Paul Young / From Time To Time: The Singles Collection reissued on 2LP blue vinyl

Signed exclusively for SDE

From Time to Time 2LP blue vinyl reissue will be exclusively signed for SDE

Limited coloured vinyl pressing signed by Paul Young only for SDE

Paul Young‘s classic 1991 compilation From Time to Time: The Singles Collection is being reissued as a 2LP vinyl set pressed on blue vinyl for its 30th anniversary. And SDE is selling exclusive signed copies via the SDE shop.

This greatest hits set was issued between Paul’s fourth and fifth studio albums (Other Voices and The Crossing) and was an enormous success in the UK, entering the album charts at number one in September 1991 and staying in the top 10 for 14 consecutive weeks. Such was its longevity, the album was still in the top 40 in late February 1992.

The album features all seven of Paul Young’s UK top ten hits (including number one single ‘Wherever I Lay May Hat (That’s My Home)’, as well as songs that did well in America, such as US number one single ‘Every Time You Go Away’, ‘I’m Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down’ and ‘Oh Girl’ (which reached number eight, stateside, in the summer of 1990).

The compilation also includes Paul’s cover of Crowded House’s ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’ (the single issued to promote it) and his hit with Zucchero, ‘Senza una donna (Without a Woman)’.

Paul Young will sign the coloured vinyl reissue only for SDE

Originally released on one vinyl record 30 years ago, this 14-track compilation is now reissued for the first time as a 2LP set and is pressed on limited edition translucent blue vinyl. This are numbered and are limited to 2000 copies worldwide (2000 blue vinyl in total, of which the SDE signed copies are a subset).

Paul Young is a good friend to SDE and regular readers will know that we’ve collaborated on various releases and reissues over the years. I’m delighted to say that Paul will be signing copies of this From Time to Time reissue exclusively for the SDE shop. Each vinyl record will be personally signed by Paul Young and a coloured photo of Paul signing the album will be included with your vinyl!

  1. Just received my signed copy today and cover looks really good, but sadly no coloured photo of Paul signing the album which was promised to be included with the vinyl :-(
Thankfully Customer Service picked up my note and will send me one soon..fingers crossed

I’m a bit in doubt about the pressing quality as my discs have a discolouration line 0.5 cm wide, listening now it doesn’t seem audible, just visual.. but am I the only one with this issue?

  2. Hi Paul. Got my copy delivered this morning. Superb! So good to hear it again on vinyl and whole package is excellent. Nice touch to put photo of signing in.

  3. “Each vinyl record will be personally signed by Paul Young and a coloured photo of Paul signing the albumwill be included with your vinyl!”

Is that a photo of Paul signing an album, or a photo of him signing your individual copy of the album?

  4. Brilliant. My better half loves Paul Young and a signed coloured vinyl will go down very well as a Christmas present. Just go to make sure she knows nothing about it being released now…..
    Thanks Paul.

      1. Always trust SDE but it’s nice to get the photo’s too. My daughter will (hopefully) at last get to see Miss Eilish in concert next year after the cancellation of her last tour due to COVID. Was a Xmas 2019 gift she will be getting 2 1/2 years late!

  5. This will go very nicely with my Signed copy of the original Black Vinyl. Thanks Paul’s Sinclair, Young & SDE. Bought one to play and one for the collection, will I get 2 Photo’s? Cheers.

  6. Good Morning from the US, Paul. Ordered, great deal even with the shipping. I know it’ll be well packed and tracked.

On another note, congratulations on making it to the Hall of Fame! Keep up the great work!

  7. Only 3 tracks on the third side. Would have been a good opportunity to include one of the A-sides that were left off from the original issue, which probably was for time constraints:
    “Tomb Of Memories”
“Why Does A Man Have To Be Strong”
    “Calling You”
    “Heaven Can Wait”
    – or the Japan only bonus track:
“Come On In” (with Masayuki Suzuki)

      1. Worth noting perhaps is that the new 2-LP has the original CD track listing. 1991 LP omitted Some People but still had 15 tracks crammed on one vinyl and over 34 minutes on the B-side (hardly hi-fi).

  8. Had my mind blown by Paul Young after recently acquiring Vangelis’ Voices album. His collaboration on the track Losing Sleep is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I’ve ever heard. Up there with Delius by Kate Bush. Talk about other worldly.

  9. Back in the 80s when he was in rehearsal at John Henry studios, I was lucky to meet him,and he signed the original cd set for my girlfriend, future long term partner (33 years and counting),really nice guy.

  10. Ouch, and Some People over Why Does A Man Have to be Strong?. Calling You and Heaven Can Wait should have been included, And of course 3 singles off The Crossing, and the big American hit What Becomes of the Broken Hearted.

          1. Looking well Mr. Y. Does not get all of the credit he deserves for his place in the history of pop music. Even after No Parlez and Association the quality of output from Paul was excellent. Oh Girl, Softly Whispering and my favourite PY single (not on From Time to Time as it was a later single) Now I know What made Ottis Blue. Not forgetting of course his classic first line of the original and best band Aid Single. One of the outstanding solo performers at Live Aid too. Surely PY should be honored for his contribution to music for the last 40+ years? Any figure on how many copies PY will be signing Paul S. Cheers, Col.

  11. Disappointing it hasn’t been updated considering over 2 slabs there’s room for at least another 5 tracks. A couple off The Crossing and a couple off Other Voices would have done the trick. Missed opportunity.

      1. Perhaps it is better to point out the fantastic exclusives that Paul is able to source. As a collector, I think it is great. You don’t need to buy them ! Frankly, I am delighted to have the opportunity to help Paul make some money instead of him having to charge to maintain this excellent website. Ordered !

      2. It should also be noted there is no ‘extra charge’ for the signed copies. Where as other artists do charge more to get a signed copy of a release (i.e Mikey Dolenz, David Soul)
