QUICK LOOK: Alexander O’Neal / “Tabu Anthology” 8CD box set
Out on Monday 18 November is this stylish Alexander O’Neal Tabu Anthology box set. Six studio albums (1985’s Alexander O’Neal to 1993’s Love Makes No Sense) sit alongside two exclusive bonus discs offering seven-inch and twelve-inch remixes. The impressive 40-page booklet offers lots of detail around each record and the very thick, sturdy box is a far cry from some of the cheap card slipcases that come with similar album collections. These have also be newly remastered. More information available here.

I noticed the error on mine too, sent it back and the replacement has it too. :-(
Just noticed my disc has the same error on In The Middle.
I am just listening to the set. Unfortunately my copy of “Love Makes No Sense” is scarred with an error. The problem occurs after 3:22 of the first track, “In The Middle”. The sound almost disappears for the remainder of the song.
I hope, my copy is the only one with this problem.
Thanks!
I think you should enquire, Paul…..
Will see what I can find out…
Okay, I’m confused. These sets are different to the individual album reissues because they’ve been mastered (properly) from scratch and have no vinyl rips? Not only that, but in the last week or so I’ve seen HMV begin stocking all these Tabu reissues – multiple copies of all the Cherrelle, Alex, SOS and even Kathy M titles….some months after they were first released. So…have those much-maligned individual titles also been repressed from proper masters? Or have HMV just arrived to the party very late?!
I’d love to buy all of them, because it stills makes me sad every time I see them in the racks and know what they’re actually like.
