  1. Good deal on the new Rory Gallagher triple vinyl for Deuce 50th. €40 including postage in amazon.es. Maybe still not cheap but about two-thirds of the other Amazons.

  2. A couple of deals on Amazon US.

Kraftwerk – Remixes (3 LP) down to $26.

Motorhead – No Sleep Til Hammersmith 40th Anniversary (3 LP box set) down to $29.

  4. The 3CD edition of Garbage’s Beautiful Garbage is £10 on Amazon UK. Good price.

David Crosby’s If Only I Could Remember My Name 2CD has dropped again to an excellent £7.50.

  5. The fifth instalment in the Toyah catalogue reissue series from Cherry Red was announced this morning (one day after the fourth, ‘Anthem’, hit the shelves). ‘Live at the Rainbow’ is released Friday 25 November 2022 on Transparent Aqua Blue Vinyl 2LP (16-tracks) and CD (19-tracks)+DVD w/ 3 exclusive Bonus Tracks. There still seem to copies with the signed postcards available at the time of posting (though their website is struggling at the moment!). cherryred.co.uk/toyah

  6. A few vinyl box set deals on Amazon US. All are lowest price to date, according to Camel x 3.

    Mark Knopfler – Studio Albums 1996-2007 (11 LP) – $131

Abba – Vinyl Album Box Set (10 LP) – $134

    ELP – Out of This World Live 1970-1997 (10 LP) – $101

  7. What with the announcement of PJ Harvey’s non-album demos 3CD collection today, it’s a good time to stock up on some of the demos albums already released:

    Dry Demos
    White Chalk Demos
To Bring You My Love Demos
    Is This Desire Demos

are all £5 on Amazon UK at the moment.

    1. Damn, bought most of those at normal price. Still holding out for the last 2 “Let England Shake” and “Hope 6”. Must admit the vinyl box looks really good, but I’ll pick up the CD version.

  8. The Primal Scream – Screamadelica 12″ Singles box is down to £67 on Amazon UK. Think there were some poor pressings and mislabelling on this set so buyer beware I guess.

  9. The rather brilliant Protest Songs 1924-2012 by The Specials is cheap on all formats just now on Amazon UK.
The vinyl is just above £8 and the CD is £3.50, while the deluxe CD is around £5. Worth a flutter.

  10. A couple of copies of the 3CD deluxe edition of Spiritualized’s Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space for £5.99 on Amazon UK (this is one of the best bargains I’ve ever seen on Amazon – this set has been floating at about £20 for years)

    https://amzn.to/3Qn5NwE

  11. The Metallica Blacklist 4-CD covers set is only $13.44 USD on AMZ US (55% discount off the $29.98 retail price).

Weezer, St. Vincent, Miley Cyrus with Yo-Yo Ma/Robert Trujillo/Chad Smith/Elton John, Dave Gahan, Darius Rucker, Chris Stapleton, Rodrigo Y Gabriela and many, many more groups covering tracks off the Black Album for charity. 53 tracks. Great deal at this price.

      1. Thanks for that N. Sky, I’m not a Metallica fan, I have a mate who is, and I don’t think I’ve heard any songs by them knowingly. Of course a know about them and this set has some artists I am a fan of, so for 8 Quids + pennies – ordered.

  12. Couple of very small savings on Amazon uk

Motörhead- No Sleep Til Hammersmith 40th 4CD is £24

Bernard Butler – People Move On signed 25th 4CD is also £24

    1. Motorhead Hammersmith set is £23.99 on Music Magpie shop on Ebay UK (free postage). There is also a 15% discount (code FANCY15) which takes it down to £20.39

    2. No Sleep Til……..I remember the next door idiot had a party while her parents were away. Shyte music played far too loud, asked politely for the music to be lowered just a bit because I was working in the morning. No reduction on the volume so I burned 4 copies of No Sleep Til and before leaving for work at 05:30 the next morning (the party was just winding down and the revellers staying over or that was their plan) I played No Sleep at full blast on my main system (120 Watts per channel) and on the 4 other players in adjacent rooms to her property and left them playing on repeat. When I arrived back home at 16:30 the thing I did was call round and ask if they were enjoying the music. I got an apology and an acceptance that she was out of order, which was a good thing because Id have left Lemmy seranading and go to the pub.

The wife was away or she wouldnt have let me take revenge!

