  1. Liam Gallagher’s Collector Edition of Why Me Why Not reduced to just £19.99 from £49.99 on Warners’ store….I think this album is a return to form, and you get quite a lot in the package as below:

  3. my daughter lives in Belgium so I just ordered the box set. I couldn’t get to do it in pounds, so will get an additional charge I think, but still an excellent buy.

  5. For what it’s worth – in the HMV Norwich Chapel Field mall today, 17 Aug – in the sale, Tears for Fears super deluxe boxes: 3 copies Songs From Big Chair £29.99, 1 copy of The Hurting £24.99 – near the entrance! Hope that helps someone!

  7. Not sure where to post this but I was in HMV yesterday and looking at the Jeff Russo vinyl of The Umbrella Academy on “limited edition” of 500. The odd thing is that it was numbered 509 of 500. Is the actual limited number 5000! Is this another indication that you need to take limited edition with a pinch of salt. Great album by the way.

    1. Yep, I was going to buy this in my local HMV in King’s Lynn, Norfolk. Picked up the record, saw it was numbered 512 of 500, thought ‘stuff that’, bought a Zappa album instead.

  9. Fyi any Angelenos and US folks here; Barnes and Noble is having a big 50% off vinyl sale in store only I believe. some good stuff Kate bush before the dawn, Weller, A kind revolution…recent Macca, Many more.

  10. Popped into HMV Uxbridge to get the Bowie Let’s Dance blue vinyl, got the Small Faces Green & Madness Black/White too. Seems to be a pattern with HMV stock reported here, I got the REM Monster box for £29.99 & TFF SFTBC for £29.99 also, a guy in front of me bought a single copy of all the limited vinyls, he spent about £400, no doubt reselling on eBay.

    1. I really don’t understand HMV. I’m sure they did well today but will have alienated customers who tried to buy some of these releases online at 6 P.M. tonight(web site crashing, items sold before 6 p.m. etc) I know these in store deals are to increase footfall but to what end, people have been reporting TFF SFTBC for £29.99 in HMV for weeks so they aren’t selling that fast. They have 13 TFF items on their website and 9 are sold out. If I wanted to buy an item e,g. a DVD from CEX they could tell me where everyone of their copies was and in which stores, and I could order it online as long as one shop had a copy. Compare that with HMV online most items listed out of stock, ludicrous flash sales… You can only check stock in store by phone! They must realize that a lot of people cannot get or go to a store, their futures online and on the line surely.

    2. I can’t seem to order from Amazon nl and don’t understand the message why (no English translation available). Any ideas what the problem could be?

  13. I recently cancelled my Sign of the Times SDE pre-order as September was looking so expensive.

    I was thinking I’d pick this up later in the year, or add it to my Christmas wish list. But I just had to lock this price in.

    September Is a crazyly good month for music fans.

    Cant buy anything from Amazon EU, UK, USA and have it delivered to Australia!
    It Really, Really stinks!! All because of Amazons attitude to TAX!!!!!!!

    I was waiting for September, but now it´s great to see this price. Of course I have to make choices but this is already ordered!

  22. I thought the RRP was pretty reasonable and was going to pull the trigger at some point but this is a no-brainer… Like the fact that the review in Uncut bemoans some apparent formating and spelling errors in the booklet :o)

  23. For those of us in the USof A this is one heck of a deal. With shipping it will run around $68 while the amazon US price is $129.99 plus tax – so being good at numbers and stuff, its half rpice right now to ship from the old country
