    1. What a deal! I already have let’s say around half of these, but in stereo. It’ll be nice to get into the other albums and check the mono versions too. Cheers.

  1. Still very expensive in my opinion but Amazon uk have Joni Mitchell’s archives vol. 4 vinyl box set ( 4lp) down to £84 from previous price of £109.

  2. Pimk Floyd – Animals – Remix Dolby Atmos (Bluray) at 18€ in amazon SpainVarious CDs of Pink FLoyd at 9 € in amazon Spain
Bob Dylan – Mixing Up The Medicine CD at 3€ in amazon Spain

  3. I don’t know if this affects anybody else here but I just got word that my Aphrodite’s Child 666 box is on its way from FNAC, so fingers crossed….

    1. Yeah just got email from FNAC about 20 minutes ago saying it is being delivered tomorrow, £35 payment was taken yesterday (Wednesday). Hope you receive the same.

    2. Mine turned up on release date. £30.75 including postage. Must’ve been a pricing error but, credit where it’s due, they honoured it. Now €74.99.

  4. Grateful dead American beauty 50th anniversary 3cd digipack £9.68 on rarewaves uk through eBay. The price contains a 10% off voucher which expires on 8th November.

  5. Amazon Italy is currently selling on pre-order,the triple vinyl expanded edition of Pet Shop Boys’ latest album Nonetheless at just under 22 Euros ( about £21 ).On Amazon UK it’s currently £64.Best of luck if you can get a copy.

    1. Thanks for this missed R.E.M. one but kept an eye on it and got it 2 days later for judt uner £11 and just arrived. Great extra Xmas pressie for myself as one one of my fave albums.

  6. looks as if this release has bombed but a very good price on Amazon UK for the 2nd Robert Plant/Alison Krauss double album “Raise the Roof” on red vinyl at onlv £12.72.

    1. Yeah I think that’s a very good deal for it as I bought it when it was released and good though it is, Raising Sand is the far better album by a long stretch. I think the 2nd one suffers from 2 things, one the great expectations following Raising Sand of what might happen next and also they left it too long between doing Raising Sand and following it up because I believe there was a conflict of interest between the 2 of them in so far I think Alison Krauss wanted to do another one sooner but Plant wasn’t as immediately interested as he wanted to go off and do his own thing which is understandable but I think in my opinion that’s why it’s the weaker of the 2 albums though despite that it is worth a listen. If you liked that you should seek out his Band Of Joy album which is the one he did in a similar vein in between the 2 albums with Krauss. It’s excellent and I saw him perform that album along with a few Led Zeppelin numbers in Belfast way back when.

  7. A couple of nice ones on Amazon UK:

Cat Stevens Mona Bone Jakon Super Deluxe 4CD/1BR/LP/12”/Book at £36.03 (available via SDE link).

Bob Dylan Mixing Up The Medicine book (608 page hardback) at a ridiculous £29.72 (63% off).

  8. For any John mayall fans Hard Road vinyl LP, with Peter green, John mcvie & Ainsley Dunbar, £7.62 at rarewaves uk also for Joni fans Archives vol 4 box set is £60.34 though stock is low.

  9. David Bowie’s divine symmetry 4cd + Blu-ray box set £72.20 new and sealed postage free through eBay seller. 4 available should it be of interest to anyone.

    1. Yep! I got the Doors Live in Sweden one which on the day ie RSD April 24 I bought on CD as the vinyl version was close to £75 at my local record store and thanks to the Spindizzy sale I got it for £42 delivered to my house which is en route as we speak. If anyone does want that particular one my advice is get in quick because there were 14 left as of when I bought mine. I’m hoping the live Doors one called Live in Detroit that’s coming out for Black Friday gets a similar reduction eventually as unlike in previous years there is no CD version just vinyl and the 4 LP set is a minimum of £82. It was out on CD many years ago but as it’s never been repressed on CD, CD versions are anywhere between £25-£50 which whilst I haven’t ruled out a second hand copy through discogs of the same as it is cheaper than the vinyl I would prefer to see if the vinyl version gets a reduction long after the day itself has passed which I’m hopeful it will.

