the reduction in the School’s Out 3LP mentioned, the 3LP edition of Killer is also reduced, currently at £45 on Amazon UK.

  58. Patience has been rewarded. Just bagged Neil Young Official Release Series 22,23,24,25 vinyl box for £118 at Amazon UK.
Contains Freedom, Ragged Glory (expanded),Weld and Arc. Originally around £50 more. Still available!

    1. 197€ on Amazon France but only for those living there as it is shipped by Amazon UK, otherwise 204€ for anyone and shipped by Amazon France.
You have to look for it under other available sellers.
Either way a better price than UK’s Amazon

        1. It’s not that difficult to understand. Each Amazon country site is treated as a separate entity stock-wise. Often hubs will hold stock of items that are on the books of other Amazon sites so items may be physically located in the UK but legally/financially they aren’t & can’t be sold via the UK site (& Amazon.uk staff would have no visibility of this stock on their systems as its on the inventory of a different Amazon country site). Similarly i have received quite a few items ordered on Amazon.fr & Amazon.de that actually shipped from one of the Amazon hubs in Scotland.

  59. Some decent reductions on Amazon UK under today’s deals. Who box set £195.49. Reductions on half speed master and Wembley Blu-ray. Pretenders £7.99 and pretty good deal on Gerry Rafferty half speed master vinyl.
    And many more!!

    1. Thanks Jack – got one. This has been a long term resident on my wish list. It’s been an expensive weekend – bought a Last Night from Glasgow subscription, took advantage of the Rarewaves and eBay discounts, and bought the Who’s Next box. Operation Stealth currently being planned for when all the packages arrive.

    2. Looks like a great deal. Anyone ordered from this site before and know if you’re likely to get hit by VAT/import duties, or is this all in? Thanks

      1. Ordered many times from Jpc.de – very reliable. Good packaging.
Value is well below the limit for VAT/import duties so providing you aren’t buying as part of a much bigger order, then there should be no extra cost

  60. Rarewaves have another “10% off if you spend £20” offer until midnight tomorrow Sunday. As per, the things I would go for (eg Joni’s Archives 3) are “sold out”.

      1. 159.99 Euros is close to the acceptable limit and depending on the exchange rate on a given day it may well go under it, so some may be tempted. However, Bravado.de charge 14.75 euros to ship to UK and this is included in the taxable total so this definitely puts it over, so the charges as Paul stated will apply.
I notice that Bravado don’t reduce the tax on UK orders like others do (ie JPc, Amazon) . So in effect, you are paying taxes to both Germany and UK

    1. Thanks, a price I can live with so I just ordered one! Been on a massive The Who kick lately and reading Richie Unterberger’s book on the Lifehouse project at the moment. So a nice combo.

  61. A few of the Ocean Colour Scene Yesterday Today box sets have dropped a few £££

The 1992-1997 5LP coloured vinyl box is £69.72
    The 2005-2013 4LP is £65

    And the 15CD 1992-2018 box is £82

    1. Wow, that’s a bargain. I’ve ordered a copy – but my expectations of my order being fulfilled aren’t high as it’s being sold by Rarewaves.

      1. Anyone received this yet? I’m perhaps a bit premature, but I can’t help noticing there’s no tracking, so I am a bit concerned if it’ll turn up or not…

        1. My copy finally arrived this morning and it is the 4LP clear vinyl edition.

Like you I was beginning to wonder if it would ever arrive but – having just checked the despatch notification (which I received on 9th November), the delivery estimate was 18th November to 6th December so it’s actually a day early.

    1. Check your order carefully on this one if ordering from the UK. It shows the 14.98 euro price against the item, but when I go to checkout the price automatically changes to 44.40 euro. Not been able to find a way around it yet.

  62. The Billy Bragg Roaring Forties 14CD box set down to £112 on Amazon UK – best price I’ve seen

And Brian May Star Fleet box is down to £69, although still waiting for bigger drops as we have seen before with the Gold Series!

    1. Signed copies are available again from his website at £120, which seems pretty reasonable against the unsigned Amazon price I think; BUT, and it’s a big BUT, you then get to the bit which says “Please note that due to the weight being just over 2kg this item can only be shipped by Royal Mail Parcel Force, approx cost UK is £32.10”, bringing the total to £152.10. Surely there must be a better value shipping method which doesn’t amount to 25% of the price of the set itself? The music content looks really interesting though …

    1. Missed it the first time but managed to score one of the DVDs myself, it’s told me there’s one coming in the next couple of weeks. Result!

