Suede / Metal Mickey seven-inch picture disc
Limited to 1000 units worldwide
As part of Demon Music’s Suede30 campaign, the label are issuing Suede’s first four singles as seven-inch picture discs, reproducing the original arresting cover images on the discs.
The second release is the classic, ‘Metal Mickey’, originally released on Nude Records on 14 September 1992. The single reached No 17 in the UK charts, earning the band their first appearance on Top Of The Pops, and paving the way for the release of the band’s debut album.
The B-side to this single was ‘Where The Pigs Don’t Fly’ which didn’t appear on the Suede album. The picture disc is strictly limited to 1000 units worldwide and is only available via the SDE shop and the official Suede store.
The ‘Metal Mickey’ seven-inch picture disc is released on 27 October 2023 (was 15 September) via Demon Records. Sadly this item has now sold out on the SDE shop!
EU SHIPPING NOTES: If you are ordering from the EU please be aware that that goods may be subject to import VAT when they arrive from the UK. The prices the SDE shop charge you do not include VAT

I wasn’t going to bother with three 7” picture discs, but I’ve caved and ordered both Metal Mickey and The Drowners.
Paul
Just want to check if I’ve understood this correctly;
The bundle that I ordered for delivery in July (vinyl/Blu-ray/Drowners 7”) will be held back until September and sent with the Metal Mickey 7” single? Seems a bit of a wait for ordering an extra item! If I’ve picked this up wrong I apologise.
Cheers
No, that is not correct. If you order Metal Mickey then obviously that will not ship until September, along with anything else in the SAME order. Previous orders of Suede/Drowners ship in July.
Thank you, I get it now! Apologies once again for getting the wrong end of the stick!
No problem. I was probably guilty of ‘over-explaining’ in the post, which I’ve edited slightly to make clearer!
Demon Music once again milking it…
Haven’t they got anymore Doctor Who albums to put out?
Purchased, Thanks Paul for making it easy to buy it here. ;)
This looks beautiful. Is there a reason that this second release in the series will only be available from SDE and the official store? The “Drowners” picture disc was available to purchase from indie stores
Demon Music took that decision. At a guess I’d say those two places probably sold the bulk of The Drowners…
15 sovs for a 7″? Ouch.
Think of it as £7.50 a song. ;) if that was the case, a 10 track album would ONLY cost you £75. Something wrong with the maths somewhere along the way. I guess you could consider a picture disc a piece of art not a piece of music, therefore the price doesn’t feel TOO bad, i guess.
I suppose it doesn’t magically become cheaper to press a vinyl record by adding songs to it…
Sure are milking this debut to death. Is this the most prolific debut album to get so many releases in as many years?
It can’t be far off ! As for me I ducked out after buying the 25th anniversary edition, no more for me unless there’s unreleased tracks or rare live stuff.
New Boots and Panties might run it close.
That said it is an album that does deserve some 30th anniversary celebration with a range of formats. It would be a shame if the multiple previous reissues put people off buying it, they would be missing out
