  1. I received mine today (I’m in the US). I can’t thank Paul enough for the super fast shipping. I will order a lot more thru the store here in the future.

  2. Did other people get the I Feel Love CD Single with their order from SDE? Mine was missing and I ordered when the link went live, so I didn’t miss out.

    1. Just checking that you knew the CD single was included with the bundle, not the stand-alone blu-ray. It will state in your order details on the website if it was part of your order. If your order was for the bundle with the single but didn’t get the CD single then I suggest you contact theSDEShop.

      1. Yes, it was the bundle that I ordered. I have contacted the SDE shop but have not heard back yet. I see someone on another forum who didn’t get theirs either.

          1. Cheers Paul, I did do that and got a reply from the lovely Ella who said she would send one out to me.

  3. Both the SDE BR-A and the 5 disc set have the Ages of Consent for 1984 and for 2024. As well as Maximum Sentences for countries that still criminalise homosexuality in 2024.

    1. The single version used in the US is different. It’s just a 4 minute edit of the LP version. I think this edit (with a different intro) was a promo only.

  4. Wow, the bundle arrived three days early, thank you Paul and all of your helpings shopsters!
I only could take a small “run through” all the included material of the blu-ray and I’m very satisfied, this took about an hour, but it really was only a small one, that much of music and formats what is included.
A completely satisfying release. The only small thing is using a different case, not the “pure audio”.

    …. then I did a small listening on the “I feel love”-bonus.
And no time for the boxset left, to see all the content is already mouthwatering.
I put the 2 2-cd-boxsets, the 90s remaster and my 80s CDs next to the CD/DVD-set to explore all that the next days.
It will be a very Bronski Week, though I didn’t even listen to the new Propaganda album, that also turned up.

  5. “After I submitted my mix, Jimmy Somerville asked me if I could include a few more lyrics from the original song. I had recently watched a Pet Shop Boys’ documentary where Neil Tennant read some of his lyrics, which moved me to tears.
I imagined Neil speaking these lyrics, creating a powerful contrast.

I left Neil a voicemail on my way to a gig abroad and by the time I reached Heathrow, I had his vocals on my phone, added them to the track on my flight, and played it that night!

It is a great honour to work on this iconic song with two legends who were lifelines to me while growing up gay in a small town.” – DJ Tom Stephan

The Superchumbo mix of Why? featuring Neil Tennant arrives this Wednesday, August 7th. Pre-save now: bronskibeat.lnk.to/WhyMix

  6. I have finally caught up on these posts and I have to say why would you bother coming to a site that mainly has content about reissues??? If you do not understand why fans buy these reissues you really should go elsewhere.
Secondly, if you do not like Bronski Beat or their incredible album The Age Of Consent why bother adding your blah, blah, blah of dislike. Why waste your time? Focus on the artist you love and leave us Bronski fans to enjoy this exciting 40th anniversary celebration of the masterpiece that is The Age Of Consent.

      1. Can anyone confirm exactly where I can buy the 2024 stereo remix on CD? Is this included in the SD box set or only in the 2CD version? Thank you :-)

          1. Thank you for confirming Paul, that’s much appreciated & helps me choose the versions to order.

      2. Ooops. My bad. My eyes keep skipping excitedly to the list of mixes on the Blu-ray. I love Blu-rays with lots of mixes. The TFF and Paul Young have hours of listening on them. I always feel disappointed with just an Atmos and Stereo mix.

Looks like Wrench has a lot of mixing experience and I hope he uses the surround speakers to their fullest. With synths there’s no expectation of where a sound can come from. I hope that the stereo mixes are not brickwalled.

  7. This is one of my top 5 favorite albums and I am very excited to get the atmos and surround treatment on the blu ray. I’m also thrilled to see the DJ edit of I Feel Love on the CD single, which looks like it might be the same version as the one I have on the 7″ picture disc. As far as I know that has been the only place to get it. I’m also looking forward to hearing the US dance mixes of Run From Love and Smalltown Boy. Those are great things to find in the archives!