  63. Regarding that RareWaves US offer for the Who’s Next big box for approx £45. After the 1st shipped box never arrived I contacted them and they supposedly sent a 2nd box. After 3 weeks and no delivery I again contacted them asking why did they B.S. about sending anything, I got no reply, messaged them again and still no reply then eBay contacted me saying I’d been refunded. What a bunch of time wasting cowboys, they are in the US!

    1. Agreed. Mine was a similar experience, although I was refunded as soon as I reported to Ebay that the delivery date had been missed first time round. I don’t think they ever had any of the box sets for sale at the price advertised (unless anyone has actually received one from Rarewaves US at around the £45 mark), so what they hoped to achieve, I do not know. I got a full refund, but what a waste of time!

      1. Same for me, they even provided a tracking number that didn’t work, I assumed that someone noticed the error and pulled it from the outgoing mail before it left the warehouse

        1. Just to even the record a little bit, I was one of the lucky ones to receive the Who’s Next: Lifehouse box set from Rarewaves on e-Bay for $55.81. I was sent a tracking number and the package arrived in about 2 weeks.

          1. It’s great to hear that SOMEBODY actually got the deal! Are you U.S. based? Maybe they pulled the plug on overseas sales (I’m in the U.K.).
But why all the B.S. – I was given a quick refund when I enquired, an apology and told they were aware of delays in the postal system. Never the same story twice it seems.

          2. Yes, I am U.S. based. I placed my order on September 11 and the box set was delivered on September 21. Remarkably good fortune.

  64. A bit off topic:

I’ve received an email from WMG today where they told me that the replacement discs for Pet Shop Boys’ ‘Smash’ SDE are about to be mailed to everyone who asked for them.

  65. Eric Clapton: Nothing But the Blues (1995) 2022 SDE 2LP, 2CD + Blu-Ray $55 on AMZ US (76% off $230 list price)
King Crimson – In the Court of the Crimson King 2019 3CD + Blu-ray $28 on AMZ US (23% off $36 list price)
    Peter Gabriel – i/o (Bright-Side Mix, Dark-Side Mix, In-Side Mix) 2CD + Blu-Ray $22.50 pre-order on AMZ US (20% off $28 List Price)

    1. Been waiting for a long time for a significant price drop, and although this is still a little more than I wanted to pay for it – I finally took the plunge. Thanks for the heads up.

    1. Thanks. It finally got to the price where I was willing to get it. It dipped down close to this price a few weeks back, but wasn’t quite there.

  66. For OMD fans , the group offers on its site a deluxe digital version of his latest album for 7.95 € , only available until thursday 2/11/2023 at 23h59. There is 29 tracks so the album + the instrumental album version + 3 B-sides + 2 remixes .
Take it before it disappears . Enjoy.

  67. Not a huge deal and a frustrating release (on the basis that the digital version came packaged with a live album while the CD had just a handful of extras) but the Chemical Brothers Dig Your Own Hole 25th anniversary 2CD is £9.99 on Amazon UK.

  68. Beach Boys Sail On Sailor 1972 currently cheap(er) at amazon.fr :

    6CD : £87,21 / €103,73 (amazon UK £ 162,93 !)
    5LP+7″ : £43,51 / € 51,70 (amazon UK £ 112,92 !)

    6CD also cheapish at amazon.com : $ 113,07

    1. Thanks Gerbrand. I ordered then cancelled as looking more closely, a lot of the discs are live stuff, which I tend to find less interesting than the studio stuff. I’ve got others like Feel Flows in the box, but suddenly feel like waiting until this too is about £60 for the big box. How does anyone who has it rate it (for the extra stuff, I know the albums are great). Thanks

  69. Some good deals at the Rough Trade Store on Ebay UK at moment. Some old box sets are heavily discounted but there is an additional 20% off the discounted price if you use Ebay code SPOOKY20
I just got a couple of Depeche Mode 12″ boxes for £30, Springsteen River CD/Blu ray box for £29, and Dylan 1966 36CD box for £36
I also noticed Thin Lizzy Live & Dangerous works out at £63 and Stones Hackney box at £40
    Free post on all

      1. I notice that since my first post, Rough Trade have increased the base prices for some items this morning (Depeche boxes & Dylan). The Dylan box now works out at £41 – still a bargain
There also some new bargains this morning – or I missed them yesterday. For example -Springsteen on Broadway 4LP set works out at £24. Debbie Harry Koo Koo Clear Vinyl double works out at £34, Depeche Mode Broken Frame 12″ singes box £24

  70. The on-again-off-again 10% off sale at Rarewaves has been flicked back into the on position, it also applies to SALE stock so there are some real bargains to be had.

