    1. Hi Martin,
      I asked them for an explanation as to why customers who had ordered after me, had received theirs and I had been treated differently. Took me about four emails. I also asked Amazon UK to supply me with details of their policy on this for all EU member states (still to receive this) as I had always been given the item at the prob I orders it at, even if it subsequently went back up in price. That’s about it really but I eventually got an apology for the misunderstanding, asked to keep the 10 Euro credit and offered the opportunity to reorder with them refunding me to the original price.
      The item arrived on Friday very well packaged and immaculate.

  4. Hi Guys, just to update you all, after pointing out to Amazon the error of their ways, I now have the box set winging its way towards me for the offer price. Should arrive in the next few days.

  5. Not for a moment did I expect this ABBA box set to arrive, but lo and behold, I picked it up today from my local post office. Total cost €46.74 including shipping! Amazing deal, cannot thank you enough Paul :-)

  6. Mine arrived yesterday – in a massive box well wrapped and protected.

    I have spent many happy hours in junk shops, charity shops, second hand specialist music shops both at home and in practically every city I visit on holiday but this is probably one of the best deals I have ever had – well pleased !!

  7. Digging further on this there was a message in my account section ( not emailed to me) saying that the order has been cancelled as the price shown on the website was wrong!! Hmm, any thoughts or advice?

    1. Ultimately there’s nothing you can do I’m afraid. Amazon does have the right to do this, even if you seem to have been a bit unlucky since the majority did seem to get the deal. I reckon many of us have had this at some point or another. Annoying for you of course, but hopefully there will be other deals and your luck will be better :)

  8. After placing an order I was told it has been dispatched – due to arrive 14-16th Jan – not arrived yet and when I checked my account at Amazon Italy, it said the order had been cancelled. Puzzling and disappointing.

  9. A friend of mine alerted me to this by leaving a voicemail on my landline, and I didn’t pick it up for a couple of days. I was lucky enough to see it was still at the bargain price and ordered even though it was out of stock. As I was late, I expected it to be cancelled, but no it turned up yesterday in perfect condition, the only thing missing is the download voucher, but for less than £30,I’m not sending it back! I’ve now subscribed to this wonderful website! Cheers!

  10. Thanks to those who provided the order info. In both instances your orders were after mine, so it is a lottery!
    Happy that at least some people got theirs, just annoyed at Amazon for their inconsistency. I am currently annoying the lo with constant emails requesting information on their policy across EU member states

    1. I am still involved in the Abbagate scandal with Amazon.
      I have had a 10 Euro credit added to my account as compensation (big deal) , I’m not letting them off with this so I am going to keep pushing until I get a clear explanation as to why some customers were treated differently than others!

      1. My box arrived yesterday and in A1 condition. Code for 320kbp mp3s as well. I ordered just 5 hours before Kenny R. It was definitely out of stock at the time.

  11. Ok, the plot thickens.

    Box set has duly arrived ahead of the scheduled delivery date and is in perfect condition, no split sleeves etc.

    However, the box that this was delivered in has clearly come from Amazon’s distribution warehouse in Dunfermline, Scotland (I’m based in Scotland) and that is also listed as the returns address.
    The box is also printed all-over with Amazon.co.uk.

    So, has this actually come from Italy at all or has this been supplied by Amazon UK or, do international items typically get shipped to the nearest distribution centre for local delivery ?

    Anyway, at the end of the day I’m happy and this was a brilliant deal.

    1. It’s hard to fathom how Amazon’s distribution works, but for those in the UK, having a Scotland returns address is certainly better than having to ship back to Italy if there are any issues. Apart from a few unlucky people, I’m getting the impression that most got their ABBA boxes, which is great news.

  12. My order was placed on 1st January at 11.55am and the item was definitely showing as “out of stock”.

    Not received yet but received confirmation of despatch email at 22.30 on Monday night (11th Jan) and it’s definitely in transit and showing expected delivery for Saturday.

    My total cost for the item is €38.41 (with €4.76 shipping) which works out at £29.43 all in.

  15. Could any of you that successfully received this item, post the date and time of their order as I want to take Amazon to task on this as Amazon usually honour orders at the prder price if they are out of stock.
    Mines was cancelled after I was given a delivery date – the whole thing stinks!
    My order acknowledgment was received on 31/12/2015 @ 23:46

  16. After enduring mental anguish over multiple shipping status request ,finally the order is dispatched through DHL Global Express but from Germany.. Funny that shipping cost is more than the item itself!! but happy that it is still a deal considering its regular price of 80-100 in any currency EUR/GBP

  18. I think i am very lucky, because i just received a confirmation from amazon.it that the box has been shipped to me. I paid €38 euro including everything: less than €5 per album. thanks, Paul, for the heads up!

