Gloria Estefan / Into The Light blue vinyl
Limited to 2,000 units • blue vinyl • 2LP set for the first time • Remastered
Into The Light, Gloria Estefan‘s second studio album as a solo artist, is being reissued as a limited edition 2LP coloured vinyl set in September.
The album was recorded after the terrible road traffic accident Estefan and her band were involved in during the ‘Get on Your Feet Tour’. Gloria suffered a fractured spine.
She recovered and came back strongly with the Into The Light album, and in particular, the single ‘Coming Out of the Dark’ which was number one in America and Canada in early 1991.
This reissue sees Into The Light pressed as a two-LP set for the first time. It features remastered audio and is pressed on blue marbled vinyl. These are limited to 2000 numbered copies and come with an insert.
Into The Light is for the first time available on a 2-LP set, as a limited edition of 2000 individually numbered copies on blue marbled vinyl. The package includes an insert featuring the lyrics.
Into The Light is released on 4 September 2020. Pre-order your copy via the SDE shop using this link, or the button below.

pass.
still so sad that they blocked vibe on records from moving forward with releasing the 2-disc special edition of “primitive love” a few years ago….especially as i hoped that would lead to remastering/rereleasing “eyes of innocence” as well as their spanish-language albums….
sigh….maybe someday……
I love Gloria and collect her releases, but much like with the new vinyl version of Cyndi Lauper´s True Colors album I will skip this.
I would love deluxe CD´s of these albums, not re-issues of the regular albums on vinyl. The original vinyl can be found pretty easily.
I hope they start releasing all her catalogue. She’s got some really good gems in 80s and 90s releases. I would love to see Cuts Both Ways in color vinyl and Destiny.
I loved this album, I had the cassette back in the day, and I attended the concert tour, what an amazing show. I remember gathering outside the Montreal Forum after the show, so many fans were circling around her tour bus, she kept signing autographs through the window even as the bus was driving away. Why is Nayib’s Song (I Am here For You) missing? Please tell me it’s a typo.
Incorrect track listing supplied. Corrected.
Nayibs Song is on there https://www.musiconvinyl.com/catalog/gloria-estefan/into-the-light
sorry i do collect Gloria’s releases and would love a newly remastered version of this one or “Cuts both ways” – but not on vinyl .. looks like i’m going to have to wait even longer now for some decent cd sets .. “
Fantastic news! Finally on 2LPs and Language of Love is included (was not on US LP or CD at the time), would love to see super deluxe with all the music videos, Into The Light World Tour, other VHS documentary content “Coming Out of the Dark” released at the time. Same for hers and Miami Sound Machine other 80s albums.
I wonder why ‘Nayib’s Song (I Am Here For You)’ has been omitted from the track listing.
It’s gonna be on the release. They made a mistake on the track listing
This is great news! Thanks Paul for the heads up! Now let’s hope this is the beginning of getting ALL her records issued on colored vinyl, as well as super deluxe sets with remixes, b-sides, unreleased tracks, etc.
I just hope that at some point they reissue the pre-fame Miami Sound Machine albums like Otra Vez and Rio from when they had that real latin sound.
Are those early ones hard to find then?
Alan M – yes they are! Nothing from that era has ever come out on CD or digital and the early vinyls are pricy. (Having said that, there are a couple of the early MSM songs on “Exitos de Gloria Estefan.) Their first album was released in 1977. Most people (including me) only discovered them due to Dr Beat, but many don’t realise that that song came out seven years after their first album.
I agree Alan. I have both of those albums but they need a reissue programme for their CBS Discos catalogue