  71. Rarewaves have a 10% off everything over £20, using code RWOCT10. So just picked up the rather excellent Midge Ure The Gift 4CD for £19.74, free post.

  72. Blondie Against The Odds 8CD currently $68 on US Amazon. Dunno if that will last, as it’s the same figure as on Amazon UK but dollars instead of pounds & the seller on US is importing

  73. Here’s an interesting one. Perhaps in error, Amazon UK are selling the replacement DVD from the Neil Young Harvest 50th box set for 99p. Search for Neil Young 1971 DVD and there it is. I ordered yesterday and happy to report it arrived today.

      1. I have the CD/DVD Box Set and never got around to sending for a replacement so for the sake of 99p it saves a lot of hassle. I’m suspecting too many replacements where ordered or lots of people like me never bothered sending for a replacement. So thanks N.Sky.

  74. Nick Lowe’s “Brentford Trilogy” set (“The Impossible Bird, “Dig My Mood” and “The Convincer”) available for £3.54 on Rarewaves…

      1. As Lowe (haha) as £4.25 on Ebay (new and sealed).

I’m not massively familiar with his solo stuff (although I did see him live with Ry Cooder a few years ago) but three highly regarded albums for that price is definitely worth a punt.

    1. Only 5 tracks into the first disc and this is wonderful. Does anyone else often want to slap themselves for not checking out someone sooner? This is Richard Thompson all over again – I’ve got some catching up to do.

  75. A few decent prices I noticed on Amazon UK

Tom Petty Fillmore East 4CD set is £41
Queen – News Of The World 3CD/DVD Super Deluxe is £66
Dylan Mono Recordings 8CD is back to £50

  76. The Art of McCartney deluxe CD/USB/DVD/Vinyl/Book and artworks is £50.00 on RECORDSTORE ordered it two days ago thinking it was a mistake and I’d end up with just the triple CD.

  77. Currently on Amazon UK:

    Paul Simon – Still Crazy….Vinyl ALBUM – £11.35

Bruce Springsteen – Human Touch (2 Disc) Vinyl – £11.75

  78. I used the £5 off if you spend £15 voucher on the Joni Mitchell box and have just been offered the same deal by Amazon Italy. Still worth checking this out throughout Europe.

  79. I bought the standard 4 CD John Hughes set when it was first released and it has been a constant presence in my CD player. Fantastic compilation and triggers great memories of specific scenes in his films. Not sure if the standard edition still available but well worth £30.

  80. Amazon US seems to have Tears for Fears Songs From Big Chair 6 cd Deluxe for $79. 6 copies available with more to come. Also Rolling Stones Steel Wheels live 3 cd 2 dvd 1 blu ray for $37 and Tina Turner Foreign Affair deluxe also $37.

    1. Although I could do without Archives 1 for this price I had to get it especially as it completes the set up to now. Thanks georgec.

      1. Agreed. I queried with them some time ago as to whether it’s possible to search for all the deals on their website, but it appears it isn’t. You can search under ‘Music Offers’ but it’s a fairly limited selection. Unless anyone else knows of a way…

          1. Exactly. Plus there is a huge list of stuff that I would consider buying if it is a good price, but I don’t specifically need them.
I buy so many records and CDs because someone lists them here and they appeal to me, rather than me actively wanting them.

  81. “Life Moves Pretty Fast” is even cheaper on rarewaves, £59 for the headline 4CD + 7″ edition. If you don’t mind waiting a few extra days, all the formats are cheaper on there than Amazon…and have been for a while!

    1. Many thanks Richard S just snagged myself a bargain on Rarewaves “Life moves pretty fast” for a smidge over £19. Result! Good strong name by the way.