  8. Bought the bundle as soon as I saw the post (that’s two bundles in a row now from SDE!). The only additional thing I could have wished for the SDE Blu-ray would be the 12” mixes. The 12” of Smalltown Boy is one of the best 8 mins of music ever made IMO. In multichannel it would have been even more amazing.

  9. Ordered by me, too, despite, as many people have mentioned, being the fourth time to buy this. Love love the album, but hope this is the “definitive” version….
I went for the 4CD set, since I have no setup to play blu-ray stuff. Also went with the SDE shop, because I want to support it, and aside from that, Amazon UK is MORE expensive (including postage)!!!! Go SDE!!!!

  10. Hi Paul,

As mentioned earlier in this thread by SDE member Zoomquist, there is an original 1985 version from I Feel Love that hasn’t been commercially issued on CD to this day, the so called “Limited Edition Dub Version”. To date, this 8:58 version remains promo-only and vinyl-only, and has only been issued on the B-side of a London Records promo 12inch single; see Discogs for more information: https://www.discogs.com/release/3315700-Bronski-Beat-I-Feel-Love

Here comes my question. You managed last year to get Chrysalis willing to add two mixes to Paul Hardcastle’s 19 International EP exclusive CD single in a matter of weeks…

…Would there be a chance for you to ask London Records whether they still have the/a master of I Feel Love (Limited Edition Dub Version), and be willing to add this rare version to the SDE exclusive CD single (or as replacement of a version already featured on the box set, if it has been agreed to limit the amount of tracks to six)?

    1. Hi bertielego

I can only agree with you, such a great one Dub-Mix must be published. I wouldn’t mind if the whole promo 12” was released on CD, I would buy it immediately.

    2. Hello bertielego

Could it be that the instrumental fruit mix (8:27) of ‘I Feel Love’ hasn’t made it onto CD yet either?
This is included on the side-B of the official 12″ of ‘I Feel Love‘ (Cake Mix).

  11. This looks fantastic. Like others, this will be the 3rd CD version of TAoC that I’ve purchased….but I did so from the SDE shop without hesitation.

Paul – I sent you an e-mail about modifying my order, if possible.

  12. Hi Paul,
I finally take the time to thank you for this fantastic double exclusive: a blu-ray audio with unprecedented richness of content, and a lovely collectable CD single! I ordered two bundles, one for me, one for a good friend of mine – and in the process save on shipping.

Would it be possible for you to add the track durations from the blu-ray audio?
This would help to identify notably whether:

1.Smalltown Boy (Absolute. Rework) is the short or the extended version.
2.Smalltown Boy (Planningtorock’s ‘The Love That You Need’ Rework) is the short or the extended version.
3.Infatuation / Memories is the full 12inch version or the slight edit originally featured on the CD version from Hundred & Thousands (as well as on the SDE exclusive Smalltown Boy CD single).
4.I Feel Love (Medley) is the “Cake Mix” like on the 2nd CD of both 2xCD set and 4xCD+DVD box set, or another version.
5.Cadillac Car is the short or the extended version.

Similarly, could you add the durations of the box set tracks.
    This would particularly help to:

a.Identify whether Infatuation / Memories is the full 12inch version.
b.Suggest whether some of the advertised tracks on CD4 may have actually been previously released on the 2018 2xCD expanded edition (Crazy Maraquitta; The Other Side of the Tracks; etc.)

  13. I only just bought my first copy of this two years ago, but the blu-ray is an instant purchase for me. I have no surround, as I lack the space for it, but even the stereo content here is fantastic, and David Wrench’s version of Erasure’s Sometimes leads me to expect great things from these new mixes, with fingers crossed that they survive their time in the mastering room. With Lament announced last month, this is turning into a great summer for SDE blu-ray editions.