  13. Pretty Things Live at the BBC 6 cd is £32 on Amazon UK. I think that is the best I have seen it.

I have just been offered £5 off when I spend £15 plus from Amazon UK, so look out for that.

  14. Amazon US deals:

    Rolling Stones – Goat’s Head Soup SDE (3 CD/Blu Ray) – $71

    Keith Richards – Main Offender SDE (3 LP/2 CD) – $66

OMD Architecture & Morality – The Singles (3 colored LPs) – $26 (deal from June back on)

  15. Elton John’s 2CD version of Madman Across The Water is down to £9.99 on Amazon UK. On it you get 26 of the 34 tracks from the super deluxe box set for £30 less, so if you’re not too fussed about the whole shebang then it’s a pretty decent price.

    https://amzn.to/3CBsquh

  16. Ok – this one will have limited appeal (and not to me personally), but I stumbled across it on Amazon UK and it might interest someone.
    Showaddywaddy – Singles Collection – 33CD Box (including 2 Greatest Hits compilations) – only £33 !

  17. Ive been noticing The BeatlesLet It Beoffer all these weeks and never bothered. Today I realised I didnt have it, just the Bluray which a mate gave me, he dosent have a S.S. setup. So Ive ordered it, I have the 4LP/EP S.E., so this set now completes my LP & CD S.E. Boxes of the 4 Beatles albums given the S.E. treatment.

Revolver is next and that is definate. Who says so? No other than Giles Martin himself on his Twitter account: https://twitter.com/mashupmartin/status/1563838472082817026?s=21&t=n8whtZPmcp3P1d27rhPpKQ

      1. It is still available from Amazon UK at £39.55 – You have to look under ‘Other Sellers’. The £99 is from another seller (speedyhen). As at 1300hrs 29/8.

    1. Excellent, thanks, seen Six reduced a few times but never this one.

Make sure to specify you want Amazon packaging otherwise it’ll arrive trashed with an address label on the shrink wrap!!

    2. This just arrived, and despite no mention of it on Amazon it’s actually signed by Paul Draper! Very pleased with this, thanks again Matt D.

  18. Second try re JPC offering the Ultravox Rage In Eden 5CD/1DVD for the cheapest I’ve seen €56.99.
There was a voucher code that popped-up via a plug-in in Edge browser too which brought it in at £42 inc delivery to UK.

In other news the announcement of the New Order Low Life Definitive Edition box set should be happening in the next week or two. Word has it that it’s gone into production at Warners and will see the light of day this side of Xmas. Nothing concrete I’ve heard re the contents though.

    1. Thanks Heraldo. Cancelled my Amazon UK order for Rage In Eden and ordered from here. Came to around £43.50 for me shipped to UK using the discount that popped up on Edge.

        1. Hopefully we’ll be ok for import charges as I think the rule is pre-£135 and it goes through without fees. My recent Queen box set via Amazon France came through with no extra charge.

    1. Watch that one / there is a pressing fault on the live disc – I brought from cherry red direct and they were great and sent a replacement- but I assume the original runs will all have this fault – it is a great set though

    2. Plenty of chat about Disc 4 being corrupted but appears Cherry Red are happy to replace free of charge based on proof of purchase. It’s also available at the same price directly from Cherry Red which might mitigate the above but postage implications obvs if you have Prime.

  19. So, my £48 ATMP box has arrived, 5 days after ordering. Sent from Luxembourg to London. I have to say the packaging from Amazon was first class – a box within another box. A lovely set, which was celephane wrapped too, must be my bargain of the year. PS I do hope the rumour about Revolver is true!

    1. The merit is not Amazon’s. Most, if not all music boxsets, arrive to distributors in the manufacturer’s own box but shops take them out, only god knows why.
If we are lucky, from time to time, Amazon does not unbox them and simply puts them in his own box to be shipped.
I got mine in the same manufacturer’s box, you can see when it was made on a label on one side and realise they are actually ready months before their release.

    2. My £48 Harrison box arrived yesterday. As far as I can tell shipped from within UK. No manufacturers box – in fact no box of any kind! Just rattling around in an oversize M3 envelope. Amazingly though, the set wasn’t damaged in any way. Purely by chance though – certainly not design.

      1. Mine arrived superbly packed as StevieT says from Luxembourg. Touch wood, all my recent box set purchases have come in the manufacturer’s box, within an Amazon box.

