Bio

I've been going to concerts since I was 12 years old (in 1974). I saw Led Zeppelin 5 days after my 13th birthday, and it changed my life! A few weeks later, I saw Jethro Tull and watched the encore (Locomotive Breath!) standing on the side of the stage, and got to meet the band backstage. I'll never forget the look on Ian Anderson's face, it was like "what the f*ck are these kids doing back here". Oh the memories! In 1977, when I was 15, my sister lived 4 blocks from Madison Square Garden, so I spent that summer going to shows at The Garden and staying at my sister's apartment. It was a great summer for live music. The Eagles Hotel California tour (3rd row!), Led Zeppelin (2nd time!), Pink Floyd, Peter Frampton, Yes, among others. I finished that summer by seeing the Grateful Dead at Englishtown, NJ (Dick's Picks Vol. 15). It still brings a smile to my face. I've been to around 2000 concerts over 45+ years, and have somewhere between 7,000 and 10,000 CDs. I also have 3 TB of digital music, mostly bootleg recordings. My wife is very understanding! I'm obsessed with collecting music, and have been for decades. I don't really love digital music, as I'd rather have a physical product, and will buy the physical product 99% of the time. I know I'm a relic, but... I think people here at SDE can understand!