    1. That’s the beauty of blu’s the stereo options are top drawer and the atmos will drop down regardless of setup. No way can I afford atmos as tend to blow speakers on a semi regular basis. But even on this average system you really do notice the difference. Moby’s Reprise let alone a certain Mr Wilson’s Future Bites are superb cases in point. Also for me personally any CD I put on my iTunes library if I copy if via the lossless option that too has made a great difference in sound quality. No audiophile obviously but it all helped and made a hell of an improvement in sound quality. Till the next speakers blow that is…

  14. Thanks Paul, ordered without hesitation. Like many of the folks on here, I have also bought various versions over the years. The Smalltown Boy promo video is one of the best from the era. I look forward to hearing the surround versions.

If anyone is interested in listening to surround music in a car, I came across this thread which explains how it can be done. I’m sure it won’t be long before manufacturers will bring out Dolby Atmos car units.
    https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/how-to-listen-to-surround-audio-in-your-car-including-dsd-and-dolby-atmos.1205758/#post-34845971

Lastly, have you listened to the new Travis album in Dolby Atmos? Just needs a blu-ray release.

  15. Blimey, these are coming thick and fast (and great) at the moment. My bank manager asks for a slight delay before the next one please. Unless it’s Frankie Goes To Hollywood…..

  16. Telling my children what kind of music we used to listen to back then makes me sometimes feel like Lorraine McFly speaking of the Enchantement Under the Sea Dance! But what fun we had then!
Wanted to order the blu ray only for the instrumental versions and the 5.1 mix (hoping that unlike AV’s Forever Young this is a more discrete surround mix) but the content of the deluxe set is very interesting. The bundle seems to contain everything that was done by Bronski Beat with Jimmy as a singer so it will be my final choice. Plus we’ll get the opportunity, maybe, to see young Paul with his FRANKIE SAYS or CHOOSE LIFE t-shirt!
Thank you Paul for these SDE exclusives!

  17. Cds are a bit of a rip off. Was really interested in the 5 cd box set which I thought was all inclusive, but then noticed to get the 2024 remixes with Neil Tennant and Perfume Genius you also have to also buy the 2 x cd version as they are not included.

  18. I have just one question/doubt: the Why? (Superchumbo Mix ft Neil Tennant) is an exclusive track of the SDE bluray and the doble CD only? Because I can’t see it in the tracklist of the 4CD+DVD edition.
If yes, to have this featuring with Neil Tennant on CD, we must also purchase the double CD ( in addition to the bundle, if someone like me bought it…).
I’m curious to know your opinion.
    xx

      1. On other recordstore online I’ve found this tracklist for the CD1 of the 4CD+1DVD edition:

        Disc One
        1. Why?
        2. It Ain’t Necessarily So
        3. Screaming
        4. No More War
        5. Love And Money
        6. Smalltown Boy
        7. Heatwave
        8. Junk
        9. Need A Man Blues
        10. I Feel Love / Johnny Remember Me
        11. Smalltown Boy (Absolute. Extended Rework)
        12. Smalltown Boy (Planningtorock’s ‘The Love That You Need’ Rework)
        13. Smalltown Boy (Dave Audé Vs Tall Paul Remix) *
        14. Why? (Superchumbo Mix Ft. Neil Tennant) *
        15. Smalltown Boy (The Knocks & Bronski Beat Ft Perfume Genius) *

So there are hopes that this remix will be available in this edition… I really hope so :)
If anyone has any more precise information I would be happy to know.

        Thanks Paul!

          1. Please note that this is the tracklist of the first CD contained in the 4CD+1DVD edition, as reported on a famous web record shop (I don’t know if it is ethically correct to report the link, which is why I avoided it).
Which however is not reported on the official BB website and here on SDE.
It would be interesting to know what the truth is :)
I think that until you have the edition in your hands, we will never know exactly hehehehe.

            Thanks again Paul!