  10. On Friday 18.10.24 reissue of the Dire Straits “Making movies” will be released. Amazon.de sells it for the very good price of 18,50€ .

It was cut at half speed and has a special cover (colours on the cover reversed).

    1. Received mine today with a very good packaging from Amazon ( incredible !! ).
A very good deal at 18,50 euros, amazing sound, good artwork with the big half speed
mastering certificate, item made in France !
      Thank U JueRie.

  11. Bob Dylan’s The Cutting Edge 6 CD box set is a staggering £25 on Amazon UK. Spotted at 9AM Monday morning so I expect stock to go soon!

    1. Can’t say I’m surprised by the markdown. The reason to buy this is the book that’s part of the set, since no one but the most devoted Dylan fans and scholars will want to listen to multiple takes of the same track over and over. I’d be surprised if anyone who buys the set actually listens to disc 3 more than once (it consists of 20 consecutive versions of “Like A Rolling Stone”). On the other hand, it’s more concise than the 18 cd version.

  12. Those like me who have been waiting on a reduction on Robert Palmer’s 9CD Island Record Years may be in luck, Rough Trade have it for £49.99 plus postage down from 85ish, though they aren’t taking payments on the order yet… Chalkys / Amazon have it at £69.

  13. Received my Lennon boxset today from amazon.de, there was a ridiculous age sticker on the artwork (age ‘0’ – can it be more ridiculous). Normally it’s easy to remove these, but now this part is full of glue left on the artwork. Is there a way, to remove the glue residu without ruining the artwork. The hype sticker was on the seal, why was the age sticker on the artwork? Are these stickers also on the UK box sets?

    1. Hi There
Use Isopropyl Alcohol dip cotton bud in small amount dab in affected area cardboard paper sleeve mop up any excess with tissue. Use WD40 & kitchen roll on plastic cd jewel cases to erase remove sticky glue patches

  14. A couple of random offers, the Beatles let it be 5cd + Atmos Blu-ray box set £38.70 on rarewaves uk and Eric Clapton 50th anniversary 4cd box £14.86 on Amazon uk.

  15. Bought a couple of the deals on Amazon & learnt again that their customer service can be so random. One item had gone down £5 a few hours after i ordered & they refused to refund the difference & said i should return the original order & reorder again at the lower price. The next day a £200 box set went down £40 while in transit to me (and arrived a day late)- i emailed customer service to see about refunding the difference & complaining about the days delay (as they said i had to sign for the parcel so i wasted a day waiting for it & it then arrived the next day) & expected the same return/reorder experience – the customer service advisor refunded me the entire £200 for the item for my inconvenience. SO random & i guess it shows that you should always complain if you’re not happy with something – even if it’s total pot luck as to what response you’ll get !

  16. Rarewaves are having a ‘flash sale’ running for a few days, across many genres and formats, eg Lee Perry King Scratch 2CD for £7.20, Soft Cell Happiness Not Included CD for a very specific £4.24, ‘Klark Kent’ ( Stewart Copeland) green RSD vinyl for under £16, Small Faces magenta vinyl under £17, plus loads of other stuff. Most of it much cheaper than Amazon bar a couple of weird exceptions (like the Klark Kent deluxe 2CD)

  17. Thanks all for posting the deals. The past few years Prime Day didn’t generate any substantial deals but this year it certainly did.
As of the time of writing, Amazon US still has some decent deals going. Some of them:
-Steve Miller Band- Joker vinyl box down to $62
    -R.E.M. – New Adventures In Hi-Fi 2cd/blu-Ray down to $19

  18. I love SDE; so classy, and I’m always finding new stuff to buy.
Finally got my Police/Synchronicity 6CD box after agreeing to buy at £74.99 and have the difference back to £29.40 refunded.
In the meantime I’d had 2 x £10 Amazon Gift Cards for inconvenience.
So, in the end, the purchase price was £9.40.

Outside of Amazon, EBay, SDE and Discogs, I seem to find the best deals at these: Rarewaves, Chalkys and Fishpond.
Would love to hear any advice on other decent sites; particularly for box sets.

Thanks again, Paul, for such a wonderful site. I’m here several times a day.

