Pick of the week for me is the new Chuck Prophet LP ‘Wake The Dead’
We had a new remix of Duran Duran’s Evil Woman on streaming yesterday in Australia for Halloween. It’s the Medusa mix daytime drama edit and was mixed by John Taylor.
The Amazon US listing for the 2CD/Bluray edition of the new Cure album says “item no longer available” before release date, which is a bad sign for those who (myself included) pre-ordered from there…
I’m sure they’ll restock it, it’s a deluxe version not limited numbers wise.
I preordered from udiscover directly and haven’t received mine yet, although i preordered it the first day. Record stores here already have it….
Isn’t the new expanded deluxe edition of Porcupine Tree’s “Fear of a Blank Planet” out this week too?
My order is being processed to be mailed.
Paul,
Are there any more SDE Blu Rays expected to be announced this year noting that they may not ship now until early new year.
So hoping you can get Martin, Glen and Demon to do Penthouse & Pavement and Luxury Gap!
At least two more will be announced before the end of this year.
and then after that we can start guessing what 40th and 50th anniversary from 1975 and 1985 will be an SDE blu-ray next year.
‘Progress’, a 3CD expansion of the sole 1974 (cassette) album by Gordon Beck’s Gyroscope, is out this week from Jazz In Britain – rehearsals, broadcasts, live in Edinburgh and the original album with an extensive booklet. British progressive jazz in excelsis.
Jazz In Britain is an excellent label, some brilliant releases. Looking forward to the Complete Ray Russell Quartet that they spoke of recently.
Despite being released digitally for some time Friday sees the physical release on CD & vinyl of the Challengers soundtrack by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails. Thankfully this soundtrack is an eighties tinged synth pop/dance effort and not one of their typical slower affairs…
Quiet week, although Sid Griffin’s “From The Grape To The Raisin” is winging its way to me as I type.
Also out the first ever CD compilation from Boys Wonder, a great lost band of the late 1980s.
Also out this week is a new album by Australian singer/songwriter Paul Kelly called Fever Longing Still. He has been the most acclaimed and popular Australian musician in this genre for close to 40 years even if his following outside Australia doesn’t reflect this.