          2. I’m 99.9% certain SDE is correct. Have asked the question with London Records for the sake of certainty.

          3. The BB Instagram Official Account clarified the contents of the box with a post. After that, I realized that I was the only one who didn’t understand ahahahahaha.
A very good weekend to everyone in the SDE community to you Paul!

  19. I’ve ordered the SDE bundle, because I love this album and everything associated with it – and I’m an absolute sucker for CD singles. And I’ll also buy the 2-disc edition so I can play the 2024 remixes in my car, where I do most of my music listening these days. Any idea if the 2CD edition will get a wider release beyond the artist’s webstore, since shipping to the US is expensive?

Personally, I wish the box set had *everything* (notwithstanding the SDE-exclusive Blu-Ray album mixes – I’m a sucker for instrumental versions, too, but I understand these are part of a special release) – because I really dislike having to keep all of the previous out-of-print expanded editions AND buy yet another 2CD edition on top of the box set. Despite Bronski Beat being one of the few acts that releases consistently high-quality new remixes (along with Erasure), I hope this is the last word on The Age of Consent, because I feel a certain sense of betrayal at having to re-purchase the album over and over to get all of its associated tracks. There aren’t many albums that I’d consider re-buying with this kind of dripping out of bonus tracks; I hope other bands don’t look at this as a good idea…

    Missing from the box set:
from the 2000 CD – Memories (2:54 version)
from the 2012 2CD – I Feel Love Medley (Source Mix), Hard Rain (Demo), Screaming (Demo) (or is this the same as the “Early Version”?), Cadillac Car (3:54 version)
from the 2018 2CD – most of Disc 2, depending on whether there’s a difference between “Demos” and “Early Versions”
from the 2024 2CD – the five 2024 remixes added to Disc 1

Why not just add a CD or two to the box to make it complete? This lovely hardcover format would certainly have room for it, without that much difference in cost.

Is this a sign that there’s even more in the vaults yet to be released? Or worse, that the band wants to commission even more new remixes in the future for later re-releases?!

I’m grateful for the chance to hear these releases, but no more, please…!

    1. That’s mega cool Dub Mix, it’s just a shame that it’s not included. At least the album version is included as an instrumental mix. I just hope it’s not a 2024 New Instrumental remix like Soft Cell.

  20. So glad to have the NME version of ”hard rain” too, even though I still have the original E.P. I’ve never ordered something so fast or made so many comments on one post!

  21. ‘Sweet sweet sweet sweet sweet is the taste of a man’ – back in 1984 hearing a man sing that! George was still carelessly whispering to women and only went outside cos he got caught inside.
I know who the true heroes are.

    1. Yeah, at the time this album highly contributed to open my mind on the gay/lesbian condition. I was impressed too by the age of consent table. A 2024 table should be as frightening as the 1984 one…

  22. Thank you so much for releasing this Paul.
Had an incredible impact on me as a teenager at the time and listening to it still makes me cry thinking of that time in my life.
Immediate order of the bundle placed.

  23. This is almost beyond belief. A stone-cold classic. All killer, no filler.
I have balked at the last couple of SDE Blu-Ray releases due to the cost with shipping to the U.S…but not this one.
This will be worth every penny.
    Bravo, Paul!

  24. Considering this. I was never that enthusiastic about ‘Smalltown boy’, but it is a SDE disc and I almost cannot support physical atmos releases enough. And I very much enjoyed Brandon Flowers’s ‘I can change’ which uses a part of the melody (and was delighted with Neil Tenant’s voice in it as well).

  25. Wow. Like open-mouth, slack jaw, wow. This may (sound unheard) be the best installment in the SDE Surround Series yet! Definitely gets the highest score of the series in my non-scientific, personal spreadsheet auto-scoring (which is admittedly weighted toward instrumental versions in multiple formats, and short-changes bonus material). And the box set looks great, too! Good price on both units, love the extra CD single included in the bundle purchase! Instant order!

