King Crimson / On (and off) The Road (1979-1982)
Many acts could learn from the care and attention King Crimson pay to the art of the deluxe music box set. This 19-disc collection presents a complete overview of the 1980s incarnation of the band and includes 5.1 mixes of studio albums, plenty of live concert records and studio sessions.

T’Pau / Bridge of Spies 2CD edition

People reporting errors on Amazon already with the box set tracks being in mono and duplicate tracks being used doesn’t surprise me. gwynogue i have used Base many times before and had no problems. There has has doubt been a very high demand for this box set and they probably ran out and need to manufacture more.
Re: Dead Or Alive “Sophisticated Boom Box”.
I switched my order from Amazon UK to Base.com – I’ve just received an e-mail from Base saying the release date is now November 25.
Are any Amazon customers getting the new date?
On the contrary, Amazon UK just informed me this morning that mine was in the post.
Hmmmm…I suppose it’s a ‘first-come-first-served’ situation. I placed my Amazon order back when SBBMMXVI was announced, but I switched at the very last minute (only two days ago) so I guess I’m at the end of a very long queue. That, plus a sudden spike in demand means Base could be waiting for more stock to arrive.
Which is fair enough – then again, the e-mail doesn’t say anything about high demand/low stock. It just says change of date:
*We have been informed that the release date…..has been changed to 25 November 2016.*
I’ve never used Base before so I have no idea what sort of reputation they have.
In response to Korova, seen some images of The Jam vinyl on eBay and that have a different sticker to the exhibition vinyl so assume it is black vinyl. The coloured vinyl version has a sticker in the mod colours with red on the outer band. The exhibition only got 200 copies in advance to sell while on, the remainder via Nice Time Prods from release date this Fri. Was mentioned on FB Paul Weller news, that there was 2000 of these, meaning there is a massive 1800 to be sold via Nicky Weller? Anyone else got further info? There was such a scramble for the Tesco Sound Affects pink vinyl, one would think this triple coloured vinyl set would be equally sought after.
Looks like they repressed Skeleton Key due to the number of complaints and returns on the first pressing being dusty / scratched which were not able to be cleaned off. This version comes in a different sleeve liner to protect it. Apparently ink from the inner sleeve contaminated the vinyl.
T’Pau Bridge of Spies 2CD edition is only £6.99 on hmv.com.
Anyone know what’s going with Amazon US for King Crimson? Pre-ordered quite some time ago but now the product is listed as “not available” with no timetable.
Without words regarding Pete Burns.
Paul, hoping you will share images of the signed Boom box set with readers.
R.I.P. Pete Burns. Sad timing
Has David Gray actually had any hits since the last greatest hits compilation?
No he hasn’t but his last album was very good. I do find this release pointless apart from the 2 two new tracks and i have to say that LeAnn Rimes totally ruins Snow In Vegas.
If you ordered The Jam’s LP from the exhibition site it was a triple coloured vinyl, red, white and blue issue. Wonder if the Amazon issue is the same or plain old black? A great exhibition by the way in Liverpool, now finished sadly and never to be repeated as most of the exhibits were auctioned off.
Paul, am I right in thinking you recently interviewed Pete Burns for this site? If so, will we be seeing the interview soon?
Thanks,
Same here I bought the new Cave LP day of release.
As Le Baron says but here in Barcelona I’ve get my CD copy of Skeleton Tree when it appeared on September 9 and there was a LP one for be sold that didn’t get cuz wasn’t sure if download code was on like this one says it does…
This is weird, I have bought Nick Cave’s Skeleton Tree on vinyl at least 2 weeks ago at my local record store (France).
Great album, by the way! :)
Also out is Empire of the Sun’s Two Vines featuring contributions from Lindsey Buckingham (80’s Fmac influenence can be heard on their excellent last album Ice on the Dune) , Wendy Melvoin (Princes Revolution) & members of David Bowie’s Blackstar band.
