  1. I like that we now get the US Version on Disc 1. It always seemed a bit lacking not having “Helen Wheels” in between “No Words” and “Picasso’s…” It made an even great album that much greater.

      1. Agree. It just doesn’t seem right plonked into the middle of the album. It should have been left off.
By the way, what is up with Amazon? Band On The Run is listed as being unavailable before it’s even released! The new Future Islands album, only released last Friday, is also listed as ‘temporarily out of stock’.

        1. BOTR now 1-2 months on Amazon, same with UFO. Rough Trade limiting BOTR to 1 per customer, Juno not even listing it. Assai sold out. Crash Records showing In Stock though. Of course it could be an oft-used Universal tactic with McCartney of initial scarcity to cause a scramble then a flood a few weeks later!

    1. Exciting news Stevie. Hadn’t heard. Hoping for physical single releases (CD please with all tracks that might come out on vinyl). Looking forward to a new album and tour (hopefully).

You can catch their Dreamworld, Greatest Hits Live [at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen] showing at theaters/theatres tomorrow (Wednesday) and Sunday. Saw them on the Unity tour with New Order in 2022 and assume this is an extended version of that set.

  2. The rough mix of Band on the run is interesting for hardcore Macca fans. It’s refreshing to listen to this iconic album with a different perspective. There are a lot of elements missing on this mix. It’s obvious on tracks like Jet or Nighteen hundred and eighty five, which is presented as an instrumental here. And it’s a highlight of this collection. It’s not a definitive edition, the 2010 boxset is the one to get. But as it is, it’s fine and affordable.