  26. Gave me an instant excuse to buy both this and the Tori one to save on shipping, and because of that I bought the big bundle from you, too – the bonus CD-single is the “icing on the cake” (ha!) so to speak. Content-wise the Blu-ray is simply spectacular, and what a great album to do it with. Outstanding!!

  27. Excellent ! This is what SDE is all about – exclusive product. Bundle ordered. I am not a huge Bronksi Beat fan so I have zero copies of this album but the singles are certainly era defining so it’s about time. At least I will now have 2 copies of the album with the box set and Blu Ray.

  28. I really hope eventually that their second album, their unreleased third album and their Rainbow Nation album gets eventually reissued as deluxe sets.

  29. Oh I am SO IN for all of this! It can join my original vinyl, cheap-with-bonus-tracks CD reissue, EDSEL 2-CD reissue, the whatever-the-last-anniversary-vinyl was lol… one of THE most important LGBT+ albums of my generation.

  30. Curious Paul if the booklet/artwork includes the 40 year old table/age list from the original UK inner sleeve? (not included in the U.S. in 1984 because, The U.S. in 1984) (And of course it would be out of date now.)

  31. US here. Woke up and literally jumped out of bed to get the 4CD+DVD but then saw the CD single so had to order the bundle instead. I don’t even have Bluray gear but I’m a sucker for the CD single esp if they have a ton of remixes.

Side note: the confirmation email showed GBP when previous orders showed USD. i’m sure it’s fine just FYI.

    1. Just being curious here : why would you buy this (or any other) album over and over again? I gave that up when I realised I’d bought Sgt Pepper 4 times (LP, 2CDs and the box set) and that way madness lies. But at least SP is a good classic album!

      1. Isn’t that what most of us do here? Buy reissues because of rarities, unreleased material, 5.1 mixes etc. Slightly odd question to ask on SDE is it not?!!

        1. On the contrary , this is exactly the right place to ask the question ! We are constantly being asked to believe that this remix/remaster/coloured vinyl/bluray etc will be an improvement on the last/previous/original etc version . In a blind test I bet hardly anyone could tell the difference ! And most things are rare or unreleased for a very good reason i.e. they are not considered good enough until they are required to pad out sets like this .
Six versions of “Smalltown Boy” ?!?

          1. I thought it was obvious why people would buy AOC again. There’s 22 unreleased tracks in the 4CD+DVD deluxe and unreleased Atmos, 5.1 and instrumentals on the blu-ray. I’d agree with you if it was just the album ‘remastered’ but it’s not.

          2. I don’t understand people like you. You make it sound like your opinion is all that matters and it certainly does not, same as me. No one is forcing you to purchase this so your argument makes no sense. Don’t like it, simply don’t buy it but don’t try to suggest they shouldn’t be doing this reissue since you disapprove of it. It’s very selfish of you. Obviously there is a market for these reissues otherwise they wouldn’t bother. Stop trying to suggest no one should have these rarities. Comments like this are always annoying and they invade most of these posts.

          3. Calm down , all I was making was a general point about constant re-releases and the way they get padded out with sub-standard “rarities” , not singling out this particular release for criticism . I would never be so arrogant as to tell folks what they should listen to or buy . And I would never respond as badly as you have to someone else’s opinion .

          4. This release gives us tons of new material. It is far from a rehash of previously releases. I can certainly tell the difference between stereo, 5.1, and Atmos and the vocal and instrumental versions. I collect 5.1 and Atmos mixes of albums I already own because of the new experience they provide. I ordered the bundle as this will be the definitive release of the album with virtually all material ever recorded and remixed present plus 5 new spatial mixes. This is exactly what some of us want.

  32. Having blasted Level 42 for the 7” cases, I’m glad to see this is a hardcover set.

TOTP: Paul is the one at the side whispering in Jimmy’s ear going “I’ve got this great idea for the album, just might take a while though….”

Thanks once more Paul. Fantastic job.