    1. I’m excited for you. My “ATMP” 5.1+ copy has been in constant rotation with “Get Back,” “The Tipping Point,” “TSoL,” “Closure/Continuation,” “Let it Be,” and “Abbey Road” (bien sür) — just some of the (more or less) “recent,” HiRez, 5.1+
      Blu-ray music that has impressed…

      Cheers!

  20. Nice price on the 11CD John Lennon Signature Box on Amazon UK – down to £62. Super value way to pick up all the Lennon studio albums (it’s the 2010 remastered editions, if you’re wondering).

  21. Dodgy A&M Years (8 CDs and a signed print) just £32.79 on Amazon UK. This was £55 not that long ago, and it’s a cracking box set.

  22. Just tried to get the Wilco YHF set at the sale price. The item’s page still displayed the sale price but when I went to check out, it jumped up to $100. So I deleted it. But the item’s page was still displaying the sale price. So I tried again, and the cart showed $100 again. Went back and forth a couple more times without being able to check out with the sale price, and now the item’s page shows the $100 price. So, I guess that sale’s over.

  23. Has someone from the EU ordered the ATMP set? Ha e you payed any fees?

This price is so far off from all the others , that I really want to buy it.

  24. Just managed to order the All Things Must Pass 5 disc box for £48 new from Amazon UK, don’t know how many are available at that price though.

    1. Just to mention – you need to look under “other sellers”. It isn’t the leading price shown. Amazon show the price for earliest available as the main price. There is a weeks delay before Amazon receive next stock so the £48 price is a little hidden…

  25. Supergrass – In It For The Money 2021 Vinyl Reissue (with the bonus 12″) is currently on at Amazon for £13.60 for the standard black, and £14.82 for the coloured version.

  26. Though people have commented on Tina Turner – Foreign Affair 5 disc set being cheap, the 2CD set with the remixes is currently £4.17 on amazon UK

  27. Been looking to buy the Toto IV in 5.1 surround for a while but super rare and expensive on EBay. Just found out they are selling a hybrid multi channel SACD version of IV in Japan. The cd layer comes with 4 bonus tracks and the SACD layer is in 5.1!! Immediately bought it from Amazon Japan. The Amazon Japan picture looks great with several booklets and OBI’s.

    1. I grabbed it last week.
Amazing 5.1 and lots of goodies inside the package. You wont be dissppointed!
If you buy from Amazon.jp shipping and taxes are included. It cost 42€ delivered to Spain in three days.

    2. Many thanks for the heads up! I have an SACD player but I don’t have the room to set it up with its amplifier to achieve 5.1 surround. However, I ordered this because it’s too good to pass on. Hopefully I’ll get my rig set up again at some point and I can enjoy this superb album in 5.1. Thanks again!

      1. P.S. I wish they had released this on Blu Ray like they did for the expensive ‘All In’ box set, it’s a much easier way of giving people the 5.1 option. SACD multi-channel is not easy to achieve unless you have the multiple audio outputs/inputs on your SACD player and amp. I do understand the box set ‘label strategy’ though and the Blu Ray exclusivity that the box offers, it’s just a bit frustrating for those of us who want to hear the multi-channel audio. All of my gear runs through my Sonos system so that is further exasperated in that I can’t play multi-channel SACDs with that set-up (HDMI, DTS compatibility issues, etc.).

        1. Not sure if you’re ever going to get 5.1 compatiblity with Sonos, but you don’t necessarily need the multiple outputs for SACD. I run a Denon AVR X4000 amp and Denon DBT-3313UD transport and surround sound can be achieved with just an HDMI cable and the Denon Link cable. Also I know not necessarily helpful if you have a Sonos ecosystem, but something like the Bluesound Powernode can be configured for surround sound with wired front speakers and wireless rears. If you want to dive into surround you do really need to get the compatible gear, which consumer offerings don’t seem to offer. It’s a bit of a niche thing!

  28. A couple of 3rd party sellers shifting the phenomenal basic 5CD/DVD box of The Waterboys’ Magnificent Seven for £16-17 on Amazon UK. Superb price.

      1. I ordered with “uniqueplace UK” based in Switzerland and was notified of dispatch yesterday and then notified order was cancelled today due to no stock!! Did your order go through??

        1. Just checked and my order was from Global Deals UK, which must be in the UK as it arrived earlier this morning having only ordered it on Tuesday. Seems odd that yours would say dispatched and then cancelled after though. Might be worth contacting them to check which is correct.