  19. Ordered when deal was live, got confirmation, then an out of stock email. I next got an email saying delivery on 14th January, and today a cancellation stating it was mispriced.
    If it was mispriced they shouldn’t have supplied any!
    Glad a few people got them but I am going to complain, usually the least you get is another month added to your Amazon prime membership lol

  21. Not sure whats happening with my order but I didn’t receive any such mails (double checked Junk/span folder just in case, to be sure)..so I am still hopeful!
    However I must say £43.83 (excl EU VAT) current listing at UK is a good deal ,also no matter what the product is shipping is hat standard £3.58 unlike 29 EUR of IT.

      Not sure what’s going here but I’ve been checking all day for the cancellation email (I ordered when it was showing “out of stock”), have just checked the website and the status has changed tonight to despatched, delivery expected Saturday!

      Amazon.it need to get their stories straight on what’s going on here?

  23. I’ve just received an e-mail from Amazon Italy to inform me that my order has been cancelled due to the incorrect price being listed on their website. Never had that before! Well done to all who managed to secure the set at that price though.

I had ordered it when it went out of stock, and although it is back in stock today, they are cancelling all orders at the discount price saying the pricing “was an error” – although clearly it wasn’t since they delivered to everyone who ordered while it was in stock at the time. Very disappointing when they do this as it means they don’t hold to their offer (although I suspect the small print covers them for this).

Amazon-it/fr/es- they always end up sending bulky stuffs like this with poor packaging ..wonder how mine will arrive but mind you amazon customer service is second to none.. if you notify this through ‘contact us in english’ by mail i am sure you will receive compensation in the form of replacement or refund..good luck with that..
    About 6 months back I received Eric Rohmer box set from amazon.fr in a completely battered state but when notified they dispatched replacement promptly..so hope you will find a resolution with that damage issue..

    1. Actually the packaging was quite good (box in a box) It’s just al the 8 albums have some damage/splits at the same place. Still doubting if I will send it back or not. We’ll see..

  26. Opened mine today, great deal for the box but too bad the albums sleeves aren’t as sturdy as they used to be. Mine are all cracked on the upper side. Anyone else has this problem?

        1. I think a used copy of The Visitors is my only ABBA vinyl, but to get everything for around £30 shipped was a bit of a no-brainer :)

  34. Many folks were right here..Amazon-Italy no longer offers this vinyl box set, I doubt if this item will ever be back in stock here! I was lucky to pick this up for around 50 GBP (excl. VAT) on Amazon-UK .

  38. Gone for this too, but not optimistic it will be fulfilled – suspect same with the recent The Wall set. But we’ll see.

    I’ve seen people mention getting a deal email about this? I didn’t, and never do, although I am signed up to emails. Do I need to sign up to a deal email seperately and if so how?

    1. Yes, the same was happening to me Andrew until I realised that I had to also specifically sign up for deal alert e-mails on the home page (unless Paul corrects me). The only downside since signing up for deal alerts is the sorry state of my bank balance!

    I have ordered one but am a bit concerned that Amazon Italy might end up charging me more than I want to pay since it has the credit card details. Does anyone know if there will be an option to cancel the order if it is not honoured at the price ordered today? It could turn out not to be the great deal we expect.

  43. I think Amazon will honour the price if bought when out of stock. They certainly did so with ‘The Wall’ Immersion box set I bought a couple of weeks ago – though that was UK Amazon not Italy, but no reason to think otherwise.

  47. At just over $60 USD with shipping, the temptation is maddening. Although this is something that I’d like to own, I don’t HAVE to have it so at this moment I am passing. Of course I can always change my mind once I finish my coffee!

    Which says to me – when it comes back, it’s gonna be dearer

    1. Not quite right Andy. If you place your order now you are locked in to the €33 price, but you will have to wait for stock. I actually think they will get some of these back in so it’s by no means a hopeless situation. It’s not like the box is out of print.

  51. Is there a word for the simultaneous feeling of disappointment and relief you get when you click on a Deal Alert email and find that it’s something you’re not interested in buying?

      1. Would that it were. I ordered it, it told me unavailable, and I speak just enough italian to agree with Google Translate. Perhaps it didn’t want to ship to America.