  33. Just ordered the blu ray & 4cd/dvd set ……. Damn you vaults!
hopefully will get the limited IFL cd single.
the yellow vinyl is exclusive to Lexer Music the official home for Erasure’s online shop,oh what a blatant plug for Erasure, but a connection is there,David Wrench who created the Dolby atmos mix also mixed Erasure last studio album The Neon…… there you go fact fans

  34. I tried to order the bundle from here in the US and it won’t let me pay using PayPal. It keeps bringing back to the “pay now” page here on this site but it won’t go past the “pay now” button and I’ve now been debited twice on my credit card.

      1. It won’t appear as an order until it finishs, the charges will go away once they stop being pending, I would love this but it won’t go past the pay now stage.

  35. It’s great this has the remix album attached too, for future reference Paul when you do the Blu-Ray of The Human League – Dare, please don’t forget Love and Dancing. Just sayin’….

    1. I feel the same about Imagination. Body Talk, In The Heat Of The Night and Night Dubbing – a perfect trio of albums.

Night Dubbing in particular sounds great in stereo, and would be fab in Atmos.

    2. It has to be said, from my point of view, Love and Dancing was so great and featured such a lot in my 15/16 year old life that if it cam to an either / or situation rather than both I think I would go for Love and Dancing. It would benefit more from Atmos than the pure album. Exactly this time last week would have been Martin Rushent’s 76th birthday, he left us far too soon.

  36. I love this album! Ordered the bundle with the blu-ray and 4cd, plus hoping I still was in time to get the bonus CD single! Such a lovely synth-pop classic, can’t wait to hear it in surround!

  37. Wow this is one of my favourite albums from back in the day, and all the bonus material included to boot!, will be ordering for sure!! This series throws up so many surprises and it’s always exciting to get the alert from SDE!. Wonderful !!.

  38. THIS is the way to wake up in the US! Still in bed, checking SDE.com on my ipad and BOOM! The content of the blu-ray is incredible. I’m particularly excited about the instrumentals in 5.1 and Atmos. Instantly ordered the bundle, love the free cd- single.
And new 2024 remixes in surround! Once again you’ve really outdone yourself Paul!

Small correction: the I Feel Love cd- single has 3 tracks that are not on the SDE box, not 4. The Cake mix, Fruit Mix and B-Side Puit D’Amour are all on the box set which leaves 3 tracks that are not.I can’t believe I’m buying this album for the 4th time. At least the new remixes, BBC sessions and demos from the 2018 reissue are still exclusive.

  39. Bit of a cruddy day so far, so this has cheered me up immensely! Good to see Hundreds & Thousands included too. One BluRay ordered and just a bit of impatience for October to contend with!

  40. Ordered at once! Hence if Donna Summer’s original ‘I Feel Love’ were also given a Dolby Atmos treatment, that would be the real burner, Paul!

  41. I should hate you Paul, two instant purchases in less than a week (Tori Amos and Bronsky bundle), that is not reasonable.
I just can’t put myself to it, so I’ll thank you instead.
    Merci

  42. Immediate order, plus bundle.
Now I ask and tell some more friends about it.
    An excellent album.

    Probably the 5th or 6th (+1) time I buy it…

    1. Thanks for the link. This album was sonically excellent so I’m curious what this rendition will do to audiophilia.
Reading the article, I looked up Julian Mendelsohn’s involvement with the album.
Google’s AI offering of what “People also asked” was hilarious. See question 2 and 3.

    1. He’s the one wearing the ‘Frankie Says‘ or ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go‘ or ‘Like To Get To Know You Well’ t-shirt. If you were around in 1984, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

  43. No brainer. Directly ordered. I would have preferred the original 12″ instead of the new ones. But the content is remarkable (like some other releases from you) and future releases will have to compete with this. Thanks for this.

