  1. I picked up the trilogy as three separate discs when I was last in Japan. They are on a label called Victor and they are gorgeous remasters – especially Flying Teapot. Now I understand why Charley Records are so bad. Thanks for the heads up.

  2. I have the CD set, but kept quiet as I don’t want to upset Gong fans. Charly have put a lot of work into it and it looks and sounds very good. I am not sure about the origin of the master tapes used and Charly have put their side of the licensing story within the booklet essay, which Gong members refute. Universal are planning their own set which Mark Powell I believe is involved in putting together. What will be in this is not known yet, but hopefully Flying Teapot will get a decent release at last.

  3. I had the Gong vinyl set ordered buy I cancelled when I discovered the band have nothing to do with this product.

Apparently a Gong endorsed set is to be released in 2016.

Paul is right to put this set on SDE because had he not we may not have found out what Charly are up to, no good it seems to me.

    1. Charly are going to issue an official statement on this later this week, which I will report here. Let’s not cast them as the villains until we’ve heard from both sides.

  4. Very interesting comments on the Amazon webpage from the surviving members of Gong. If what they say is true do you think you should be advertising this edition, Paul?

    1. I’m informing people that the product is coming out, I’m not forcing anyone to buy it. I have no idea what is true and what isn’t true but it does sound like a sorry state of affairs. Will see if I can get a comment from Charly…
