Last chance to order the Paul Young blu-ray
The ultimate version of No Parlez
The pre-order window for the Paul Young No Parlez SDE-exclusive blu-ray audio – number 17 in the ongoing SDE Surround Series – is about to close.
This limited edition blu-ray features the classic 1983 album – with three bonus tracks – in a multitude of mixes, including Dolby Atmos, 5.1 surround, new stereo mix, and instrumentals. The original 1983 mix gets an audiophile remastering with no peak limiting and to top things off the blu-ray also includes the original CD master of No Parlez (in stereo) which features five extended versions. That’s eight audio mixes for a truly fantastic product!
Don’t miss out! This is your last chance to guarantee you get a copy. There may be some cancellation/contingency stock closer to release next year, but this is not guaranteed (it didn’t happen with Duran Duran, for example).
The No Parlez SDE-exclusive blu-ray will be released on 15 March 2024 via Edsel. Secure your copy by pre-ordering via the SDE shop using this link or the pre-order button, below.
The 2CD editions remain available, but remember that the SDE-exclusive is limited to 1000 units and I can guarantee that we’ll reach that number well before release date!
TECHNICAL NOTES: This blu-ray audio requires a blu-ray player. Decoding the Dolby Atmos mix requires a Dolby Atmos-certified soundbar or a Dolby Atmos-compatible AV Receiver/Amp. The Dolby Atmos mix will ‘fold down’ to 5.1 or stereo if a Dolby Atmos decoder is not detected.

Ordered! My first one ever, so looking forward to giving it a try. Thanks Paul and Happy Christmas!
Thank you Michael!
I caved in and bought the Blu-ray. I had hoped the remixes would be in 5.1 but it wasn’t to be unfortunately. On a similar note i’m still waiting for Edsel to send me a replacement disc from their deluxe edition of The Secret Of Association from 2007 which had the wrong version of Every Time You Go Away on the second disc.
I’d also love the remixes in 5.1 but I’m guessing that rebuilding them would be almost impossible at this stage. Even with a huge budget, it would be complicated and I think this release is at a very good price and with everything thats available in terms of content or can available and can be done within a limited budget. Getting them in high quality stereo is excellent, 5.1 especially for the Iron out the Rough spots 12″ mix would be amazing but I bet a lot of the parts created for that mix can’t be located or recreated. I’m grateful for what is included. It’s a lot!! Happy Christmas to all!!!
.
Almost missed out on this, what with it being Christmas and all!
Thanks for the reminder, Paul :)
I recently bought some Record Mirror’s from 1984 and in the gossip section in January, it stated the rumour was I Close My Eyes and Count To Ten would be the first single from album deux in March 1984. Obviously, it never happened but I wonder if there is a studio version of the song in the archive?
Interesting. I’ve never spotted such a thing!
Apologies if it has been already mentioned, there is a (not very good) live version on YouTube.
Yes, the live version is familiar and was included on one of the 12″ singles.
It’s on this https://www.discogs.com/release/693193-Paul-Young-The-Essential-Paul-Young
The version on the Japan Hammersmith (?) Live EP is fab. Surprised the show has never been expanded to a full release (or maybe it has and I missed it).
This is one of the best releases in the SDE surround series in terms of value for money with the amount of mixes on the blu-ray. Some people are complaining the window to purchase is too short, okay it’s Christmas and this may not be everyone’s priority but don’t complain later when you see the prices on e-bay.
The window is giving everyone who wants a copy, to be able to purchase a copy. It should also make things harder to sell on e-bay at inflated prices if everyone buys their copy now.
I wish everybody a Merry Christmas and a Super Deluxe New Year !