  44. Well, When I saw the Reissue on Townsend, I ordered it quickly ! Now too quickly, I just removed the items to order it here to Paul and be in the queue for the bonus CD ! SDE Rules !!! ;-)

Concerning this album, this is (to my knowledge) just the … 4th time it gets a “deluxe” or “expanded” treatment ! (and this started in 2000…) When they put some different bonus to the 2012 and 2018 editions, I couldn’t believe that they would find some more to add …

As i said for the 2018 Deluxe, I’m still waiting for the second Bronski Beat (The one without Jimmy Somerville) album to get a full expanded treatment…

  45. Great to see this getting a nice reissue, but it looks like you need to buy two formats to get all the tracks. The 2024 remixes are on the Blu Ray and 2CD, but not in the 4CD box.

  46. OMFG! I cannot put into word how excited I am about this release and is format looks incredible. Order! Super excited about the I Feel Love CD Single. This will beautifully next with the Smalltown Boy and Why? CD Singles. Thank you Paul.

    1. Thanks and I thought it would be cool to continue the CD singles. Was gonna do ‘It Ain’t Necessarily So’ since that was #3 but I Feel Love had more remixes and was a better option, I think :)

      1. It would have been nice for It Ain’t Necessarily So as CD number 3 just from a collectors point of view but completely agree I Feel Love is a better option. Be wonderful hearing the early version. Is the DJ Edit different from the DJ Edit on the promo 7″?

  47. Boom – ordered. At first glance I was disappointed that it didn’t contain the promo videos (I know you said you’d asked for them on the Tori Blu Ray also Paul – it’s always appreciated), but then I suppose that’s a selling point for the deluxe DVD, so I will let the record company off on this occasion.

What an album. Well done SDE!

  48. I think the 4cd & dvd set is the best attempt so far at getting the most relevant material from this album in one place so far. Although not into surround myself, the bluray has a wealth of versions including and of particular interest to me an instrumental version.
Needless to say – Bundle ordered!
Also, nice to see that the 2lp vinyl edition (available elsewhere) features hundreds & thousands as the second lp.

  49. Wow! great reissue. Already ordered, but I do have a question: I was very disappointed by the quality of the Atmos mix of Forever Young by Alphaville. Any idea about the quality of the Atmos mix of this one? Will it make proper use of the multi-channel?

    1. Yes it looks a great package. But I’m also finding I’ve developed a clear preference for the Steven Wilson style of Atmos mix and so curious how David Wrench might have approached this.

  50. Fantastic reissue! I have hoped for this. A hugely important album from the early 80’s, a trail blazer for gay men at that time. I was 17 when this came out and the music got me thru some tough times. Thank you Paul!
I got the bundel with CD single, had to have it all.

    1. Was 17 too when Smalltown Boy came out … an iconic single from an iconic album. Had the 1996 remaster with bonus tracks but gave it away some 20 years ago because I already had a 2CD compilation from 2002 (the red one with the golden letters) and the CD of Hundreds & Thousands. But now I like to jump in again for the 4CD1DVD boxset ;-)

    2. As a different alphabet letter queer person, it was HUGELY important for me too! We didn’t have all the out lesbian/bi/trans singers we thankfully have now, and any openly LGBT people made a massive difference. Especially when they were so political and refused to disguise that

  51. Instant order!! Paul, such an amazing work!! Still the official site advertises a yellow 2*lp ( and you’re talking about 2 lp editions too) but no trace of the yellow lp so far!!

  52. Another one purchased, thanks Paul. One of the seminal 80s albums for me.

I got an email through from TM Stores with the BluRay included, but when I visited their site the BluRay was nowhere to be seen. Then I pondered….who else might this be released by? Delighted it’s SDE!

A query about ordering: when I Pre-Order I complete the popup using Shop Pay but it doesn’t clear the basket on the main page. I found I had Tori Amos still sitting there this morning even though I’ve already ordered it. Thought you should be aware in case anyone else is experiencing this.

  53. Awesome release – opted for the complete package – no brainer – very glad this hugely important album has found its way into the ongoing series of SDE blurays. Thanks for that