  29. Emerson Lake & Palmer – Out Of This World live box set. AmazonUK had a cracking deal on the vinyl box last month. Well, the vinyl has now reverted to normal price but it’s the CD box’s turn now. 7CD box currently £31

  30. U2 AYCLB 20th vinyl box is down to £90 on Amazon UK, but more excitingly IKEA have a good deal on their Kallax cabinets atm, about 20% with a family card, I’m sure I’m not the only SDE reader who has made the A40 pilgrimage, as too many SDE deal alerts end up with a cheeky lend of the works van for a mighty Kallax storage unit.

  31. The Wilco Yankee Hotel Foxtrot SDE (8 CDs) is down from $120 to $68 on pre-order at Amazon US.

Also the U2 All That You Can’t Leave Behind SDE (11 LP) is down to $149, also on Amazon US.

    1. Holy moly, that’s a heck of a reduction on Wilco! Preordered from Amazon UK just in case we get a similar reduction before release, but will cancel if not. I’ve no doubt the price will drop after release.

    2. Thanks Greg P, I had ordered from a UK online dealer (no not Amazon) but even when ordering from the US its £10 cheaper including shipping and Customsand £20 cheaper then Am UK. This counts for me because there are quite a few not cheap S.D. releases coming (hopefully) before the years end.

    3. Phenomenal price. Puts it at £75 all in to the UK so possibly a little more than I want to pay for it (I got Being There and Summerteeth for about £20 each) but if you’re in the US it’s a no-brainer.

  32. Nick Cave – B-Sides & Rarities Pt II 2CD is £6.99 on Amazon UK

Pink Floyd – Momentary Lapse Of Reason (2019 Remix) CD/DVD set is down to £15. Finally at a decent price, this, considering it launched at about £30 less than a year ago. The standalone CD is also £6.97 if you’re not interested in the DVD.

    1. I have recently bought Nick Cave – B-Sides & Rarities Part II at a local record store, but there were ‘ticks’ at the start of ‘First Girl in Amber’. Replacing it by another disc did not solve this issue for me. Weirdly enough, I was the first with this complaint according to the employee at the record store.

  33. If the 5CD/BR box set of Nirvana’s Nevermind is too rich for your blood at £48 currently, the pared back 2CD version is £5.99 on Amazon UK.

  34. Not a deal as such – I was at a large record fair in UK this weekend. Quite a few dealers had multiple copies of The Beatles Let It Be box. Most were asking £60. I offered one guy £50 and he accepted straight away. Not much use to any of you I know, but it could be indicative that they are clearing a warehouse somewhere in the supply chain so might be worth keeping an eye on this one on the usual Amazons etc…

    1. Really pays to support the fairs. I went to one in Northallerton at the weekend ad got the Supergrass 3 CD In it for the Money new and sealed for £2 and Bryan Ferry live 2LP from last year new and sealed for a tenner. Also landed about a dozen LPs for £30. Nothing rare but some great albums from my youth which were in great condition.

    2. Yes after getting the Stones Tattoo you deal, a couple of days later I picked up the Goats head new and sealed at a record fair near Clayton for £30.00. I’d have paid that just for the blu ray….. result ….!!!

  35. Oldie but goodie – there’s a 3rd party seller (Chalkys) selling the 2CD/DVD version of Black Grape’s Great When You’re Straight on Amazon UK for £6.68.

  36. George Harrison Deal is available again, and Yusuf / Cat Stevens
Teaser & The Firecat – 50th Anniversary (Super Deluxe Edition: CD Edition) is around € 60,- (you have to click the promotion box).

  37. A few days ago I was tempted by the All Things Must Pass CD offer. But, before hitting the Purchase button, I realised the vinyl version (which I prefer to the CD) was “only” £100. I did not go for any of them at that moment and, I guess, that was a missed opportunity, as the vinyl I s £137 at the moment. So I’m seriously considering the CD version now, £48 is after all a very good price.
Can anyone confirm what’s the lowest the 8 LPs version has even been? Is £100 the cheapest?

    1. As I write this, it’s Saturday 13th August at 12.55pm BST and the offer is on. The price on the main page is from a third-party seller – look under ‘Other Sellers on Amazon’ and Amazon are selling it for 48.09GBP

  38. I keep this page open daily and refresh it throughout the day to read the comments; aside from Paul’s excellent ‘deals’ updates, it’s also great to pick up on the deals that other SDE readers have spotted. It’s extremely useful, albeit dangerous from a bank balance perspective!