  19. Thank you so much Paul (as usual). I snapped up Fugazi for £22.40 and see this morning that Amazon have put it up to £54.99. A fantastic bargain which I’m very pleased with!

  20. I ordered the Midge Ure and War box sets. (Why isn’t War listed on the Amazon American store since Rhino is a Burbank-based company?? It ended up being US $50 from UK)

Inexplicably, the Yes SDE Fragile was back up to UK 85 with Prime Day in full swing after it was UK 57. Amazon America has it for $72.79 (non-Prime Day SRP)

Re: Faces at the BBC: Weren’t all the sessions from this era recorded in mono? As interested as I am by this release, I don’t want to necessarily watch a Blu-ray video in mono for US $119. That does not compute.

  21. Gilmour Luck and Strange deluxe down to £81 on Amazon UK prime deal but only till midnight. Am passing as think it will drop more at some point.

  22. thanks ! Picked up the The Band Stage Fright and went for Songs From Big Pink also (down to 72 USD). Both free shipping to NZ so saved $54 USD !

  23. “Prime Day”???!!!??? I bought the Police Synchronicity box for £74.99 TWO DAYS AGO (Oct 7th) from amazon.co.uk. How odd it should be the SAME “bargain price” for today? I thought it used to be illegal for companies to pretend they have dropped prices for sales. How times have changed.

I spend a fortune with them but I think amazon are a horrible company from the way they treat their delivery drivers who have personally told me they are “scared” of not meeting their ridiculous targets to the supposedly “happy” warehouse workers to the appalling customer service (if you can find the number to call when they screw up an order which is tbf rare). A pal of mine worked for them at a high level as an IT consultant and said it was the worst and most pressured job he had ever done with them monitoring his private communications!

    1. You can get a discount on it if you find two other similarly priced items (probably unlikely I know) and use the Target 2-for-3 sale going on through 10/12. Decent amount of CDs on there and lots of movies to choose from.

  24. Prince – Purple Rain (40th Anniversary Edition) 4k + Digital $17 on AMZ US (28% off $24 list price)
This is the film not the album, was released in June.

  25. Amazon UK:

Hawkwind – X in Search of Space CD/Blu Ray box set down to £40.61

    Trevor Rabin – Rio CD/Blu Ray – £6.78

    Yes – The Quest CD/Blu Ray Artbook – £8.13 ( listed as CD/Vinyl, is CD/Blu Ray)

  26. The John Lennon Mind Games CD box is £87 on Amazon DE too.

I’d argue that Amazon DE has the best offers today. Loads of random little deals

The Alternate Collection by Fleetwood Mac is £22

Nirvana Nevermind Super Deluxe is £27

Cranberries – To The Faithful Departed 3CD is £8.71

    Dexy’s Too-Rye-Ay 40th remix 3CD is £20

  27. Amazed how none of these show when you go into the cd & vinyl section in the prime day sale area. I thought the choices this year were horrible due to that. Thanks for finding these… However you managed it.

  28. (Copied across from Bargains thread)

There are some decent Prime Day deals on amazon uk, they just make them hard to find (all cds) :

    Dannii Minogue – Neon Nights 2cd £3.57
Teenage Fanclub – Nothing lasts forever £3.29
REM – Chronic Town EP £4.60
    Midge Ure – The Gift 4cd £18.03
Elvis Costello – Spanish Model £1.63
Cat Stevens – Mona Bone Jakon £1.97
Tina Turner – Queen of Rock n Roll 3cd £5.19

  29. Pink Floyd deal worked to US as well despite me not being a prime member in the UK. Ended up $60.00 compared to $105.00 on amazon.com. Nice.

  30. These deals are for all not only for Prime Members. I am not a Prime Member.
There are other deals on amazon.de. But I have not recognised how can I discover all.
    I ordered:
Def Leppards Pyromania Boxset for 49€

They have the U2 EP – Zoo Tv Live in Dublin CD 13,49 and Vinyl 24,49
    The Faces – BBC Boxset 111 €

    1. Thanks for the information, Mirko! Finally managed to grab some of the stuff that was “burning under my fingernails” ;) for a decent price!