    1. I agree Keith. I keep it open all the time. As well as Paul’s excellent deals, I have picked up so much from SDE readers. A nod to Matt D.

  39. Although not a deal as such the Big Country 3 LP set Without the aid of a safety net is just under £17 on Amazon UK. Seems like an excellent price to me….

  40. Not a deal per se, but the latest edition of Uncut magazine features a Wilco CD cover mount. All tracks by Wilco.

“A handy companion piece to Nonesuch’s mammoth 20th-anniversary Yankee… boxset, due in September, Cross-Eyed Strangers encompasses alternate studio takes, live tracks and Jeff Tweedy solo cuts, climaxing with the epic finale to their recent New York performance of the album”

  41. David Hepworths: Deep 70s – Underrated Cuts From A Misunderstood Decade (Amazon Exclusive Signed CD Edition) still available for £23.09. I bought a copy on release and its an excellent eclectic mix!

  42. David Bowie – Brilliant Adventure 18LP Vinyl Box Set back to a reasonable £237.26 on Amazon.co.uk at the moment, falling in increments. Many of other sellers currently over £300 and this is susceptible to the Amazon price bounce quite often.

  43. Last Friday night, lured by these amazing deals, I cracked and ordered Almost Famous S/T and the Bill Bruford box from Amazon. Very nice too. Early Saturday morning I came to my senses and realised that I’ve got absolutely no storage space for these, so with a heavy heart had to cancel them both. Bugger. Still wonderful prices though!

    1. Hi Simon,

the Bill Bruford box is only slightly higher and wider than a normal dvd keepcase and about 2,5 times as thick.
      No storage space?Really?

        1. I nearly bought it but backed out. Not because of lack of space – just because it’s a box set from a drummer and these have never been appreciated in my household….

  44. Grabbed “Dylan’s Springtime In New York: The Bootleg Series Vol. 16 (1980-1985) 5 cd deluxe edition” for 72€/62£ on Amazon Japan, shipping, VAT and taxes included.

  45. I’m unsure how many SDE Readers will be interested but the large format Take That Odyssey Greatest Hits Live (2 x CD, Blu-ray, DVD) is £3.54 on Amazon UK today …

  46. No sign of Dylan Springtime in New York for £65. It’s available for £66.01 plus £2.99 from a German seller but at risk of U.K. customs charges?

  47. Have been waiting for a price on the Dylan set for ages, as the original price of £129 was ridiculous.

It’s been hovering around £100 now for ages on eBay and Amazon.

It’s a better set than many expected so £66 is fair to me and ordered.
(Amazon have 13 left as of 10am today)
    Thanks Paul

  48. Really lovely prices on the Dylan Springtime In New York 5CD box – down to £66 and the 6CD Cutting Edge box – also down to £66 – on Amazon UK.

  49. Amazon are infuriating when it comes to applying VAT if you’re buying from outside the UK. On some of the items here e.g. the Nevermind box, the local VAT is calculated correctly when you proceed to checkout. On others e.g. Rory Gallagher, Almost Famous, it’s not and the difference in price is 4-5 times more than it should be. I bought the Rory Gallagher, but I got on to them asking why the price is higher after VAT than it should be, so far they’ve shown me calculations based on some price that the item is NOT for sale at, at least not anywhere I can see on the item page. Still better than trying to tell me there was some 8% VAT rate in the UK, which was the initial story I was told (don’t ask….), but I’m still waiting on them to explain where this random price is coming from.

    1. I have notice that myself recently, I live in Ireland and usually they will take off the UK vat of 20% then add Irish vat rate of 23% which is correct but if I go to buy say Brilliant Adventure box set by Bowie they seem to add another €40 from nowwhere. Happens on single albums as well but not all the time. Infuriating to say the least.

    2. I lost half a day of my life on the same thing. Talked to three different people each trying to pawn me off with a vat page. Then they tried to say the price displayed on Amazon is ex vat. I showed them examples of why it’s wrong. One item for 40 would checkout at 42, another item for 40 would checkout at 51…
Then they’d “escalate”, but no real answer. Something definitely wrong there

    3. In one of life’s small victories, Amazon have agreed to refund the difference between the price I was charged and the price on their site when I placed the order, putting me slightly ahead of the game as I’ve effectively been charged the UK price and not the price with Irish VAT applied (correctly). However, I can tell Amazon are doing this to get rid of me, rather than admit that there is an issue or they even understand the issue. From the tone of the replies I received, I’m pretty sure they still don’t get it.

Now, is it worth having the same fight over the Almost Famous box, I wonder……

    1. It’s actually only £11.99 at Assai and only £9.99 in my local HMV (although I only saw 1 copy on display). Feels like somebody is clearing a warehouse somewhere……

  50. Brian May’s Back to The Light Super Deluxe has a crazy price of $19.03 on Amazon US .
AUD 30.66 on Amazon AU (but not with free Prime shipping)

    1. Also still on Amazon UK, for a rather nice £37.03. Better than the £85, it’s still available for on queen online store. It is a very nice looking box, apart from the Gold Series Logo. Live at Brixton would be great next, please.

  51. Wow thanks Paul….. I could have brought every offer on this post, but the lack of funds I had to choose only one. As the wife said “if you could have only one, anyone regardless of cost, which would you choose”??? So after some thought I said “The Stones Tattoo you” seconds later she puts her iPad down saying “you got it” A very happy bunny I am now!

    1. You absolute star, brilliant spot on the Road Apples box, I never thought I’d see that kind of reduction on it, especially here in Europe!

Apparently the surround mix is rubbish, though

  52. Great price on Amazon at the moment for ‘It’s A Good, Good Feeling: The Latin Soul Of Fania Records’ 4xCD &1×7” box set. 40% off making it £21.50. Been wanting this for a while so had to pull that trigger.

Deal: It’s A Good, Good Feeling: The Latin Soul Of Fania Records (Various Ar tists) https://amzn.to/3P8Szmx

  53. Looks like the Amazon UK ATMP deal is over sadly – now showing as £98.78 – bit surprised it lasted as long as it did given the interest levels/orders generated here alone!

  54. After much dithering, I ended up going for the ATMP box, Tattoo You box and L A Woman.

Will add to the pile of new items to listen to.

  55. Wow just recieved ATMP super deluxe ( thanks Paul ) and it came in a box within a box not just a see through cellophane wrap with an address lable stuck on, are they finally pulling their finger out or are they still on a guilt trip for only offering us a Keraoke CD on the 48 hr prime deals the other week, who knows ?

  56. The Almost Famous 5CD Super Deluxe box set is down to £54 on Amazon UK. Think this started up near £100 not that long ago.

Anyway, super compilation on 3 of the CDs with the other two (a CD of Stillwater music and the score) an interesting diversion for big fans of the movie.

(The pared back 2CD edition is also £5.49 at the moment)

    https://amzn.to/3A65SQN

  57. Grrr, I was perfectly happy settling for the 3-disc version of ATMP, but that price is too good to pass up. With that and the Little Feat set from rarewaves, expensive week, even if they were incredible bargains!

  58. Thanks for the heads up on the Stones price drop. Now just Sticky Fingers to go!

I wish I wanted George H enough at that kind of price drop!!

  59. Not a deal (yet), but Mark Knopfler – The Studio Albums 2008-2018 has just been announced on CD and vinyl. “A follow up to The Studio Albums 1996-2007 release in October 2021, is a second collection of Mark Knopfler studio albums, including Get Lucky (2009), Privateering (2012), Tracker (2015) and Down The Road Wherever(2018) plus a collection of studio b-sides and bonus tracks and two previously unreleased songs – ‘Back In The Day’ and ‘Precious Voice From Heaven’. Audio has been overseen by original mastering engineer Bob Ludwig at Gateway Mastering”. Released 7 October 2022. I really enjoyed the first set, not being familiar with his solo material, so looking forward to this.

  60. Wow, after a lean few weeks there are some real bargains.Been watching All Things Must Pass for months as I couldn’t warrant £80-£100 for the small 5 CD box but at £48 it’s a steal.
Also bagged Tattoo You 4CD/LP Box and the Eric Clapton 4 CD which at £16 is a real bargain .

Thanks for the alerts Paul and the ever wonderful site and unboxing videos.

  61. On Rough trade site
    JAPAN – QUIET LIFE boxset 34,99 £
    The Rolling Stones – Goats Head Soup (2020) 4 LP 49.99 €
Talking Heads – Fear of Music Black vinyl 19.99£

  62. Hot on the tail of the All Things Must Pass, just looked at my Amazon wishlist and found the Stones Tattoo You super deluxe 4CD/1LP set is down to £37.60 and the Pistols 76/77 is down to £19.31!

  63. Manic Street Preachers, Gold against the Soul, deluxe at £16 at Rarewaves UK. Also had The Clash, London Calling 2cd, £19 and Bob Dylan 1966 live recording £57, Trouble no more £100. MSP absolute bargain at this price.

  64. Finally…a decent price for the George Harrison deluxe set. Purchased.
Wish they’d stop with the re-releases of albums with bonus tracks tagged on, I’d much rather buy a box of outtakes, Beatles/Lennon Anthology style & get a whole set with unreleased tracks.

  65. Out of curiosity, is there a reason why my comment at lunchtime mentioning the All Things Must Pass deal didn’t get published and it just got added as a deal alert instead? I only ask as it’s happened a couple of times now – obviously this is your site Paul and you deserve all our thanks 24 hours a day so the glory remains entirely yours but I just wondered how it works.

      1. Ah no worries, thought perhaps I just wasn’t doing it right!

In an age when everything seems to be going up in price at least some box sets are getting cheaper (albeit ones that were arguably overpriced in the first place!)

  66. Thanks for the heads up on the All things must pass CD boxset price drop, that’s some deal, £108 down to £48 so just ordered one, wasn’t prepared to pay the ridiculous price they wanted originally for it as already have the Uber box and the coloured vinyl boxset and it is such a small boxset but £48 is a good reasonable price, thanks again.

  67. ‘Memoriesofgreen’ beat me to the “That’s more like it”. Some of the previous GH CD box sets were announced at silly prices but they soon dropped to something reasonable before release. I’ve ordered it now but was unwilling to pay £100 for something I already have, albeit before the remix. (I even had most of the outtakes on bootlegs.)

  68. Just ordered The Rolling Stones ‘Tattoo You’ Super Deluxe Box Set 4xCD & 1LP from Amazon for £37.60. Reduction of £31 from yesterday’s price!

    1. Just ordered! Rushed to make a comment, then read your comment! (I should have read the comments before posting, haha!). I stuck this on my wishlist, hoping this day would come, knowing the Goats Head Soup had come down to similiar.

      1. I did exactly the same thing, had it in my wish list for months. HMV still selling for £99 so a real bargain. My copy arriving this afternoon. Enjoy!

Bought Goats Head Soup Box set under similar deal

    1. Agreed, and ordered – thanks Paul – now let’s get the ‘Let It Be’ 6 disc Super Deluxe set below £50 too! (Rough Trade UK had it at £69.99 this week, but I’m sticking to my ‘no-more-than-£50-for-this-one’ and am encouraged by the ATMP deal so will keep waiting).

  69. The price drops that started on Amazon UK on Monday have carried on and there are some absolutely FANTASTIC deals…

Frank Zappa – The Mothers 1971 CD box has dropped to £41

    Frank Zappa – 200 Motels 50th Anniversary 6CD box is £54

Brian May’s Another World [Sky Blue Coloured VINYL + 2CD Boxset] is £37

Nirvana – Nevermind 5CD/BR is £48 (this is a STUNNINGLY good price)

    Rory Gallagher – Rory Gallagher 50th 4CD/DVD is £38.50

Eric Clapton – Eric Clapton 50th 4CD set is £16.80

Rolling Stones – Tattoo You Super Deluxe 4CD/LP is £37

U2 All That You Can’t Leave Behind 5CD box is £48

Sex Pistols – 76-77 is down to £19 (bit peaved at this one because I went for it at £35 the other day)

    1. Thanks for the heads up on these – an expensive day, Tattoo You, Nevermind, ATMP & Pretenders – all of which I’d been holding off pulling the trigger on. Now let’s hope Amazon pack them in something more than cling film…

    2. Thanks for that. I commented above about the Stones and Pistols, should have read your comment first! Now I might have to look at the Rory Gallagher set!

    1. Ordered Buenos Aires yesterday, last night notified dispatched, today refunded and told due to ‘faulty goods’. Suspect they ran out of stock.

      1. Not silly – navigating around eBay is an absolute faff. Useless user experience if you’re trying to shop by particular sellers.

Try this link – it’s a pre-filtered search for all their music box sets (though the deal is on anything, I believe, as long as you spend £15 with them). You can either scan right through here, add more filters or use the search box just below the main header if you want to find something in particular.
        https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/11233/i.html?_dkr=1&iconV2Request=true&_ssn=musicmagpie&store_name=musicmagpieshop&_oac=1&_nkw=box+sets&rt=nc&LH_ItemCondition=3

      2. Click the 15% icon at the top of the page, and you’ll find a list of companies that offer the reduction. There in alphabetical order, scroll down and you’ll see MusicMagpie.

    1. For fans of Black Box Recorder, HMV are offering their CD box set for £14.99 as part of their Flash50 online promotion! I picked this up yesterday, but know that stock was limited…

  70. Loads of moderate price drops on Amazon UK (some of these have been cheaper but still, decent prices).

Frank Zappa – The Mothers 1971 is £58.22
Brian May – Back To The Light 2CD/LP is £48.76
    Nirvana – Nevermind 5CD/BR is £68.53
Rory Gallagher – Rory Gallagher 4CD/DVD is £56.44
    Sex Pistols – 76-77 4CD is £36.93

  71. Just released Little Feat ‘Waiting for Columbus’ 8cd Box is up for £54.59 on Rarewaves.

I hesitated for about 2 seconds before ordering. £25 cheaper than Amazon.

    1. That’s a bargain. I got mine from Badlands a little bit cheaper than the Dodgers (Amazon) but nowhere near the price you paid. However I’ve no regrets, I’ve been playing mine since yesterday, all day today it’s feckin’ fabulous and worth double the price I paid. Especially as I was at the Manchester show, I remembered very little until playing CDs 3&4 brought back such great memories. You are in for a treat Linky.

  72. Well I had recently cancelled the new House of Love Burn Down the World box cuz of budgeting…it was almost $80 US…and I would reorder it today or soon…good thing I did cuz the price dropped by almost HALF…to $46 and change!! Promptly reordered!!

  73. Steven Wilson’s (sort of an) autobiography ‘Limited Edition Of One’ is available in its SDE (including a bonus book AND an exclusive cd with lots of commercially not available recordings from SW’s archive) from burningshed.com with a 20% discount (60£), due to small dents in the cover of these items.

    https://burningshed.com/store/headphonedust/steven-wilson_limited-edition-of-one-special-edition_book?filter_tag=Limited%20Edition%20Of%20One&filter_category_id=891

  74. Super price on the Black Francis 07-11 9CD box set – down to £35 on Amazon UK. That’s half its starting price from last year (and the point where I finally bit the bullet).

Big week for Pixies and me – the Brixton CD box set from the Rough Trade sale on Monday, now Frank Black’s solo box! Lovely.

    1. Missed the Brixton CD Box Set with Rough Trade – great price – have signed up for a notification if they find one somewhere – fingers crossed! As an aside, not too sure about the pricing for the just-announced Joe Strummer 002 box (4 CDs for £65 three of which are remastered Mescaleros albums so only one disc of rarities) – hope the price comes down a bit.

  75. After having a bit of a moan all week about the non-appearing corrected Elton John ‘Madman’ blu ray – hey presto, it comes today! For those wondering, it was shipped in a regular blue blu ray plastic case inside a jiffy bag. So credit where it’s due, thanks UMC for listening and not mucking up the shipping like so many others. Buy the cheapo set and get your replacement disc.

  76. 25% off the 25th anniversary 8LP box set of Notorious B.I.G’s Life After Death on Amazon UK, down to £148 (nicely presented but still pricey that one).

Fleetwood Mac Live 3CD back down to £11.99

    Oasis Knebworth 1996 2CD/DVD is £11

Rolling Stones Bigger Bang Live On Copacabana Beach 2CD/DVD/BR is £30 (think that’s the cheapest it’s been)

  77. Ordered the Bruford set from Amazon a couple of weeks ago – it was missing the first disk (the second was included twice), so I sent it back for a replacement. That had the same issue so, despite it being a good box at a great price, I reluctantly gave up and asked for a refund.

      1. Now I have a dilemma – do I risk it again? Still not had a refund for the first two sets, despite returning them more than a week ago.

  78. Neil Young Official Release Series Discs 13, 14, 20 & 21 is £31 on Amazon US.

I suspect this box will drop everywhere now that the Eldorado CD has a standalone release on the way, as it was the only reason to get it in the first place.

    1. I recently found the ORS3 box on Amazon US for like $66…it shipped from Amazon Japan…not numbered but I’ll live…just arrived, they packaged it in a bigger box than expected, prob for protection…all I need left of the ORS boxes is #2 with albums 5-8, wait for pricedrop cuz TFA is getting available standalone…as for #1, don’t need it, waiting on Harvest 50…when is that coming??
